The Alienware M18 R2 (2024) is a beauty no doubt. The issue, however, that I have with these gaming machines from Dell is that the display does not get very bright and that is a definite no go for me. The webcam and internal mics are okay. I will agree with you Andrew in that the Alienware M16 R2's audio quality sounds better than on its big brother. All in all, it's a great gaming machine with lots of ports, upgradable RAM and the RTX 4090 to boot. I just wished the display was a lot brighter which for me, hinders my interest in it. Great review Andrew as always!! 👍😁
I'm a huge fan of the larger laptops... But wish we still had eg XPS 17 updated with better power budgets, high refresh IPS screen, and better cooling (ideally with a switch to AMD processors). If I had to buy today I'd need to give this Alienware a look... The gamer-ness and backlight issues of this model (also the numpad - I prefer centered keyboard) are the major drawbacks for me. As is I think I'd need to pass on this Alienware and still go with a Framework 16.
Nice pc. Camera was okay and speakers sounded a little flat. As a desktop type portable pc this is a good choice. It might be a little on the heavy side but working with it on your desk this will be stable and will not move around very much. Keyboard layout is good. Numpad laid out correctly. Great review.

Razer did it better
I picked up an XPS 13 Lunar Lake thanks to your review.
Design looks like a throwback from the 90's, Omen, Zephyrus or Legion anyday!
This device looks sick man! 😂
Legion PRO 7i GEN 9(2024) review ma man?
This laptop deserves a much better screen with a higher brightness, and either higher resolution or higher refresh rate
I bring my M16 - 4090 everywhere with me. It is a desktop replacement. :):):)
I have the R18 for work and it's too big to travel with. I might get a m16 with matching peripherals for myself
@ I agree

Thanks William!
Would love to see the Legion 7i Gen 9 (2024) review next!
Right on time it's on the way
Hey Andrew, could you please review HP Elietbook X g1a 🎉
Once the embargo lifts I will do so. I have been using it and loving it.
5:07 That's why I'm waiting for CES; I need lots of RAM.
I have this with 4070. It's my cs go machine. Wish I got the 4090
I wonder what happens to those new computers that no one buys for years maybe. Do they get liquidated or something?
Yes. It gets recycled.
And don’t forget about tariffs. 2025 with Trump on the lead, will make these gaming laptops incredibly expensive. Just saw Linus on it 😢 rip.
Sadly, no laptop meets my needs right now. No laptop has good RAM options with Zen 5 or Intel's upcoming Arrow Lake at the moment.
