From the reviews I've seen of the Stelvio, most mention the "lack" of "tech". I feel that certain manufacturers understand (mostly) their consumer base. Ferrari for instance. It's about the emotion it evokes when you drive it. You can spend hundreds of thousands of dollars or more on an exotic or tens of thousands or less and still experience the same emotional thrill it gives a driver. certain cars are more emotional and they are built simply to provide the driver just that. For those who really enjoy the driving experience will not be concerned about the size of the screen or the apps and general software, it's about the drive. Stelivio in my opinion was built to stir emotions to put a smile on ones face in an organic manner. No size screen would provide that (unless if you're a tech geek) then you'd probably would never buy a Stelvio or other similar vehicles. Sure it's expensive, it's Italian, it's an import and it's European. But it's a Stelvio. Meant to be driven with passion and enthusiasm, even just driving to the grocery store would be more fun in this than say a Prius. Purpose built cars for certain drivers who need or want certain things. Stelvio offers performance first, function and practicality second. Value? It's how you perceive the car. If you value more performance then this maybe for you. If you value more funtion you may look elsewhere. Just my opinion.
Your opinion is spot on. We rented a deisel stelvio in Spain for 4 days. The drive was spectacular. Steering suspension handling visibility even power. Paddle shifters are ready to engage. Grabby brakes essential for stopping sports car. Why buy the stelvio QV? 1. Performance 2. Handling 3. Power 4. Steering 5. Shifting 6. Dashboard info for sport car. Who needs Stelvio? Alpha male that does not want to sit in a go cart. AWD. Came back to US and bought the QV for 72 k. You want sport but the car. You want entertainment stay at home.
I’m an owner of a Stelvio I wish it was a bit more evocative in the interior although there’s nothing wrong with the car it just needs a few more bells and whistles more leather and bright work etc
The gear shifter area as a whole is a really bad execution.. also the seats are not fully covered in leather sitting in the drivers seat if you touch the lower right hand side of the chair you feel cloth where it should be leather the dashboard is horrendous it just screams cost cutting and I’m appalled but I’ll choose to look over it because of how it drives
I'm coming from a 2013 ford mustang into one of these. My mustang had a more than decent user interface and screen along with rear view camera, but I still think the screen on the Stelvio is really nice and sleekly integrates into the dash. I know I'm not coming from a super high end car into this, but I thought the Stelvio had everything i could want in an infotainment setup. I loved using the knob, it's not as un-intuitive as all these reviewers say. If you sit with the dealer and actually give it a couple moments of thought, it's actually easy enough to figure out. So many reviewers ragging on this car.
Have the same spec Ti Sport since October 2017 and LOVE IT! Amazing handling, power and design. Anything to improve upon? Sure, like all cars but when my lease is up I am definitely staying with the Stelvio.
At 3:43...you lost me.....do you prefer an iPad thrown on top of a center stack ala Merc ? To my aesthetic, that is a tacky afterthought.....The Alfa infotainment is seamless and Apple Car Play / Android Auto are now available....the center toggle (ripped off from BMW) is super easy to use and the voice recognition is great.....I think you really needed to spend more time with it to appreciate its simplicity of use.....
the materials are cheap inside? yeah : aluminium , leather, carbon fibre....are all cheap materials....not to mention the only carbon fibre prop shaft you will find on a family car, on the planet .
exactly. All these half ass reviews of cars that don't even go beyond the superficial like driving/looks/and engine specs. They never mention the other mechanical reasons which might explain the price.
Good summary : it's a car to drive and take pleasure to drive, not to spend hours on a multimedia screen. My opinion : it's one of last real car before we turn to "screen on wheels". Mustang/MG/Tesla put LARGE screen in car but how often do you use it during a journey. Ok agree about rear camera, I must admit it's a bit small :)
Bought a loaded Stelvio Ti and love it. Please don’t tell me a Mercedes, Audi, etc. are so much better and reliable ... own an E Class and know better.
Serious question, if Alfa used the uconnect system out of FCA vehicles, would you then complain its the same system out of a Pacifica even though it worked flawlessly? @Driving Sports TV
We’ve stated in several reviews that we like UConnect. Also, big fans of CarPlay. If our test car had either there would be less complaining. “Special” and “unique” systems are only good when they provide additional functionality or do something better. Different but worse is never appreciated.
Driving Sports TV that is my view as well but many reviewers knock the Maserati system for being Uconnect and not a unique system. I just want what works personally
I am sorry but, this the worst review I have ever watched. I have driven a bmw 3 series and the amount of cheap hard plastic is everywhere. I am sure you would not notice at all. Why? Because is a bmw.
Agreed. Just traded in my X3 for the Stelvio TI sport. These idiot ignorant reviewers dont realize that Alfa is an Italian racing brand first, then a luxury SUV. BTW, I never wrote on the BMW handwriting gimmicky Idrive.
It was provided to us by Alfa Romeo for evaluation. It should be representative. We reached out to FCA several days ago but they did not confirm availability.
Ha, yes. Some eyes might also say that dude is not treating their sight the best possible, right ;) Very biased judgment. I was test driving one two days ago. I rode an X5 E70 for over 10 years now. I find nothing to complain. One must be very, very pointy and willingly showcase issues to create such a feedback. Well. Last I've watched.
All reviews are in daylight. I want to see how it looks at night with the driving lights and interior dash.. for example the 2019 MKC contour lights turn on when you walk up to it.. its like it comes to life for you.. Lincoln calls it “Lincoln greeting” i think. I wish Alpha thought of that, just as a little add on.
Ok...so I checked the specs and the Stelvio is surprisingly larger than I thought....But it's still not SQ 5.....SQ 5 should compete with Quad.... FORZA ALFA BABY....
I have a 2018 Stelvio Ti . The more I drive it the more I hate it. Turbo lag from a complete stop is VERY BAD! There are times that I put the gas pedal to the floor and I’m waiting 2 to 3 seconds before the vehicle takes off...... very scary when a truck is coming your way.

here in Europe Alfa Romeo is symbol for sports car,
and people buy for drive not for playing with infotainment bullshit

Love those fake exhausts on the SQ5. What could they possibly have been thinking? I'll take the Stelvio any day.
Thank you ! you’re the only reviewer that I know mentioned Towing capacity plus launch control :)
the materials are cheap inside? yeah : aluminium , leather, carbon fibre....are all cheap materials....not to mention the only carbon fibre prop shaft you will find on a family car, on the planet .
word.

He's actually right because despite that everything is very cheaply made out of plastic and also doesn't feels very well made.
It's cheap. Just test drove one. I REALLY wanted to like it, but interior turned me away.
Very nice car. That 2.0L takes most reviewers by surprise :) Tons of torque..

You had the infotainment system on split screen. You can use the whole screen so you weren't quite correct.
I own one of these cars and it is awesome.
Also how can you comment on reliability if this car along with the Giulia is a brand new platform?
Sounds at first like it's going to be a negative review however once he drives it, the review becomes more favorable. Unbiased review overall.
best suv on planet !!!
diego diegito aggressive but it is pretty good

I have a 330i and just drove the Stelvio. Different class
@@jfranklin8190 in what way?
Yeah but the SQ5 has fake exhaust.
Stelvio as well has a fake exhaust sound
@@mpershyn31 I don't think so.....
apparently there is a small microphone by the exhaust and it pipes in through the front speakers ? So it's real....I guess...
Advanced efficiency - this Stelvio didnt have the latest software, apple car play is available.
It was provided to us by Alfa Romeo for evaluation. It should be representative. We reached out to FCA several days ago but they did not confirm availability.
All Alfa Romeo Stelvios made after December 2017 are equipped with apple car play

Does anybody know the background music?
Thankyou , appreciate the review

They do have that it’s called greeting lights
Very nice review.
Why are people so butt hurt about the SQ5's fake exhaust??
Lmao
....by the way....Q 4 sends up to 50 %....not 60 % to the Front wheels...
Fail at 1:37....Stelvio competes with Q 3 , not Q 5.....apples vs oranges....
Nope, it's in the same segment as Q5.
How's that....the Q 5 is much larger
Ok...so I checked the specs and the Stelvio is surprisingly larger than I thought....But it's still not SQ 5.....SQ 5 should compete with Quad....
FORZA ALFA BABY....
maybe 60 % to rear wheels ?

Shlamo you old geezer, just keep on riding your bicycle, no wonder you have turbo lag!
first car with turbo? as that's how turbo is. need a bit of skill with your foot to get the best out of it.
EPIC FAIL at 3:51....you need a Nissan ROGUE......NEXT
Audi fan
