I’ve had my eye on this, so happy to see your review. I was about to buy the Dyson hair dryer (I most often wear my hair curly) but this is so versatile and with the diffuser I could do straight or curly with the one device. Thanks for the review!
This is so helpful! ☺️ I got the Shark hair dryer with the attachments in May and I could cry! I wish I would have waited! I've used it twice and I know I would use this so much more. 😭 I'll have to give it to my mom or sell it and get my hands on the styler! I'm so excited!!!

I just picked mine up from Best Buy. I played around with the paddle brush and the curler attachments. Love the paddle brush. Def. need to play around with the curler attachments more. I really like the hair dryer and have a tip about the buttons. Try to curl your hair so that the buttons/machine are facing you in the mirror so that you can see where the cool shot and other buttons are. Also, I found that the Sonia Kashuk 3 pc makeup bag collection- the largest bag fits all of the shark components.... It is around 20 or 30 for 3 pc set at Target...
Is the Shark oval round brush attachment a 2.4 or 2.7 size?

He querido una Dyson desde hace 2 años pero el precio me detiene, este año he estado acumulando mis puntos en Ulta para ver si me la compro pero solo tengo $250 puntos estoy esperando pongas un cupón de descuento y que incluya la Dyson pero hasta ahora nada. Creo que mejor me comprare esta otra opción y por el precio mucho mejor.

I have them both. After a month of using the Shark, which I loved, I lost and broke off so much hair, especially on the top of my head, that I was afraid to style it anymore. The Dyson smoothing brushes with the Coanda effect saved me. I love the Shark curling barrels and think they create a longer lasting curl than the Dyson. But the dual bristles on the Shark large brushes are way too rough on my hair. The problem I'm finding with these reviews is that everyone compares the Shark large round dual bristle brush to the small Dyson round brush (which is intended only for bangs or curls at the end) instead of comparing to the Dyson smoothing brushes which are magical with the Coanda effect that acts like a magnet to keep your hair against the brush as you're styling. They can shape and smooth even the thickest frizziest hair with no damage. Just compare the amount of hair collected in your Shark round brush after styling your hair, to the hair left behind in the Dyson smoothing brush. You may find only one hair, maybe two in the Dyson smoothing brush, if any at all. Shark only uses the Coanda effect on the barrels. Dyson uses the Coanda effect on all the attachments (except the small round brush). That's why the huge difference in price. Shark needs to come out with a smoothing Coanda brush. Then I'll be able to use it again. If you have lots of hair to spare and aren't concerned about hair thinning, then the Shark is for you. That wasn't the case for me.
You can buy the attachment, I saw online for $29&up each attachment.

Jackeline, when you said you like the older dyson airwrap barrel, are you talking about those very short barrels that dyson put in their first kit years ago?
When you held up the original dyson barrel (the gray & pink barrel), it looked a lot longer than the old dyson shorter barrels. I am wondering, did you buy the original colored (gray & pink) barrel that is longer than the original short barrels?
Correct! I bought separately the long barrels for the my old Dyson, the new one you have the choice of long or short barrels and they come in bottle widths. Hope this helps and have a Merry Christmas! ✨🎄

Now you put me on the spotlight ha! 😅 In all honesty, if they were both the same price, then most likely Dyson, but not because of performance, in fact I have used the Flexstyler 2 more times since my first impression and I’m not missing the Airwrap at all. Anyhow my first decision is because I have so many products from Dyson from vacuum, to dryer, flat iron, you name it, so I have the experience with the brand more than what I have with Shark. The only thing I recall I had from Shark many many moons ago, back when I was in college I think it was an iron. Again my answer is based on the amount of time I have been using the brand, aside to that I have had my first Airwrap for 4 years. Thank you for asking!

I already have the air wrap and I can’t get it to smooth my curly hair Is it worth trying the shark ?
Hi Audra! I think it is worth it but more than anything, I think you may need to try other hair products to hold your style. First I suggest cleansing your hair with say an exfoliant, sometimes build up of product, although not visual it can lead for your hair to relax and don’t hold a style. I suggest checking the brand Color Wow and Oribe, you can even go to Sephora and ask first for samples and use one full set of products one time and see how it goes, you don’t need to buy the full bottle (s) I know how to make my hairstyle last for 4 days. Also and although I love Olaplex and truly recommend, I know every time I use Olaplex, my hair style will not last, yes my hair is soft and I love it but my style goes bye bye in one day. Sorry for the lengthy response, we should have gone together for some coffee lol! 😅
Which one is gentle and less damaging? Shark or dyson?
They are both super gentle, the only attachment that you may have a true preference will be the round boar bristle brush from Shark, or the nano style by Dyson. Thank you for asking!

I wanted to get the Dyson but I just can’t justify the money…
I use a round blow dryer brush and then throw in Velcro rollers..
Now with the new shark for half the price I’m very interested….. what’s holding me back is the round brush attachment. I need the round brush that one is too big for shoulder length hair… that big round brush will only work on long hair. Maybe I’ll wait it out and shark will put out a smaller wand and round brush….
The question is will I have the patience to wait it out?😬…. I don’t know I am pretty weak when it comes to purchasing🫣
