I agree the SARX035 is the better watch (on paper at least). You raised many good points. But I still kept my SARB because I prefer the handset and the 38mm size over 41mm. The minute and hour hand shape and the sewing needle seconds hand stole my heart. Sometimes you just gotta go with what your heart prefers. It also helps that I bought the watch for $300 before it went up in price.
Hey David, yeah I agree, the heart wants what it wants. It definitely seems like size is the main reason people are preferring the SARB. You are one of the lucky ones to get it for $300, that's for sure ha! Enjoy and thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one! 😎🍻👍
I own both the SARB033 and 035, and I love them both (in fact I am wearing my SARB033 right now, bought it used for $420). You raise a lot of valid points here, the AR coating is really lacking from the SARB and the bracelet does look a lot better on the SARX. But since watch collecting isn't necessarily about what makes sense on paper, I'll stick to my SARBs (the heart wants what the heart wants). There are many things I like better on the SARB, like the hands, the indices and the size. Great review nonetheless! Happy New Year my friend 😊
Thanks for sharing your feelings on the Sarbs, Aviv! I agree, the heart wants what it wants. I too loved the SARB in vids but after having the GS on wrist, I felt the SARX was closer to it overall so I think maybe what we experience first leans us toward one or the other. Happy New Year brother! 😎🍻🙌
Hey Doug, glad my video was helpful! Yeah that bracelet is next level, almost like a Grand Seiko, dare I say haha. Enjoy the SARX once it arrives man! 😎👍🍻
Man , if the sarx was 38mm and had lume, it would be an easy pick for me. I Like the Sarb for the proportions; they feel more timeless. A better bracelet on the Sarb with AR coating would be perfect. I've gone with the sarb with my eyes open on this one. Great video!
Thanks! I can definitely agree with those upgrades it would have nailed it too! They are both great in different ways though, and I’m glad you enjoyed the video, Ashur! 😎🍻👍
That dial looked like a lacquer dial yet it has that coffee hue sunburst. AR coating on the baby GS is a huge plus and that bracelet! You sold me bro. Never knew this piece existed actually. Nice job buddy!
Thanks my man! Yeah I had no idea a sunburst dial could have that effect and the GS is what made me pull the trigger on this one, otherwise I’d probably have a SARB myself! Appreciate you sharing your thoughts brother! 😎🍻👍
Fantastic episode buddy! As a multiple sarb owner and fan boy I can say I agree on everything you’re saying man. The sarx brings a lot to the table! It’s a GREAT piece for the money. Fantastic breakdown of the two pieces comparing each of their attributes 👊🏻
Thanks man! It was a fun vid to make and I am certain the love for the sarb will remain unchanged, I just wish I could have picked one up for $350 back in the day! Cheers! 😎🍻👍
I know I'm two years late to the party but the SARX is superior in every way and contrary to what all the sarb fanboys in the comments claimed it definitely isn't a dress watch. I had the SARB but it was too small so I sold it and now own the larger (and superior imo) SARY057 and SARY 055 which I paid less for both together than I sold the SARB for. My friend has the SARX and I will definitely be picking one up in the near future.
I am not a watch enthusiast. I only wear one on special occasions or evenings out. I bought my SARB033 8 years ago, after looking and looking to find a watch that appealed to me and that fit both casual and dress events. When I saw the 033, its aesthetic just *felt right*. I don't know anything about Grand Seikos, so even after watching this video, my mind hasn't changed. The SARX is not very attractive to me. In fact, I'm now considering buying a second SARB as a backup in case mine ever kicks the bucket, because I hadn't realized they had been discontinued! The SARB is just my style.
i thikn sarx is higher quality. BUT, sarb's proportion, case shape, second-hand design is so much more elegant.. I still think even today. SARB033 is the greatest watch Seiko has ever made. (excluding grand seiko, altough some grand seikos' case are also too thick).
I sold a brand new sarb033 for $900 a couple months ago. The thing I don’t like about the sarx is the case size otherwise I would jump on one! I just picked up another new sarb033 with the stickers still attached!
Thanks, David! I've definitely enjoyed coming back to interact with you all in these comments! I am glad you enjoyed the vid and I hope you are having a great start to this new year! 😎🍻👍
I brought the Sarb033 in 2018! Is it worth it in 2022? TBH not really... i actually want it to keep it and enjoy it! I'm glad i brought it back then and i'd have to agree the bracelet is not great! But the watch fits me well and now i wish i had the white dialled version!
I own the Sarx035 and among a variety of watches, Certina, Tag Heuer, Tissot, Victorinox, Bulova, Citizen, and Seiko including spb143, spb243, the Seiko SARX035 is still my favorite. The prices now are about $800-900 for sarx and $1500+ for sarb, that seems ridiculous. To each his own. Both are nice, I'm glad I got the sarx.
Absolutely! The prices on these pieces have gotten insane haha, and all of the other brands you mentioned are all great in their own ways for sure! I did end up selling my SARX035 as I just would not reach for it that often, opting instead for my Tudor BB41. Still a beautiful piece imo and a great one for any collection out there. Cheers! 😎🍻👍
I agree on all the points except for the diameter size. 38 mm is the sweet spot for a dress/casual watch. I would argue that the Citizen NB1050 or NB1060 is a better choice on most of the items on the spec list. Citizen needs more love on the watch community and this specific model is a stunner and 38mm in size!
That’s a good point, I have only seen a few citizen watches in person and never owned one so they definitely deserve more love. I appreciate the recommendation and comment! Cheers! 😎👍
Thanks so much JP! I am glad you enjoyed it and again I’m sorry for such a long gap between vids! Looking forward to many more coming soon! Happy New Year my friend! 😎🙌
Thanks Bob! I am thinking about letting this one go, but not sure yet. I really enjoy it, but my Tudor gets more wrist time and I just don't know if I'll wear it as much this year, we shall see. Hope you had a great New Year man! 😎🍻👍
You really made the SARX look so good! It seems like the SARX really is a much better deal with all the cool features and the beautiful lacquer dial (the shine reminds me of your Tudor Black Bay). The size is a downer for me, I'll stick with my sub-$100 SNKL45 at 37mm. 😂
Thanks Eve! I think for the money these pieces go for, you gotta go SARX, but yes for smaller wrists I think the SARB is still the better option and since you can’t get them for their value prices anymore that SNKL45 is a banger for the cost! I could rock as low as 36mm so I’m with you on that! 😊🍻🙌
Hi Elmo! Happy New Year my friend! Yep I’m back but uploads will still be a bit slower, however, I’m hoping to start pumping out more content quickly soon! Thanks for sharing your thoughts between these two! 😎🍻👍
I think you made some really good points here. For me it was 2 things that made me go with the SARB: size and price (paid 450). And one of them is still there ;-) I like the idea of straight up comparing them though.
Thanks, Jakob-Matthias! I think for sure at $450 its an amazing deal and I agree the size seems to be the deal breaker for many. 40.8 (let's say 41mm) will definitely have a different wrist presence than 38mm. I am glad you were able to get one at a good price versus these crazy prices I'm seeing nowadays. Have a happy new year, my friend! 😎🍻👍
I really like my SARX035. AR coating is a big deal as on SARX it is one of the best I have seen so far. Also Diashield coating on SARX works really well and after years of wearing I got only some minor scratches.
@@DavidSchwartzjr , I am enjoying a lot dear , I am a teacher of English , and enjoy my job . I love watches , and your channel is my favourite one . You talk very nicely and give honest opinion . It was a hard nut to crack to criticize the hyped Sarbo 033 , but u did really well , and the new sarx is an excellent alternative . Keep shining bro
@@sarmadislamictv8433 Awesome! I always love to hear when people love their job and work to help others, and of course those who share a love of watches! Your comment has made my day! Hope you enjoy the rest of your week and enjoy future vids! 👍
Thanks brother! I can definitely understand wanting to have some lume on the hands. I think if the SARX had the same handset on the sarb, the only other thing would be the case width to worry about. Glad you enjoyed the vid! 😎🍻👍
True, I know the size is a deal breaker for some, but that extra $100 will really buy a next level of finishing imo. Hope you're having a great start to the new year, my friend! 😎🍻👍
Sarx is too round looking, the case lugs taper too much. Also I just picked up sarb for 650 and can only find Sarx for over 1k. I also prefer 38-39mm watch size the perfect size as I also wear the bb58. Sarx polishing and bracelet by far are better than sarb but the sarb case dimensions are perfect and balanced. Not to mention the dial on the SARB035 is stunning and classic. I think I’ll keep the SARB it will be worth more in future as well.
I like the SARX but I think the SARB is a better GADA watch. It’s got that the lume for day to day usage and it’s dressy enough if need be. The sarx in my opinion is too pretty, I don’t dress up a lot and if I do that’s what my srpb41 and my sary113 are for. Out of similar looking watches the SARV003 is an option I chose myself as well. It’s JDM but only has a 4r movement. But it’s got lume and 100m WR. It’s also day/date and less dressy with a printed minute track displaying every 5 mins.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience, David! I can see that appeal with the GADA factor of having the lume on the sarb for sure, and yes the SARX definitely has a more refined dressy appeal and look to it. Can be dressed down, but not as much or as easily as the sarb I'd say. Also I love that texture on your sary113 dress piece! Interesting piece with the SARV, I had not seen that one before so I'm gonna check it out! Cheers man! 😎🍻👍
I have done many, many and i mean many research regarding if I should buy a SARB but ever since I got a SARX045(blue dial) and a SARX047 (green dial) I think I made the better decision going with the SARX line. I feel that the SARX is an updated better version of what the SARB should be, yes they both have the same movement (6R15) and both are strap monsters but something about the SARX line up feels better, newer and cleaner to me in my opinion of course, to where I'm looking to buy the SARX043 aka the Tuxedo version so I agree with you David, granted I would love the SARB to be a part of my own collection but for the price of approximately $500 for a outdated look I'm better off saving a little more and getting even the new Sharp Edge series with the 6R35 movement and striking dial great review and I agree with you 💯
Hey Luis, thanks for your detailed experience deciding between the SARB and SARX line. Love the look of the SARX045 dial btw! I also have seen those Sharp Line series watches which are just stunning! I think I would be willing to sell my SARX and put that towards a Sharp Edge someday. Cheers brother! 😎🍻👍
I have a SARB033, and don't think I'll ever sell it, unless Seiko brings out a SARX035 in the 38mm size. I have an 8 inch wrist, but still think 42 is just too big for a dress watch. You're right, though, the SARB is a slightly sporty dress watch, and isn't finished at the same high level as the SARX. Sadly, the SARX is out of production, and is selling for $650 to $950, used, on eBAY.
41mm is just too big for a dress watch, i think they got it right for sarb, which measured at 38mm, make it perfect for both casual and formal and hence the versatility. It explains why it received so much loves from watch enthusiasts. Lume on the hands is definite the cherry on top of the cake.
Oh man! Oh man!!!! Lol you're going to hurt some feelings 😂. Great video bro! Killed it!!! Love the dial, finish, bracelet, AR coating on the SARX but love the size and handset on the SARB. for the price tho, no doubt the SARX is a better option.
Hehe, thanks bro! I think that's been the biggest line in the sand from what I've seeing/reading, the larger case size on the sarx is a deal breaker for some, even though overall its a much better watch for the extra $100. Cheers my man! 😎🍻👍
SARB033... the size, and was... the price. By the way check the Orientstar Contemporary RK-AU006. Similar to SARX in quality, but for the price of SARB. And smaller case. Also with a power reserve.
Yeah, I could see at the old price of $300ish that watch was a steal no doubt. I’ll definitely check out the Orientstar model you mentioned, I’m always interested in new pieces to check out! 😎👍
The Sarb bracelet is absolutely despicable. But I love the dial, the little step to the brushing on the lugs, and the dial is gorgeous. The size and shape are just perfect on the Sarb for me. So the Sarb wins off of style points. The Sarb is still less expensive as well. I’d be in love with either one though. Someday I’ll own one of them
I almost bought a SARB......then I got an SNE and the 38mm case is not going to work. Im just not a fan of smaller case. Looks like I'll be looking at the SARX instead.
The old saying of the heart wants what it wants, I enjoy matte and polish but the polish is definitely more high maintenance in terms of scuffs and smudges. 😅👍
Hey John! Sorry for the late reply bro! I will never understand why they only do JDM releases lol. They'd make a lot more money having them in the world markets imo hah. Glad you enjoyed the vid and thanks for checking it out my man! 😎🍻👍
Hehe, phenomenal pieces I can't wait to show you them side by side. The GS would be more loved I think bc of the smaller case dimensions, but the finishing is out of this world! Hope you are having a great start to the new year, Witt! 😎🍻👍
Thanks for chiming in as an owner of the sarb035, Joe! Was it the dial color only that keeps you from wearing it? I feel the white option can be a bit underwhelming to some, but I am curious on your experience. Also you got it at the right price at $360 for sure! 😎🍻👍
@@DavidSchwartzjr the white dial make the watch look so small , I also hate the humongous gap in the bracelet clasp so I put it in leather. I keep it because someday I might wear it as a dress watch .I don't know why I keep it, I keep all my watches I'm not a flipper but I'm getting the urge to sell a few watches.
Ahh I see, yeah I have experienced that with a couple pieces in my collection as well. It took me a while but I did sell a lot of the pieces I wasn’t wearing, sometimes the gap can be a dealbreaker 😬 Thanks for the reply Joe! I think whatever decision you make with the SARB, will be the right one for you! 😎👍
In my humble opinion , sarb 033 has a more beautiful case design and hands than those of the many grand Seikos . I know , it is a subjective opinion , but to me at least, sarb case design is matchless
I can definitely see in the comments here along with yours that the SARB is very much a beloved watch design, Sarmad! I may have to give the SARB an honest shot someday. Since filming this, I did sell my SARX because it was just not getting much wrist time even though it is a stunning design. I would reach for my Tudor BB41 instead every time. Cheers! 😎👍
Hey first of all great video, but I own both sarbs 033 035 and they are true cult watches forever in my opinion the sarx is also a good watch not a legend like the sarbs yet
I'm definitely with you there! I never pulled the trigger on an Alpinist, but they always catch my eye when I see them. I just don't think I'd wear it as much as I would like. Who knows though, I may need to sell this SARX and get an Alpinist someday to really find out! Happy New Year to you as well buddy! 😎🍻👍
Now I have to admit to missing the boat a bit with the SARB I never really understood what all the hype was about I mean its a nice watch but for me it doesn't warrant the choir of angels status it seems to have acquired. Now on the other hand I totally get the SARX i think it looks much more refined, the lack of lume is almost irrelevant as a true dress piece has no need for lume & the finishing on the hands & indecies more than outweighs the need for "night vision" so its the SARX for me without question 😁
Hehe, its definitely got a cult following for sure! I can understand the hype that it had when it was under $400 or so, but now, its just too much! I think some guys (myself included) saw vids on the sarb and how beloved it is and thought, I gotta get me one, but after having the GS on wrist, and discovering the SARX, it diminished my desire for a $500+ sarb. But I know others are gonna still love that smaller case on the sarb no matter what. Happy new year man! 😎🍻👍
I prefer the Sarb dial size and the dauphine hands look more sporty and dressy at the same time but I don't have any i have the SNKL45 cheaper version of Sarb 😅😅.
I have no interest in the Grand Seikos. I prefer divers and chronos. That said, I like the SARB better. The more rounded, full polished case and the lume inserts in the hands give it a more vintage look. The more plain looking bracelet is also more indicative vintage watches. 🙃Obviously I like vintage style watches. I love the SteelDive line-up of vintage Seiko dive homages. 100 bucks and you still get a Seiko movement.
Hehe, I definitely can understand the appeal with the more vintage aesthetic the sarb has got, for sure! Yep! I always wonder how seiko feels that their movements are being used in much better "seiko" type watches haha SD is a great one and I know the Islanders have massive praise and following as well for a bit more cost. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, kewrock! Hope you're having a great start to the new year! 😎🍻👍
Was thinking about buying the SARB033 back in 2019 when it was a bit less expensive but i ended up going for a cheaper option and ended up buying a g shock instead which is a very different style lol. Think i'm going to go for a Seiko Sports for my next watch since they aren't to expensive and closer to my style of watch. Think the SARB was a little to classy looking for me anyway lol.
The verdict is in: The SARX can't even tie the SARB's shoes! Those sharp edges on the case are hideous-like a 1980's station wagon. The SARB has the curves of a fine automobile, like a sports car, or even a beautiful woman. Would you compare a beautiful woman to a clunky suit of armour? That's what the SARX reminds me of-all boxy and unrefined. The SARX has no business even being mentioned in the same breath as the much more elegant and sophisticated SARB. But it's the 035 that you want!
@@LorianandLothric My comment came after the video was already a few weeks old. Most UA-camrs don't respond to comments that come that late because UA-cam doesn't always give notifications of them. I know because I have over 5000 subs myself and rarely get notified of comments on older videos, so I can't respond to them unless I go looking for the comments. Then again, he might just have figured it wasn't worth arguing over.
Where’s the Seiko lume?? Edit: sorry I commented before watching the whole video but still, no lume!? I’m sorry but that’s a deal breaker for me personally. Great video, cheers
I thought these 600$ sarb033 were listed at his price but never sold. But looking at sold listings on ebay, some are going for even more than that. There's even one sold for 900$. Ouch.
Yikes! $900 is just crazy imo! I think $450 is the most I would want to pay for one, but I think its just a matter of holding out and being patient, I've seen Sarbs go for way less than $600 on occasion and same fore the SARX. But $900...sheesh.
I can see why you’re so on love with the SARX! I honestly agree with every point you made and with the current state of the SARB prices, why would anyone buy it over this? The SARB was an amazing value prop at $350, but now there’s absolutely no reason to buy it when you can buy the SARX for the same price. Thank you for the shout-out, I like your screen saver 😉 and keep killing it my man ❤️ your video inspired me to create another video (I had no desire FYI) thank you 🙏
Thanks Miguel for both being cool with me using your SARB vid to reference and also for the kind words! I’m glad this vid rekindled some inspiration for you and I would have bought the SARB at $350 even if I didn’t know the SARX existed hehe. But for $600 ima go SARX all day! 😎🍻🙌
You didn't even have to pay $350. I bought a SARB017 Alpinist from Massdrop back in 2016 for $339.99 + shipping, and "plain" SARBs were cheaper than that, less than $300. $275 even. If I had to spend any more than that for a used watch (and as you all know, one certainly would have to these days) I'd go for the SARX035 (and I did, last year). The SARX035 set me back about $600, which is more fair considering what it cost new.
I onwn a sarb0033 i bought at his regular Price, about 300€. I love it but i admit i don't understand what so many people are crazy about it. If i would have broken or lostt my sarb, i'd buy it again for sure for let's say 400€. Noo way for 600€ ( or only If some nostalgia feelings comes to Blur my mind)
You have the wrists to wear the Sarx. It is also going up in price because of discontinuation. Both were a great buy but the handset on the Sarb is just nicer imo. They both aren't dress watches with that date. So lume is a bonus for me. The Sarx will however never be a future Seiko classic. So get the Sarbs while you can.
Great video and valid points overall. I bought the SARX after watching your video with a friend, you sold me - but, I re-sold it. I loved the bracelet, but the size of the watch was just too large for me. I also preferred the indices and second hand on my SARB. I have aftermarket Uncle Seiko bracelets on all 3 of my SARB’s (033, 035 and 037). They fix the bracelet problem. Now if the only made a SARX with a salmon dial…..that’d be one worth clamoring for. Thanks so much for making this video.
I have to agree with you, gent! Even biting the bullet to buy my SARX was bit tough, considering for that price I could have gotten a LOT of other watches. I do plan to eventually sell the SARX as lovely as it is, I just don't wear it as much as I had thought I would have. Cheers my friend! 😎🍻👍
Going to have to disagree here. The SARB033 is all-around a nicer-looking watch. The hands alone elevate the SARB as they are much more interesting to look at. Better all-around proportions too. Is it work $500 to $600? Probably not, but worth is subjective in the watch market. Look at what people end up paying on the grey market for Rolexes for example. If I was in the market for one, i'd kop the SARB.
I've been looking for a sarb(ESC) watch because the prices for the sarb second hand are shocking,I looked at the sarx but the price here in the UK is pretty crazy,I've also looked at the islander isl36 and an even cheaper option (not as refined at all) Seiko snkl41k1 and a lovely little watch with a kinda sarb side profile the relio solstice, but I totally feel you Dave 😉👍
Thanks Trip! Yeah, the prices are just nuts at this point lol. I am sure you've seen those szsb012 which is like the reissue of the SARB for $350, but it has the 4R movement instead, has hardlex, and is 40mm so its still not as good a value imo. Just gotta keep your eyes peeled for the perfect deal man! Happy new year my friend! 😎🍻👍

Sarx is one dimensional watch! dress only. As for sarb is much more versatile and can either be dress up or casual. Plus the dimensions are a goldie 🔐 lock. Sarb all way😎
Fair enough, I can agree the SARB leans a bit more towards the casual side in comparison to the SARX. Seems I wasn't able to convert as many sarb lovers as I was hoping ha, thanks for sharing your input, Felipe! Cheers! 😎🍻👍
If you look at this dispassionately the GS seems even worse. Are the extra refinements really worth 12x the price? Makes the $100 difference seem quaint. But alas this is the nature of the beast.
Thanks Norm! Yes, I can't wait to do that side by side comparison with the GS to show how close it is, and yet, how the GS is still miles ahead in quality. Happy New Year man! 😎🍻👍
@@DavidSchwartzjr the only reasons I can think of as to why somebody would pick the SARB over the SARX would either be small wrists or versatility needed for a 1 watch collection. The SARB is a very well rounded watch and was a great starter point when it was priced in the $300 range. With current prices, I wouldn't recommend it anymore sadly.
The reason people like the Sarb is because of it’s size. It’s small and the Sarx is alot bigger on wrist so I wouldn’t say that the Sarx is a Sarb killer. Also the Sarb is only 44mm lug to lug and the Sarx has male endlinks so it wears so much bigger.
Yeah, seems like size is always the deciding factor for those who prefer the SARB. I don't recall saying in the video that the SARX is a SARB killer though. I do still feel its by far the better watch of the two and I can wear either size on my wrist so that's probably why I feel that way and don't lean towards the SARBs smaller size. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one! 😎🍻👍
I own SARB 033, 035, 007, 009 and the salmon dial. Sarb is better than sarx as it hits all the good points in terms of wearability, comfort, case shape and the cult following it has. Sarb will always win. No one cares about zaratsu polishing as that will show scratches quickly and once that happens, zaratsu will be irrelevant
I am a sad panda...hehe, just kidding, but it definitely seems I just can't convince you guys! SARB has legendary status. That I have learned! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, mplsmnpi! 😎🍻👍
The size difference of these two watches makes this entire video completely useless... 41mm is just too big for this type of watch but Seiko and Grand Seiko have always been completely out of touch when it comes to their case sizes...
I am not a fan of either. Not a dress watch guy. Have a couple Tissots for that. To me, its a $150 watch. No interest in these, especially at the highly inflated price.
I can definitely respect that, B! Its kind how I feel sometimes with certain digital watches, I like the look, but I just don't really wear them often and I would never spend $500 or more for one. The prices are definitely inflated on these after market ones and for $400-$700 there's TONS of options out there. Love that you got some Tissot dress pieces though, great brand right there! 😎🍻👍
Well, I may not agree that Seiko just flat out sucks (they do have some terrible models and aren’t as much of a value as they used to be), but I can attest that I definitely reach for my Tudor watches and my Blancpain 5015 so much, I hardly wear my Seikos these days. 😅
I think you made some really good points here. For me it was 2 things that made me go with the SARB (035 but anyway): size and price (paid 450). And one of them is still there ;-) I like the idea of straight up comparing them though.

You just convinced me to finall pull the trigger on the SARX. You’re the only reviewer that I’ve seen showing the straps. Reaaaaally nice
Nice to see you back Dave. Happy New Year. Very informative review.
Cheers! 😎👍
Fantastic review and possibly your best ever. Well worth waiting for. Happy New Year. JP
Thanks so much JP! I am glad you enjoyed it and again I’m sorry for such a long gap between vids! Looking forward to many more coming soon! Happy New Year my friend! 😎🙌
I let my sarx go awhile back but it's an awesome watch. May have to track one down again sometime. Thanks for the vid!
Hi Dave, are you back? I love both but I think it will have to be the sarb. Happy new year 🥳
Here comes another great video . Wow bro 💖 proud of u since the very first video . Stay blessed
Thank you so much, Sarmad! I really appreciate that and I hope you're having a blessed start to this new year as well! Cheers! 😎🍻👍

Dang the SARX is nice but I’m a lume fanboy. Great comparison 🙌🏼🙌🏼 SARX really does it better
Thanks brother! I can definitely understand wanting to have some lume on the hands. I think if the SARX had the same handset on the sarb, the only other thing would be the case width to worry about. Glad you enjoyed the vid! 😎🍻👍
The SARX is obviously better but it’s also pricier and it’s 41mm
Great video bro 💯 facts!
Thanks P! I appreciate you my man! 😎🍻👍
Sorry I still like the SARB better. The rounded case, the handset, the size and the applied logo do it for me
I like the SARX but I think the SARB is a better GADA watch.
Cheers man! 😎🍻👍
@@DavidSchwartzjr the sarv was great at scratching the itch of a seiko with those looks for under $200
Is there a quartz version of this watch ?
Not that I am aware of at this time.
@peacefulvibes2643 the SUR311P1 comes pretty close
Hi, the 033 is 38mm, perfect, I agree with you but the sarx at 40mm, just a bit large nowadays?
41mm, which is even worse. It's a dealbreaker for many.
I don’t like the polished surfaces and link areas. 🤷🏼♂️ . I love a matte watch more like the SNXS line even though it has the weird crown placement.
The old saying of the heart wants what it wants, I enjoy matte and polish but the polish is definitely more high maintenance in terms of scuffs and smudges. 😅👍
Wow very nice Dave! I love the JDM Seikos and Orients! I have been going down that route as well, there are some great pieces out there!
Hey John! Sorry for the late reply bro! I will never understand why they only do JDM releases lol. They'd make a lot more money having them in the world markets imo hah. Glad you enjoyed the vid and thanks for checking it out my man! 😎🍻👍
Great Video!
Thanks Kevin! Glad you enjoyed it! 😎🍻🙌
I don’t have a horse in either race…but maybe I will after your GS/SARX comparison!
Hehe, phenomenal pieces I can't wait to show you them side by side. The GS would be more loved I think bc of the smaller case dimensions, but the finishing is out of this world! Hope you are having a great start to the new year, Witt! 😎🍻👍
I have the sarb035 i bought it new for $360 and never wear it , I should have gotten the black dial 033.
Cheers! 😎👍
How can I argue with that comparison. I'll take that glass of milk now lol 😂
LOL! Thanks brother, glad you enjoyed this one! 😎🍻👍
Hey first of all great video, but I own both sarbs 033 035 and they are true cult watches forever in my opinion the sarx is also a good watch not a legend like the sarbs yet
Happy New Year Dave, I'll go with the SARX over the SARB but I'd go with the SPB Alpinist over both 😎👍🍻
I'm definitely with you there!
@@DavidSchwartzjr happy new year Dave.👍🍻
I like that the uploader didn't even respond to your comment lmao

Where’s the Seiko lume??
Edit: sorry I commented before watching the whole video but still, no lume!? I’m sorry but that’s a deal breaker for me personally.
Great video, cheers
short answer, yes
@@luobomu9747 😯
It’s an amazing example of what Seiko can be. But it’s not worth 600.
Sarx is too dressy /flashy /big. I'll keep my sarb033. Only paid £260 for it in 2018.

According to chrono24 the sarx is taking off
Sarx is one dimensional watch!
Cheers! 😎🍻👍
If the sarx was 38mm then it would be better but its just too big for a dress style watch sarb033 for the win…
Sarb is more GADA but totally agree with on the bracelet. It’s garbage
I paid $357 for mine. $400 seems excessive. Anything more seems insane.
😬couldn't do the Seiko for the same reason I buy cheap sunglasses lol I break them. So the Sarx it is 👌
Hehe, yup I love me some cheap glasses, I somehow manage to always scuff them up lol. I feel ya on that one bro! 😎🍻🙌
If you look at this dispassionately the GS seems even worse. Are the extra refinements really worth 12x the price? Makes the $100 difference seem quaint. But alas this is the nature of the beast.
wow! The SARX is just GORGEOUS! Super GS style. Love it. Excellent review, loved it.
Thanks Norm! Yes, I can't wait to do that side by side comparison with the GS to show how close it is, and yet, how the GS is still miles ahead in quality. Happy New Year man! 😎🍻👍
@@DavidSchwartzjr Oooo Yes! A side by side will be brilliant! Happy New Year to you as well!!
SARX is a much better finished watch for only a little more money.
I still stand by that statement to this day, Steve! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one!
Sarx just doesn't look as good as the sarb, plus the sarb bracelet is so much better..
I am a sad panda...hehe, just kidding, but it definitely seems I just can't convince you guys! SARB has legendary status. That I have learned! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, mplsmnpi! 😎🍻👍
@@DavidSchwartzjr thanks for your hard work making the video.
I have the 33 but I have never put it on, I have several gs and rolexes but the 33 has something special about it. Its like the perfect cheap watch..
Seiko sucks pal, if it ain't Swiss it ain't shit.
Well, I may not agree that Seiko just flat out sucks (they do have some terrible models and aren’t as much of a value as they used to be), but I can attest that I definitely reach for my Tudor watches and my Blancpain 5015 so much, I hardly wear my Seikos these days. 😅
Let me buy your sarb for $300
you dont nothing about sarb035
lol, no YOU no don’t nothing anything
I think you made some really good points here. For me it was 2 things that made me go with the SARB (035 but anyway): size and price (paid 450). And one of them is still there ;-) I like the idea of straight up comparing them though.
