This is so helpful because I walked into a store with no plan and grabbed 1 vinyl I wanted the least and I was overwhelmed by the prices. Now I will keep these in mind for next time!

A lot of good sensible advice BUT don't start collecting vinyl to be hip. Buy it to listen to. not for dinner party or background music, streaming does this better. Due to a change in personal circumstances, I had to sell my record collection, turntable, and dedicated phono stage and go fully digital. I miss them. I now stream from Tidal via Roon (or CD rips and Hi res downloads) through a pretty good DAC into my old amplifier and speakes, I can and do enjoy music as presented by this system (especislly with a couple of beers) but for me, I miss vinyl. Disclaimer..... in the early days of CD, as a convert to CD, I went to buy a turtable to play our thirty or so LP's alongside our top of the line Technics mini system. I returnrned Home with a Linn LP12 and with the full approval of SWMBO'd, CD player was sold and hi fi wa built around the turntable (back in the Linn/Naim days) A last thiught, ears are analogue. A second last thought, When I was buying vinyl, LP's were Cheaper than CD's and nowhere near the cost today, so if you're an impoverished music lover, then use a high quality lossless music provider.
Your mileage will almost cerainly vary.

Awesome comment and expertise to share. Sorry to hear about having to sell off your collection and setup but I totally agree with you regarding a high quality streaming option and DAC. I’ve seen some tube amp DACs out there as well!

like the sound of vinyl records... For example one can hear the cymbals of a drummer...

I agree, the sound of analog is phenomenal , especially when the mastering is done exceptionally well

I’m a soundtrack collector, and I am pretty sure very few will regret picking these up:
    1) Inception
    2) Jurassic Park
    3) Almost Famous
    4) Baby Driver
    5) Drive
    6) Singles
    7) Gladiator

    9) Forrest Gump
    10) Shawshank Redemption
