I did an almost 2 year campaign with my group. I made an arena style game. I threw all types of monsters and creatures at them. Building this hostile environment and making the villain very known. At the end of the campaign I was expecting a big fight scene and the players disagreeing with the villain. I spent about 3 months preparing for this combat. I had environmental damages. Every 5 rounds the environment would send reanimated past/fallen characters to help the villain. I found a sorcerer lich that I really enjoyed so that was the main villain. The moment the villain entered the surrounding area to start the final fight. The players laid down their arms and joined the villains side.
I just got this and the random tables book amd I absolutely love them both! The art is amazing and the information is straight forward and organized. I enjoy the way they separate dm notes and read aloud info.
How did I miss this video @FlintFireforge? These books are full of fun ideas for GMs. The one-shots are cool, too. Have you GM’d any? I only have the Random Encounters edition in print so far.

Wow! That is heartbreaking and just a little funny. I bet you were like, "You do what?" 🤣

Yes! All of this.
DM's, how many times have your villains been one shotted or killed without getting an attack?
