    • @LaserEverything

      In theory you could, sure! It is going to be really tight and another layer of challenge, and you'll need to be prepared to knock them out consecutively without moving the ring to keep alignment.

    First of, thank you for this video!
    I recently bought a 30w fiber laser (ComMarker B4) and also joint the LMA.
    Because I have another laser machine I use LightBurn. I downloaded the libraries for LightBurn but I'm not sure what to set differently for photo engraving on yellow 14kr gold?
    In the video I see some EzCad settings that I can't find in LightBurn.
    Or can I just do:
    - load in the base photo, assign the photo base settings, do the pass
    - assign the cleanup settings, do the pass
    - load in the photo1, assign the detail settings, do the final pass.
    Thanks!

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  3 місяці тому +1

      As you've surmised the process is very similar in LB. If you don't know what LightBurn sub-layers are in cut settings check that out. It would save a good bit of work compared to the process you're describing above! But yes, that would work fine!

    • @HenkJanBaard
      @HenkJanBaard 3 місяці тому

      @@LaserEverything Thanks, I also looked at sub-layers. But for photo engraving, I don't see the option (I checked Mode: Fill and than sub-layers are visible/selectable). So I ended up with 3 layers: 1. PhotoBase = Y/R Photo/1 Base; 2. PhotoBase (copy) = Y/R Photo/2 Cleanup; 3. Photo1 = Y/R Photo/3 Details.

    is it possible to apply the base and the clean up in one run?

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  Рік тому

      You could have multiple layers/hatches that apply in one run, absolutely. In ezcad, it's not really the most user friendly and we find a lot of people have a hard time with multi-layer, but if you're using Lightburn, it's much much more intuitive.

Also, what are your thoughts on engraving / black marking sterling silver? We are currently laser marking our sterling but what we have found is the mark does not hold up well over time. The mark on some of the plates for our necklaces seems to simply "rub off" after just a few months. Pretty sure we have a 50W laser. Thoughts? Thanks again

    What can we do with the frequency if we don’t have the range? Mess with the power?

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  3 роки тому

      I usually recommend going as HIGH as possible, then defocusing can help make up the difference *a little bit in certain situations* but I haven't tested it specifically for this use case yet.

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  2 роки тому

      I use what we call the "community version" which has some ram fixes and a couple other improvements. It's available on the discord server if you ask for it. Runs much smoother than what comes from the manufacturers in most cases.

      The differences between the later ezcad versions are very minimal. Definitely recommend the community version for almost everyone regardless of version number.

      Marks in this video over 100khz will require at least a JPT source so you can utilize the 100-200khz range as shown in the video but no, these marks are not MOPA specific. Just need the frequency range to accomodate some of them.

    hello I hope you are well, so first of all thank you for your content. so, for the power 57% for a 0.5Mm yellow gold plate it is too powerful and it damages the other side of the plate so I think that a power of 40% to 45% is sufficient.

    Hey Bro....Quick question. I have a 80 watt CO2 laser like the one you changed the laser tube and water lines on in a video. My chiller is a CW3000. I live in South Carolina and this was bought from a guy in North Carolina.He had it less than a year and only had about 20 hours on it. When I`m cutting a lot (of course) the temperature starts to climb on my chiller. After I`m done cutting I still let my chiller run a while to bring the temp back down. It`s never gone past 29 degrees Celsius but it takes a good while before it will come back down. Is this normal? Also it a has an alarm on it for high temp but I don`t know what it is set on and no way to set it that I see. What Ya think?

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  3 роки тому +2

      No not really normal. CW3000 is underrated for an 80w tube. You really need a 5200, there's a link to a legit one from cloudray in the buying guide: www.lasereverything.net/buyingguide
      It's probably FINE the way you have it set up but I would really consider upgrading if I were you.
      Then again some people chill their lasers with a paint bucket and a fish tank pump so... up to you.
      I recommend the upgrade though :P

    • @josephculbertson3555
      @josephculbertson3555 3 роки тому +1

      @@LaserEverything Thanks. I looked at them and can't really afford the upgrade right now. I got a Raycus 30 watt fiber laser on the way so after I make a few bucks off of it I'll get a new chiller. Thanks again.

      @LaserEverything  3 роки тому +1

      @@josephculbertson3555 No problem, like I said, the 3000 is better than the bucket and fish pump haha. You're probably fine. Just keep an eye on temps :P
