I think you should keep the butter dish that makes your heart happy ❤😊
❤❤❤
EXACTLY !
I laughed so hard at the clip of the Easter Bundt cake!!!
I know Pioneer Woman butter dish makes your heart happy, however think about this. When you have the butter sitting on the bottom half a butter dish and everybody is using their knife to pull it off to put it on their bread or toast, that means the bottom half is going to be messy. If it were me, I would just go ahead and buy another white one where the butter goes down in the container, because that keeps it neat and clean.
Pioneer woman butter dish for the win!!!! The pattern makes me smile! You’ll smile all the time when you aren’t even using butter!
It's clear the Pioneer Woman one from Walmart brings you a smile every time you see it. It's less expensive than the crock and it will perform the same task AND you'll enjoy it a lot!
My Dad’s friend would say- if you make it too hard, you just won’t do it.
I totally get spending all the time you are spending working out what butter dish to get. It will save you time and stress in the long run. Also I think it’s helpful for your viewers to see the process, right?
I just wanted to encourage you Dawn. It can’t be easy opening up your life and decision making to all of the internet.
We appreciate you and thank you for the sacrifices you make for us.
Lots of love ❤
Kate from Australia 🇦🇺
The Pioneer Woman butter dish sparks joy in your heart...I say that's the winner!!❤
The "can't talk because you are laughing with someone you love" is the best thing to watch, thank you!
There is something called a butter boat, like the butter bell. You can use full sticks of butter without the fuss of smooshing it in the container.
Keep the cute pioneer women one! Butter bell sound high maintenance. ❤❤ yeah for the cake stand!
Sue Wolfe- Use the one that makes your heart feel happy, Dawn. Life's too short. You didn't even know about the butter Belle before now!
The Pioneer Woman butter dish makes your heart happy, USE IT! Forget the butter bell! I tried one and didn't like putting the butter in. Enjoy the pretty dish. I have the same cake stand, it is perfect for your beautiful Bundt cakes!
Keep the pioneer woman dish. You light up when you look at it. Love you and your family. The Rusty Judgement video was good too. It's nice to see y'all getting out and enjoying life as well as working with us. I'd love to see you and Diana do some baking together. 😉
Thanks for the giggles. Keep up the good work. Love and light to you and your family. ❤
Thank you for the laughs! Your cake had a toupee😂. Happy Easter to you all!
The baking and cake decorating sisters. 🤣🤣I had a butter bell in the past and I ended up donating, to small of a vessel and I found my butter would mold. The Pioneer Woman dish is beautiful. I love the cake stand, great find. TFS Happy Easter. 🙏🥰👍
Pioneer Woman butter dish! It's super pretty, and your face lights up when you talk about it. Your face scrunches up when you try to fit the butter bell into your life.
How nice to have your wholesome content running in the background during a hectic and crazy day. I have a butter bell and while I like it, I end up not using it because you have to change the water out every day or so. I use the butter dish that matches my dishes. I actually want your deep butter dish with wooden lid. If you don't let the butter soften before putting it in the butter bell, it's too difficult to get the butter in there, and in that time they could wash the butter dish. 🙂 Good luck with your decision! Your fans await the outcome! I also tend to overanalyze every purchase.
Happy Easter Dawn!
P.S. keep the butter dish since it brings you joy and it will look great in your kitchen.
agree
Ditto
If something puts a smile in your heart, and it functions well for your family, keep the pretty butter dish!
I'm with her. Keep the butter dish Dawn. It makes you happy. You need something small that makes you smile. Dish the butter bell. It's your brain talking. Listen to your heart.
Omg this is the best! Love your laughter!
For many years I used a stray saucer for butter. Cut stick in half. Put half on and leave out. Easy to wash in diswasher and another saucer becomes new butter dish.
You can just buy spreadable butter with the oil in it and keep it in the fridge. 🤷🏼♀️
Love the cake stand bowl idea! Would be great for trifles.
Life is to short. The PW butter dish brings you joy! Get rid of all others and enjoy the joy from the piece of art, butter dish! Love ya, Cindy 💗😊
We just buy spreadable butter from the store. Land o lakes with olive ollil and sea salt. Stores in the fridge and pulled out and what we want to use when we want some butter softens up very quickly.
The Pioneer Woman butter dish and the cake stand are both things we need in our lives. Pretty and functional is all I ask of anything.
Though I remember Dawn talking about how much the flat dish with the lid bothered her. I wonder if someone makes a beautiful dish in the style of her other dish.
Agree
Don’t get the gadget (butter bell). Stay with the Pioneer pretty one. You’ll use it and the original one and be happy. 😊
The cake plate is also a punch bowl or use for fruit etc.. I have it and it’s great! Happy Easter all! 🌟✝️💕
I bought a beautiful butter dish with a lid similar to the pioneer woman dish. It's floral-china. I love looking at it on the counter. And it is utilitarian too!😊❤
@@spunkysagittarius87 We get those huge premade salads that require a huge bowl to mix them. The upside down cake bowl would be the perfect thing to mix it up in.
My daughter makes a dessert in the cake plate turned bowl: She makes a chocolate cake on a cookie sheet. Break into chunks. Cut up a pkg of Andy's candies in small pieces. Make chocolate pudding with less milk and add to small Cool Whip. Put a layer of chocolate cake in bowl. then a layer of the pudding mixture, then some Andy's candy, more cake pieces, more pudding and more Andy's. Looks great. Tastes great! I think you'll Love It!
You and Diana doing full-on belly laughs is my favorite thing ever :)
This is my brain about EVERY item that comes into our house. Like I get decision paralysis. "Is this easy to maintain? Is it safe? How does it impact the environment." Honestly it is exhausting. Thankful you gave us a peak into this decision process for you!
I vote you keep the pretty butter dish! It makes YOU happy to look at it.
No contest: pretty butter dish for the win! 😃 It not only makes you happy, the larger volume than the butter bell and easier filling for young kids actually makes it more practical. Triple win!
We have a cake stand with dome like that and it's always on our counter. I think it makes my kitchen feel like a fancy bakery or coffee shop! Anytime we have muffins, donuts or cookies, etc., they go under the dome which keeps them fresh and they look pretty until they are all eaten. So it gets daily use in our kitchen. Enjoy it -- not just for cakes!
LOve this idea!
I keep mine out also, but I add a paper doily for an added touch.
Oh! Lovely!
Dawn, I'm so glad you went back and bought the cake stand/multi purpose dish. It is beautiful and I think it was meant for you to have, use and appreciate. I think in your heart, you would have made do without it, but it's good to have things that you know you will use and that will bring you joy...and I think you might have been a little disappointed when you first didn't see it, and then realized it had been moved to the top shelf. It was just waiting for you to come back and take it home. Also, as I commented before, I'm all for the Pioneer Woman butter dish. It is beautiful and her things are so well made. The colors and pattern would be beautiful in your kitchen, and I think it would be like a ray of sunshine any day, but especially in those long, snowy, cold winter's you have there. It's very cheerful and I think everyone in the family would enjoy using and seeing it every day.
Dawn, use the cute Pionner woman butter dish. Its super pretty and makes your ❤️ sing 🙂.
The Amish butter keeper will be your favorite. I would donate the Walmart butter dish and keep the Pioneer Woman butter dish because it makes you happy.
🎂❤🎂I'm so glad Dawn got that cake stand!!!🎂❤🎂
Ever since reading the great book The Feng Shui of Clutter Reduction by Karen Kingston (highly recommend!), I've consciously used practical items and decor to increase positive feelings in my home (and also gave myself permission to get rid of things that made me feel bad, as Dawn also recommends). I love that no matter where I am in my house, my eye can fall on something that triggers feelings of delight, connection, warmth, inspiration, etc.
As an unrepentant collector of (selected) tea party-hosting supplies, I'm CHEERING that Dawn allowed herself the indulgence of a cake stand she likes that's not only functional and beautiful but to me symbolizes just a few of the things that make her such and admirable and lovable person:
- showing love for her family and community by baking beautiful, creative cakes,
- generously sharing her recipes and decorating tips in a beautifully designed bundt cake recipe book,
- donating all profits from sales of the book to nonprofits helping others.
Dawn rocks!
When I see that cake stand in future videos, I'm going to think of it as her award for being such an awesome, caring person who spreads light to others like the light bouncing off that cake stand. Cheers to Dawn!!!
Perfectly stated! 😊
@@plantsbythemoon9049 😃It's a pleasure to praise someone with Dawn's kind and helping heart!
A thought if you want to avoid having more inventory is when the butter dish needs cleaned you could use a rubber scraper to temporarily transfer the butter to a plate or a bowl just for the time needed to clean the butter dish and then put it back once it dries. Yes that's another dish that will need cleaned, but it saves money and space from getting another butter dish. Now you get to choose which one is the lesser evil. More inventory or a dirty dish?
Loved the bunt cake clip. That really made my day today!
Hi Dawn. A butter bell is most valuable in the summer, because the cool water keeps the butter from getting too soft. But it's a lot of work to pack the butter part, and to change the water regularly so that it's cool and clean. I think it's too big a commitment!
My heart is so happy that you went back and got the glass cake stand. When you said you didn’t see it initially, I thought maybe a kind subscriber that lives near you bought it and sent it to you. Even though that’s not what happened, I am so glad it’s in your home. It just was meant for you, in my opinion. Plus, it doubles as a bowl! Multi-functional - Win Win!
My suggestion is another one like you have. Keep in the fridge with butter in it, when the one sitting out is empty, it goes in the dishwasher the one in the fridge sits out.
Pioneer Butter dish makes me happy too. Just like I told my mom we are using the good china we r not saving it for dooms day lol
Team flowery butter thingy. Makes my heart ❤ happy too. I worked as a cake decorator in the past and I had an indecent amount of fun watching You decorate that cake. An it turned out really cute. 😊
Ohhh, I will absolutely donate $5 to that amazing cause! How wonderful to be able to make such a HUUUUUUUGE difference in so many people's lives!!!
When I had a butter bell the butter would fall into the water when the weather was hot so it went to goodwill. I see a lot of them there so there is that also.
When my butter dish is in the wash, I just put the new stick on a small plate with a glass mixing bowl inverted to be a dome cover until I can transfer that new stick to the clean butter dish.
But the pretty dish and the bell look like fun 😊
😂😂🤣 You two are just so DARN CUUUUTE! I was laughing so hard my husband thought I was sobbing, with tears rolling down my cheeks! I just love you guys and appreciate all you do for us with your creative videos! Thank you 🙏🏽🥰😍
I wondered who on earth would buy that butter dish and now I know!😂 I love that it makes you happy. Enjoy!
It has to be the Pioneer Woman butter dish because you just light up each time you look at it! ❤
OH MY GOODNESS!! I have the same white butter dish and I wash it all the time. Just scrape out the butter (with a knife or spoon) onto a plate. Wash the butter dish (takes no time at all). Then put the butter back in. I just did it yesterday! You are WAAAAY overthinking this! 😁 That said, if your “artwork” butter dish “sparks joy” 😂 then keep it!!
❤️ this video. Especially the part with you and Diana laughing. It made me smile. I can totally relate when my sister and I get laughing and can’t stop. Loved the video last year and swing it again. Doesn’t get old!
I say keep the pretty butter dish. It makes you happy and you will use it. Just put yourself in the cozy category for butter dishes. It’s ok. 😉
I say that life is short and if The Pioneer Woman's BEAUTIFUL butter dish makes your heart happy then buy it. I love your blog, thanks for all of your great ideas!
Less than two minutes into this video and I’m feeling overwhelmed in the best way possible. My husband and I adopted our son from GUATEMALA many years ago. It was the single best decision we’ve ever made as a couple.🥰🥰🥰 He completed out family and has brought us so much love, joy, entertainment and so much more. We started sponsoring one little girl from Guatemala and over the years have helped many other children from other countries as well. As you can tell I’m just elated that you have raised so much for such a worthy and close to home cause. Helping others in need is something that fulfils us in ways we never could have imagined.❤️🙏
This is so special ❤️.
I have a daughter from Guatemala. Love this. 🙏💗
I wanted a Butter Bell in the worst way the first time I saw them. About 5 yrs ago. We like our butter soft in the winter and not melted in the summer. The first one I saw you had to add water to. My family is not going to manage that! I saw some on Amazon & they are all pretty speedy and not as big as we need. I ended up getting one that looks like your white w/ brown lid and I love it. I also think the pioneer woman one is pretty too❤
We just keep our butter on a small plate. My great grandparents always kept their stick of butter out on a saucer as well. Uncovered and just chilling. My husband makes a mess with the butter, so I don’t bother to invest in a nice butter dish. 😂 I figured all 3 sets of my great grandparents lived to 90’s. So if they survived their butter that way then so can we. 🤷♀️
You clearly love the pioneer woman one! I vote keep it and enjoy! 😂 ❤
Keep the Pioneer Woman dish because you love it! It makes you happy when you see it so you should definitely keep it (especially since it’s so inexpensive)!😊
You can also use the base of the cake stand in other ways. One is to flip it upside down, fill the opening with dip and put vegetables around! Or put cookies (or doughnuts) on it and small flowers in the center. Nice for a gathering.
Our family has lived and served in Guatemala for seven years now. Thank you for loving on and praying for Guatemala.
Thank You 🙏
We made the Bundt cake of Jesus “cave” as the kids called it. And still was fun! Our tradition from your idea last year! Love this!
Green food coloring on coconut could work for grass.
Pregnant Diana eating your tomb rock is priceless! Happy Easter!
Diana is pregnant?
That video of them making the cake was from last year. So I think she was at that point
I think the pioneer woman is so beautiful for your kitchen and can be a back up! 😀
I’m glad you got your cake stand!
The Pioneer Woman butter dish is much more practical for a kitchen where kids are involved! And much cheaper, too! And you love it, Dawn!!!!'
With a butter bell you need to change the water every few days. The are nice but there is upkeep
Ohhhh...I didn't know that!
I agree. She shouldn't get the butter bell. It didn't work for us. Too much fuss and the butter would melt and fall into the water. Listen up, Dawn.
I agree too. I have the deep dish you have from Walmart-love it the best. Lid doesn’t get dropped and break and keeps the ugly out of sight. I like the look of pioneer woman, but it’s not as practical. Had a butter bell but in the heat the butter would fall out. It was also a pain keeping the water in the bottom.
Pioneer woman is the one for you. You're right about the cons of the butter bell. Open & enjoy your pretty dish.
I’m standing by my opinion of last week…definitely the Pioneer Woman butter dish. I was in Walmart after last week and saw it. Of course I thought of you, the friend I’ve never met in person!
"the friend I’ve never met in person!" Great way to describe how most of us feel about Dawn and her family🥰
This is my favorite cooking channel
I bought a butter bell and then donated it within a month. I prefer my glass butter dish similar to your white one. Your cake stand, in bowl mode, would look spectacular filled with a mixed berry trifle dessert for Independence Day.
Love how you are showing that your are as human and crazy as the rest of us❣️🎉😂
Your still not as crazy as me 🙄🫠🫣🙃🧐🥳
Oh. My. Word. I own that same cake stand and had NO IDEA it could do that! It's fabulous, btw, for keeping pastries moist. I use mine ALL of the time.
The pioneer dish has won you over! Just go for that one, the butter bell might be too much 😅
Plus, it’ll be a joy to maintain that pioneer cutie dish ❤😊
I absolutely LOVE my butter belle. I like that the water in the bottom of butter belle seals the butter. It's worth the money to me.
Me too! I see a lot of people in the comments saying they hated their butter bell, but I love mine. It does mean you have to remember to change the water every 3-4 days, but it's only 1/4c water and having easily spreadable butter is worth it.
Bahahahaha!!!! Too funny!!! The cake stand and the pretty butter dish together are very inexpensive and make your heart happy!!! I think its a win win!!!!!!
There’s nothing more fun to watch than twins when they start giggling together! My son-in-law is a twin and those two men crack me up - just like you girls did on this wonderfully creative Easter Cake!
U were totally in your feminine energy talking about that op shop cake stand 😅💝....it's ❤️😊
I have two butter dishes. It's nice to grab the clean one from the cupboard, put a fresh stick of butter in it as soon as I see that other butter is almost used up. I have owned several Butter Bells and thought they were a little inconvenient to use.
Forget the bell. The pretty one sparks joy, so keep it! Congrats on the cake stand. :)
I have 2 identical butter dishes and they work perfectly. I love that. I don’t have duplicates of very many things but occasionally they’re really functional, like a second bowl for my mixer.
I love the Pioneer Woman stuff - that whole line makes my heart sing too! The extra step of smashing the butter into the butter bell would keep me from actually using it - for sure my family would never do it, so it would just add to my mental load. My vote is for the Pioneer Woman dish!
Dawn, I had to pause the video to tell you before I forget! Okay, the butter bell is great IF you are the kind of person who enjoys the maintenance it requires, but if you're not, you'll probably find you don't end up using it. You have to soften the butter before packing it into the bell and you need to remember to change the water in it every few days. (You might also need a measuring cup to make sure you get the right amount of water.) I have one and I like it but it's more work than just putting the butter in a dish. I think the one you bought is beautiful and if it makes your heart happy you should totally keep it! 😊
Okay, I'm going to finish the video now...
I have to agree. I love my butter bell because it keeps the butter spreadable in summer and winter. However everyone I have recommended it to does NOT like it at all. It is a chore to add to your life and really must be kept clean (especially in the summer). Pick one up at the second hand store and give it a try sometime. In the meantime use the new dish because it will probably be perfect.
DAWN!! DON’T DO IT! I will bet you won’t like the pioneer woman dish after awhile! I have found that if your aim is off, you get butter on the lid when putting it back down! ITS MESSY…. Also I have a butter bell it sits on my shelf cause it’s pretty! It is a pain to set up! You have to soften the butter smash it in and change the water to stay fresh!! Also it only holds one stick! You probably need more butter for a family of six! I would invest in a cute vintage Pyrex dish, it has a a glass lid and would be cute sitting out! The teal would be perfect! Just my thoughts!,😊😊
I so enjoyed seeing you and your sister making that Bundt cake video again. I laughed so hard, just like the first time! Especially, when she said she had thoughts that maybe you guys would do a cooking show! And, by the way, that cooking/baking show would be awesome, because you guys are so fun to watch together! Happy Easter 🌸 🐣 🌼
I have had a butter bell, but now use a simple butter dish and am quite happy with the butter dish. I would not spend $30 on a butter bell, I truly don’t think it is necessary. The butter dish works just fine. The Pioneer Woman’s butter dish is beautiful and functional. That would be my choice, for what it’s worth. 😊
I'm glad you purchased the beautiful cake stand. My husband bought me a similar one years ago. I love it! It's definitely an indulgence as I only use it 3 or 4 times a year. But it's worth it! ❤
ALSO!!! You have to add water to the larger portion of the croc. This is what creates the seal on the butter when it sits upside down in the crock. You have to replace the water about every 4 to 5 days. To me it’s just too much work. Also, it’s only enough butter for one or two people in my home.
We keep ours, in an anchor hocking round glass container with a snap on lid on top of the fridge. The warmth of the fridge motor keeps it at the perfect temperature.
The crock originated in Europe, I guess they are minimalist when it comes to the spreading of butter. Lol
love your channel, Aileen
I would use the PW butter dish as decoration, so cute! In this season of life I could not commit to it as an efficient, useful object. It would be me cleaning up the sides regularly because the top would be put on carelessly. But if you don't have that concern and don't mind the commitment, go for it!
Keep the Pioneer Woman butter dish. It's beautiful and it brings you so much joy. It is art. Enjoy it! My daughter bought one of those butter bells and she didn't like it at all. Too much trouble.
The donations are absolutely amazing, this is why you are far and away my favorite UA-camr!
I vote you enjoy the artistic one now ("You have a bird in the hand") and be on the lookout for the Butter Bell before winter.
I have that exact cake stand. I asked for it about 28 years ago as a wedding gift. I love how many uses we’ve found for it over the years.
I have it too and love it! Thanks for helping me know approx how LONG I’ve had it!!
I have a glass cake stand, but I had no idea you could invert it for other uses.
Well I think you NEED that Pioneer Woman butter dish - ha ha!
You are also right about the black planter pots - bigger is better, and you won't need as many for visual impact.
I have two old wooden whiskey barrel halves which have some perennial flowers in them that make it through winter (zone 5b), likely because of the large size.
LAUGHING SO HARD at y'all making that cake! And it looks GREAT!
I have a butter bell. I use it only in the summer. We don’t have air conditioning and my butter would be melted all the time. The problem with the butter bell is making sure the water is changed every three days. This is why I only use it when it’s hot in the house. I don’t want to deal with the water changing. I do have 3 butter dishes, the butter bell only for summer, a vintage chrome one for fall and winter and a pretty one with flowers for spring until the heat hits and makes the butter bell necessary. The pretty one just makes me happy even though it totally unnecessary. It’s just my husband and I so we do wash the dish every time the butter runs out. Oh, you also have to make sure the butter is softened before putting it in the bell. If it wasn’t for the hot temperatures in our house I wouldn’t mess with the bell. It is a commitment. Enjoy your channel even though I am anything but a minimalist 🙂
I’m so happy that you went back and bought the cake stand. I am attracted to pieces like that, too. I think it’s the linear design that I like - it’s not fussy or floral, but has nice clean lines.
Butter bells are fantastic. When getting low, we leave a butter stick on counter to soften so we can put it into the bell when soft. Yes. You smash it in and swap it water every few days (cold water). However, if that a pioneer woman one makes you happy, USE IT! Having things in your home that make you happy is so important!
"Why is so much thought being out into a butter dish?? I know." 😂 Oh yes, as a deep thinker and now on my way to minimalist, this is the sort of question I ask myself often! But honestly, realizing how easily I bought things before, I am SO grateful for all of the deliberation.
Thank you for sharing the bundt cake "disaster" unfolding again, I laughed hard with you just like last time!! Ahh love you ladies, lol ❤️
Happy Easter to you all!! 🙏🏻
I have the same butter dish and I love it. When it needs washing I just put the butter on a plate, wash the butter dish, and then return it to the butter dish.
I got that cake stand as a gift and I have to admit, I really like it. You can make the prettiest trifle desserts when it’s in “punchbowl” mode, like berries and bananas layered with cake chunks and pudding or whipped cream for 4th of July.
I use a butter bell and have for years! You are right. A little effort goes into Butter Bell Butter - letting butter get to room temp, pressing into the bell - washing both pieces when it is empty (before new stick is pressed in) - Is it worth it? YES! 😊. The cake taker as a bowl - is genius!
You will never know how much I needed to see the cake decorating! I laughed so hard I was crying! You two need to have a comedy sitcom about your lives! It would be a hit! Thank you for sharing that segment.❤ Have a Happy and Blessed Easter!
I tried a butter bell. We live in AZ and in the summer, it gets so warm that the butter falls out into the water. Plus, you have to let a stick of butter warm up out of the frig to "spackle" it into the bell. Love the Pioneer Woman butter dish.
Aww…I love when U both make these videos!! The both of U R so good together!! The bunt cake is perfect!! I haven’t heard Dawn laugh in so long!! Did my heart good ❤
Keep your Pioneer Woman butter dish....it clearly brings you joy! Life is about the little things. We have the same white one with the wood top, and love it.
PLEASE do a baking series. 😂 I love it!
