    I’m also an elementary school teacher and hope my students learn this when they’re older hehe but I hope these adulting tips give you a taste of what adulting is like! If you’re even more curious about the topics I mentioned, there are so many videos on YT from other creators too💜💜
    If you could please help me by:
    1. Subscribing if you haven’t already 🥰
    2. Smashing the like button on this video 👍
    3. Watching the video all the way through👀
    4. Following my life on Instagram, too! @mayaleex3
    That would mean so much to me!

    I work in HR.... just some things to add to what Maya said in the job area. I changed my cover letters and highlighted my jobs that would transfer into the job I was applying for. Also NEVER disqualify yourself from a job, let the hiring managers do that. Before going into the interview look up online about the organization. You might be able to incorporate what you find during the interview. Also ALWAYS go into an interview knowing your 3 strengths and weaknesses, why you should be hired or why you applied for the job and how would you, your bosses and or coworkers describe your work ethic or yourself. Also I have repeated a question if I needed to think about my response or if I was completely stumped.

    I'm 26 this year and I'm sooo not ready for being in my "late 20". Don't have dream job, like i have no idea what to do, still living with my parents and having low payed job. Depression and anxiety doesn't help..

    • @BigDreamer2300
      @BigDreamer2300 2 роки тому +7

      I feel the SAME WAY, I’m 27 and feeling it right there with you. The piece of advice that I’ve been given, and often try to remember that has helped ease at least some of my own anxiety is that it’s ok. It’s ok to not know where you’re going, it’s ok to not be at the same place as everyone else. Everyone’s timeline is different, just because we’re not in the same spot as our peers (dream jobs, successful relationships, “living the dream”) DOES NOT mean that you are behind, it just means that our stories are a little more complicated and complex. There is no set timeline for life, you’re right where you’re supposed to be, right where you NEED to be for now, and one day we’ll find ourselves somewhere further ahead.
      I also want to add, maybe take a break from social media, or cut down on it. I’ve found that looking at social media can really weigh you down. Seeing all my old classmates and friends glowing lives certainly wasn’t helpful to me to not feel depressed over the place I was in/am in in my life. I know social media is only a small snapshot of peoples lives, and I can’t possibly know what happens behind the scenes, but it doesn’t mean that I want all there “successes” shoved in my face, it just made me feel more and more behind, and more and more like a failure. So I stopped using it so much, and personally it’s made me feel better, not to be reminded of where I was compared to everyone else. It was like a weight off my shoulders, and I could focus more on myself, and on not feeling bad for being where I am, for where I NEED to be right now. It may or may not help, but being in a similar boat, I figured I’d share since it helped a bit for me.

      @@BigDreamer2300 Thank you so much for this Actually..i needed to hear this today. You are right, using social media and watching all our old classmates are doing well nd living their dream life is the main trigger of low self-esteem, it's not like I'm jealous or envy them for what they have in their life ..it's just me feeling, why i am so behind nd slow in my life , why every good things happening to me slowly nd rarely. Yes i agree with your solution too I've done that nd it's very real, cutting down social media time and focusing on yourself giving no damn bout what your successful friends are doing in their life ..it's really u know ..breathable .. taking weight off of our shoulders. Let's just live our life Universe has different plans for us in future ♡

I recently got selected for an interview for a position I’ve wanted to work in for years (I let doubt and fear stop me before) and God opened the door this time! I would appreciate prayers since I’m excited yet nervous at the same time! I’m 24 so I feel like I’m finally taking the steps I need to for my adult life (always with God’s will being my first priority)! Thanks for the video big sis Maya! These are great tips! One small addition... lots of jobs right now are contract positions (in which you get a 1099 come tax time), where the employer does not have to provide medical/health benefits. Be sure to 1- have some sort of health coverage (I believe it's mandatory now) and 2- set aside taxes on those contractor checks so you don't get a shock come tax time

    My job uses direct deposit and they can deposit up to 5 different accounts. I set an amount that is designated for savings and I don't touch it or see it. So in my head I don't have it and I'm not tempted to use it. The rest goes into my checking and that is all I use.

      As someone who switched careers almost immediately after getting my bachelor's, if you are truly unhappy, just make the switch, even if it costs a lot now your happiness and success will be so much greater in the long-term. I found it is also way easier to go to grad school right after undergrad than to wait if you are going that route.
