Hi, Ate Sophie! ✨ I’ve been following you since your college years. I was in high school then and got inspired by your blog posts. sksksjjks I even followed your UPCAT tips! And here I am now, I just recently graduated from UP. Yay! 🌻 However, because of the pandemic, I really cannot focus on finding a job and I gradually became anxious about my future. I felt that the longer we’re on quarantine, the farther it is for me to succeed. But after some breakdowns (lol huhu) and reflecting, I’ve been enjoying this time off to do what I wasn’t able to during my undergrad years-doing my hobbies, discovering more of myself, and learning new things outside of my major. 😊 It’s really important to have patience especially now that most plans are put to a halt. Like what you said, all our journeys and timelines are different so there’s no need to rush or feel pressured. 💖
I rarely comment because I’m too shy to interact. Huhu! 🥺 But I just want you to know that I’m always thankful for your contents (esp, this vlog!!!) They’re really insightful and comforting. Lovelots, Ate. ❣️

Thank you so much for this, ate Sophie! I've been working now for 2yrs since I graduated in 2018 and I always find myself burning out as I constantly want to be at par or go beyond my manager's expectation (but gratefully I was able to reap what I sow) however it really take a toll on my mental health- I feel exhausted and sometimes demotivated. Your ate tips/advices allow me to retrospect and take things one a time and not overwhelm myself with too many things on my plate. Sabi nga nila work smart. Thank you also for emphasizing the virtue of patience. Things will fall apart in the right time. Biggest takeaway would be, growing up independently and taking up our own responsibilities are just one of the many things we can repay our parents from their sacrifices. 🙏💕

I was soo excited for this vlog of yours. It was insightful and it teaches you that you are who you are because of the choices you made yesterday. But what I really appreciate was when you emphasize the importance of investing in oneself. This is probably something we often forget, which is to invest in ourselves in all sorts of ways. I also love that you mentioned the importance of traveling as an investment related to discovering ourselves and the world.

Hello, ate Sophie! 😊 I want to emphasize how GRATEFUL I am for this video. Everything is so on point. Thank you so much! I'm still 19 but it feels like I'm already experiencing a mid-life crisis. Everything just takes a toll on me and I keep blaming myself why I can't keep up with the others. I just discovered your channel the other day and I can't stress enough how the timing is so perfect. Minutes ago I felt like I lost all hope but after I watched this, I now feel more motivated and wanna get back on track. We have the same life quote; everything really does happen for a reason. I need to be strong for myself and for others, esp for my family.
I'm looking forward to seeing more contents like this and the adulting series really sounds like a great idea! You're like the ate I never had and now, definitely my favorite youtuber. Keep inspiring people! 😊💖
P.S. I never really care to post comments but I felt the need for you to know how, in this simple way, you inspire me so much. I still have a lot to say but this is getting longer hahaha. Thanks a bunch! I never skipped the ads as you deserve it. :))
P.P.S. For expense tracking, my senior suggested me this app which is MISA Money Keeper because she also told me how being conscious on spending is an important habit I need to learn as early as now. It helped me get through my first year in college when I was still studying away from home. :))

Super agree on ALL you said esp on taking a break after graduating! During that gap month, I thought I was lagging behind and imposed myself the pressure to get a job just so I would have something to say… Quite affected my self esteem and overall mentality. Looking back, that time allowed me to explore my hobbies and assess what I want. That time really helped me become mentally and emotionally stronger 🤍 and luckily, landed me a job that while stressful, challenges me (in a good way).

Hi. I'm just a year younger than you. I worked immediately one week after passing the board exams. I didn't actually have the luxury to have a gap year and I was also afraid of not being able to find jobs if i took a lot of time off. A lot of companies (mostly big) are actually hesitant to accept fresh grads who had a long gap. Anyway, my first job actually helped me realize the career path I wanted to follow. I kind of feel bad that I sort of used them to have a work experience to increase my chance in being accepted in a bigger company, but these things do happen in real life. I'm currently working in my dream company and I didn't regret (as of now haha) any of my decisions in the past. There's no right way actually of discovering what you really want to do or where you want to work for. But if you do realize these things, I hope you'll take a shot and do your best to achieve these.

Hi Karen, thanks so much for sharing your story! This is very true, especially in the Philippines! As mentioned in my vlog, I think gap years are more acceptable in other foreign countries :) Many of us can't also afford to take a very long break and have to start earning.
I believe what you did for your first job to use it as a stepping stone is normal :) Happy that it all fell into place and that you are in your dream job!
Yes super agree! Life is too short to not go for what we want 💫

i hv one q, how do u deal with ur own wrong decisions? i mean, usually its easy for me to accept things that are out of my control. but for things which are in my control(eg making decisions over sumthing) its hard for me to forgive myself since IM the one who made the wrong choice in the beginning. ill go on and hate myself over this wrong choice of mine. any tips on this?

Also graduated 2016, magka batch tayo, so far I'm doing good just a few hiccups here & there throughout my previous job, kinda regret studying 4 years & working in the food industry, this pandemic has struck the industry so hard, even before the pandemic I've heard horror stories from people who quit their career as chefs & changed to a totally different one within the decade due to overworking & toxicity in the industry & an unspoken hierarchy, I'm forced to get a career change to an unrelated job from my course which is one of those work from home type of jobs, it's soul crushing tbh, been thinking about studying another 4 years again as a working student I'd like to study I.T. next year since the runway's still long now that I know what I really want to do as an adult, also heard it's future proof. Any tips? You look beautiful by the way.
