Toyota has. Just not for the North American market. It wouldn't have been great if Toyota had brought over the Blade Master and continued on with the Starlet in the late 80s and early 90s.
I love the new Corolla and your build but those fake chrome 'exhaust tips' look ridiculous. Better to have nothing there if the exhaust does not poke out the back.
They are a 3000 lb car. I don't think a smaller displacement, high rpm, engine is going to make it faster. I'd like to see what kind of difference porting, bigger cams, and a fully revised intake and exhaust system would do. But I'm sure that's not part of the budget.
Just stumbled into your video and glad that I did. I really wanna get a 2020 Corolla hatch so bad! I wanna go with Pearl white with black roof. Thanks for sharing, I'll keep watching.
im so glad you guys are modifying this Corolla, I really love the way they look and i thought they were pretty sporty when i sat in one. Now if Toyota could take a page out of your book and make a higher performance hot hatch version i would be sold!
When I first saw this car I thought it would be more of a girls car, now I’m actually thinking going to a dealer and checking it out for daily usage myself lol
I'll be honest with the wheels, wing, and exhaust you've put on it in the color it's turning out to be one sexy corolla... I've never said that before.
Man I loved the Corolla hatch since it was released. I e always had a sneaky suspicion that Toyota built a very capable chassis under that car and I was right. The flat undercarriage and chassis stuffing aluminum braces are very un-Toyota and very impressive indeed. I really want a Corolla hatch (words id never thought I’d say lol)
There are definitely aftermarket air intakes available.. Injen.. The car needs more power. All show, no go; but the show looks good. Concentrate on making more power.
You need the older, lower compression, 2ZR engine if you want to do any kind of actual performance modification. It's the one with aftermarket support like turbo kits, reinforced internals, supercharger kits, intakes, exhaust manifolds, etc.
These were all worth while upgrades to this car. I've liked the new Corolla hatch since day one and now have more reasons to look at purchasing one. (:
I own a 19 hatchback SE. I was the second one to have it in New England. Waited three weeks to get it from Japan. I put two tracks days on it at CMS in NH. And after two laps the brakes where gone and so where the factory tires. I had to preserve them as much as possible to get one to work while the other cooled off. I now have 50k on the car and its getting ready for another track day at thompson. The only mod it has is the TRD air filter. So now that I saw this video I will be doing the suspension upgrade but using the TOMS racing pads and new factory rotors. Also the factory rotors warped after two hot track days at CMS. One thing is that if your racing on higher speed tracks the CVT comes in very handy. I hit 115MPH on the front straight. The manual version is a second quicker to 60 but its slower at higher speeds. Also might look into the TOMS racing stuff for rear bracing as well.
Get it. I dumped my 2018 Si for it and I don’t have one bit of remorse. Ok I do miss the Sis handling and limited slip. But this corolla is a step above in quality
You could cool the air charge into the throttle body a little by replacing the factory tube that leads from the air box with some silicone tubing. Not much extra power, but it helps, and probably wouldn't be too expensive. You might even have a spare chunk of Vibrant silicone in the shop that would fit. It also fits with the DIY exhaust tuning.
So in one video y'all completely transformed this car. Very nice, absolutely LOVE those wheels, good choice on the Gold as well IMO. Coming together incredibly well! Keep at it lads.
