Man I'd kill to find another rwd Corolla. I had a guts coupe about 12 years ago. Loved it... so much fun. They are extremely rare where I'm from. I used to get asked multiple times a day if it was for sale. I made it into a winter project to turbo, suspension upgrades and diff. Acquired all the parts but then family issues got me so mad one day that I posted it cheap and it sold in like 4 hours. One of my biggest regrets. You a very lucky man Hurt, enjoy what you do and do it to your fullest for guys like me. I'm now a Dad and I make a lot of sacrifices for my daughter. Car projects just aren't in the picture. All you guys at hoonigan, "live life in the fastlane."

I think I might be more stoked on the Corolla. I've wanted one forever. Looks like everything is coming along great on both cars man, I can definitely appreciate how it's still going to be a simple seat time stallion with the K. Other than initially getting everything in and fabbed up it should be pretty simple to maintain and be crazy reliable. Plus if you break something, other than the few custom parts to get it installed, you can go to any parts store or junkyard and get parts stupid cheap anywhere.

Ae86 is great for a rotary or k24 or ls1 but I have always loved the driftworks ae86 with the lsx454 it’s a beast!
When I was stationed in hawaii I had a pig nose s13 with a sr20 red top. The swap was a hack job and a wiring mess. But after I had the wiring pulled apart and redone it was so nice and now I kinda wish I still had it (sad face)

With the corolla you should see if its got the 7 rib block or if its the 3 rib. If you plan on a good drift build you'll definitely want to get either black&red top or red top just for the 7 rib block.. possibly even do a 7age build. Thatd be badass!

It's a 5.7 Hemi stroked to a 370 (6.1) I had a 400 (6.6) 5.7 stroker but it hurt a piston and was getting old so I freshened it up for boost via a procharger

If it makes you feel any better Hert, my first car was an 86 accord and sometimes the car wouldn’t start. I could literally jiggle the driver tail light harness and it’d start right up haha old wiring I guess!

Gts converted AE85!! Hell ya man! I absolutely love the trueno corollas. Ive got a AE92 gts right now and its super fun to drive, even being fwd its still a blast to rip around in
why do you say 85? seems to be an 86?
Technically its still an 86 chassis, but the U.S. didn't get the "real" 86. We only got the 85s even the gts was technically an ae88 vs the ae86 in japan.
If its were a true gts it'd have a sunroof and would have ae88 in the vin number. The chassis numbers are all 86s though. Being an sr5 it'd have ae85 in the vin. Its just a technical term, but the real 86 was a rhd gt apex trueno

The fx is my favorite corolla. Id love to have one, but they're pretty rare in the area I live.
This highly interests me - had a pretty mint white RPS13 in the late 90s with a redtop SR. Blew the first SR, then installed a new redtop and sold the car before it would probably blow up again, lol.
Loved the chassis, hated the engine and never went back to Nissan after that. I had a few swapped Hondas in the 90s and the SR seemed archaic in comparison. Nowadays, happy ap1 owner currently.
Do yourself a favor and look at what SR20Det Red Tops are selling for, and then look at what K24’s are selling for... That should answer your question.
Hoonigan Project Cars They used to sell for $500-700 at most in the 90s. Never checked since then, because they suck and are unreliable, lol.
