That is so freaking awesome! It reminds me of the concept of land battleships where they built warships with catapiler tracks before tanks had really evolved. You took it one step farther and made it fly! That is so cool! I wish they actually had something similar in world of warships! Imagine playing a flying battleship! Crazy insane! One thing I noticed could be a rather simple priblem to fix. The battleship is tilted backwards, which can be remedied by adding weight to/displacing weight towards the front. This would also improve the speed of the boat, by focusing propulsion forward, rather than up. Still cool to watch, though. Good job.
On the battleship, add a matching pair of motors blowing over the rear wing to equalize lift and add a second battery forward. Blown wings fore and aft should give near STOL performance and weight forward should reduce the nose down control deflection required for level flight trim.

I have not had much luck with motors on canards. My hypothesis is that the thrust creates lift. This in turn pitches the nose up. If it were mine i would mount the motors on the "mid wings" closer to cg. That way the thust does not induce a pitching action. My 2 cents
new project... go big... real big... build a 1:1 replica of the wright brothers plane that achieved the first powered flight... needs to be as acurate as possible... so the control surfaces they had will be the only way to control it... you can use more than 1 motor for thrust, but no differential thrust allowed... then show us all what the design was capable of... that, fellas, is going to be a challenge...
Wouldn't be an accurate demonstration. The power to weight ratio of any modern engine would be many times better than what the Wright brothers had at their disposal.... unless your goal was to over power it and fly it till it came apart :0).
@@glumpy10 theres nothing which prevents a stipulation from being added which sets a limit on the available power output.... but more than that, our modern materials would outclass the wood and fabric they had during their time, a 1:1 reconstruction of the wright flyer would probably weigh a fraction of the original
not only that, but radio control didnt exist back then, and without a human onboard , a wright flyer built with modern materials would almost have positive buoyancy in air... i think a good challenge is to see just how small a modern power pack you can carry in a replica wright flyer, while still mantaining controlled flight, covering a minimum of 120 feet like the original first flight, and using the original control scheme of pulling wires

The problem, in my opinion, is the middle wing. Aside from the smoke stacks causing additional drag that middle wing is also creating drag. If you get rid of that structure, add more power, and let the ship have more ground time to accelerate before take off I think you'll see better results. Currently there are 9 surfaces that are wing like, only 2 have power
They should make a drone that can fly, drive on land, and float/move on water. So a plane, car, and boat in 1. I think that would be a really cool video! :)
Hey guys, you need about 10 degrees incidence on all the wings, and then get your CG right and use both canard controls on the front and elevator on the back. Then it will fly with the ship body horizontal then, and be fully controllable.
Two more small motor one on both back wing to help with power as well as pull the air across it. An a little noise weight to help with leveling. But all together love it beautiful design and looks great. Cant wait to see u guys get it in the sky!
I was watching some older videos and I thought of a good idea. The video was a water airplane, I want to see you guys take a water airplane and hook a fishing hook to it. Put it out on a lake and then when you catch a fish you can fly it back over to yourselves

Yeah, a third prop positioned in the aft of the vessel would help provide adequate thrust while bringing the rear up and stabilizing the craft.
