    Awesome video Cole. My grandfather farmed for 60 yrs. In his lifetime he owned 3 different farms, each time improving on each farm he bought. In the end he had one of the better farms for crop and cattle both. Plus he rented or share cropped some land. He done well for himself.
    Had to always laugh at him a little. He didn't stand but about 5'7" and he could do as much work as his brother that stood 6'2". Will have to say he was the best man I ever knew.
    BTW the videos never get old no matter what you guys get yourselves into. 🚜🚜🚜

    Brian, I take it Cole doesn't know how well a 2 wheel drive tractor served us well over the years? Back when weight was our friend. My favorite tractor to run still is a JD 4430 but yes, we still have a FWA here as well. A new born calf is still a miracle to me... 65 years and each baby is special.

    • @peteparker7396
      @peteparker7396 8 місяців тому +6

    • @jackbarry9469
      @jackbarry9469 8 місяців тому +2

      Yeah 2 wheel drive was fine when average farm size was smaller and inflation adjust cattle and corn were more valuable. Too slow and inefficient for most use cases today.

    • @peteparker7396
      @peteparker7396 8 місяців тому +4

      @@jackbarry9469 I don’t know what you’re talking about,,,, we farmed 10,000 acres with 2 4440’s and a 4840 for years. Before that same acres we had just two 4430’s

    • @billwhitman1529
      @billwhitman1529 8 місяців тому +4

      @@jackbarry9469 I agree that on larger farms the place for a 2 wheel drive is limited. I always wonder though if we aren't spending money for a higher priced FWA (to own and operate) as opposed to an older 2 wheel drive that can run a tedder, rake, etc. where field conditions and job allow. Brian will get his money's worth from the 40%0 and 4020 with a much less cost.

    It was interesting and enjoyable.
    Nice work with your digger Cole. You did a good job of getting the water to drain off that spot in the field. Also like you said the cows will not drink it now and will go to the water tank for better water. Nice job Cole.
    A few more calves born that you put on the video. Appreciate that. Wonderful way you take of the calf and mother once the birth is done. You and dad are wonderful herdsmen.
    You mentioned two wheel drive tractors. Back in my day that is all we had. Glad now days you have the front wheel drive tractors to better serve you. Lots of history there. Interesting how machinery changes thru the years.
    Appreciate the way you keep your barns clean for your herd. You do a great job at it. Nice work to both of you.

    Hi Cole and Brian, calving season is off and running. Your system works so well bringing the cowes into the shed to give them a warm and dry area to calf. I bet you hope the rain takes a break so the ground will dry up and the feed lots will be a dryer area for the young stock in there. A good job on your little digger Cole, to drain off the laying water. You have learnt overvthe years to drive any type of machinery which helps out with so many different jobs to do on the farms. I see your dad records the calves names and I wonder where you will get all the names from? Good content as usual. Chris from Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺.

    I never get sick of seeing the barn cleaning!
    I would absolutely love for you to consider "Maddox" as a bull name. It's the name of my last grandchild (I think lol) who just turned 1 last week. ❤️

    All the barn cleanings is just a must, I don't have any issues with watching that. Like to see all the newborn calves y'all are getting. I wish I had one of those track hoes, I could use it for sure. Thanks for the video, have a good week.
