Great jigs thank you for sharing! Some brilliant adaptations. However, I wanted to watch the video based on the picture shown for the video before clicking , but unfortunately that jig was NEVER SHOWN!!!!.
The saw may not have come with a splitter if it is an older model like mine made in the 50's. And that kickback was like a 1.0 earthquake in Ca. nobody even notices it. 😃 But I have had the 8.0 type and it is no Fun at all !!!
Several commenters misunderstand your project #2. It's NOT a feather board. It's a "thin strip" jig. You've demonstrated using it to cut one strip. You should have shown the next step, which is to move the fence over so the stock is against the jig again, and cut a second strip (with no need for another measurement). Note that this jig puts the thin strip on the side away from the fence, so it doesn't get trapped and kick back. I do suggest your push stick should be further from the fence, so that near the end of the cut the workpiece doesn't twist away from the fence and bind against the blade.
I really like the picture frame clamp. I think Black was pissed off at Decker the day they made that drill. See how much that chuck moves back and forth. No thrust bearings??
This product as a guide for cutting with a saw is only good for already plastered boards, otherwise it would not be usable. It would have to be adjusted to a spring that pushes the bearings when cutting and they move along the edge of the board.
Fit the picture frame jig, what would happen if instead of having holes you had a slot and the 90 corners were on pivots that slid in the slot, would you then be able to clamp in both directs? Just a thought
LIke #2 - the 'featherboard.' One relatively easy/cheap upgrade would be to use one-way (ratcheting) bearings - I'm assuming that since you don't use a riving knife or splitter that you're familiar with kickback, aka the most common table saw injury. A vertical one on the fence to hole the workpiece down would be good, too , as the blade tends to lift work pieces, especially taller ones.
@@jasonandersen5975 The description says it is a feather board (even if it is spelled wrong) but your right it looks more like a thin rip jig to me as well. "01:53 faetherboard table saw scheppach sh105"
I always lose interest rapidly when the person in the video starts off showing the steps to make something and does NOT start off by showing the final result in use. Why the hell would I watch a video making something I have no clue about what it is and why I need it. Bad instructional design. No Like from me.
@10:35 a belt sander/random orbital sander would probably do a quicker, more even job, and depending on how much your time is worth, cheaper to buy a $60 tool than spend an hour making this flapper.
Some of these are really cool, but I love how you made the final project the one where you show how to make the homemade disc sander you've been using for all the other projects. Pretty awesome plot twist!
Here is another brilliant idea; list what you are going to build at the beginning of the video. I only watched the very beginning of your video because I don’t have the time to watch a video when i don’t know what it’s about. Do better.
Why do you all, "masters" who want to teach, gluing dowels - a sample of illiteracy?! All the glue stays on the outside, and you still wipe it off... Have not you been taught that you have to lubricate the hole from the inside and the dowels should have notches for the glue to escape? Teacher...
unfortunately the bearing style feather board will only work if your wood is already straight, unlike a real feather board, i feel like that fact makes it more dangerous than helpful, good job on everything though.
Total bull shit. 1 is a centering jig that costs $5. 2 is a feather board except it's not because it allows kickback unlike a real feather board. They're much better ways of making one or better yet buy a cheap plastic one.

Very good fantastic Brasil

4:00 Why no splitter on the table saw? You got kickback despite using your featherboard replacement - and you are standing directly behind the cut.
The saw may not have come with a splitter if it is an older model like mine made in the 50's. And that kickback was like a 1.0 earthquake in Ca. nobody even notices it. 😃 But I have had the 8.0 type and it is no Fun at all !!!
@@richardrodgers1883 It's a Scheppach HS 105! Relativly knew, and as it's a german brand it must come with an riving knife!!!

The thumbnail isn’t even one of the projects. Click-bait.
yes it is, it is the corner brackets for the picture frame jig.

If the 1st guide incorperated a strong spring to allow for minor lateral variance, it would possibly be safer

your drill press seems to be out of line fix it or will get a shock when the bearings break .
Is available to buy in the market...
Brilliant with the background music it sounded like T petty -last dance with Mary jane😂👍

It’s a thin rip jig, not a feather board.

At 0:43 those digits are waaaaay too close to the blade.

The bearing guide needs to be behind the blade not along side and definitely not in front of the blade.
Where can I find the measurements for all these new jigs ? Would love to make some.

Where’s the one in the picture? The one holding a saw blade?
Cool, inventive. But why should that be necessary? It's a bit like re-inventing the soup bowl.
Dimensions would be handy.
