Very heartwarming video, showing humor, bridging generations, cultures &styles,(Serkin/Ozawa, what contrast yet what harmony),and showing why he has been always so valued as a partner by the greatest soiloists & singers.
Fantastic video - and sooo many wonderful memories of this truly gifted man. Many thanks for posting this! I first saw Mr Ozawa when he was guest conductor with the Toronto symphony Orchestra - in Massey Hall, I think it was circa 1962 - Tchiakovsky's 5th symphony - and the way he transformed our orchestra was remarkable - it made you thing you were seeing & listening to the Viena Philharmonic. Truly amazing. I was so happy when he became our 'permanent' conductor a couple of years later
T was a student at Tanglewood the same year that Seiji and was friends with him.. I remember Charles munch walking around the grounds with Seiji. I also remember Seiji joining some of his fellow students and going to "Seven Hills" a hangout after hours.. Years later when I was a member of The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra Seiji came to conduct and we reunited with a few memories of those decades earlier.. How nice it was..
a magnificent musician and conductor, comprising Mozart and Beethoven to perfection. A teacher worthy of admiration. Professor ENRIQUE MILLAN GOMEZ - COLOMBIA
A inesquecível é a Dança do Sabre, Khachaturian...
@TheVideoCollections it's beethoven n 2: it' was the first concerto written by beethoven but is universally renowed as beethoven number 2 (as it was published for second)

RIP 🙏🙏🙏

thanks for this rare video
Thank you so much for posting such an amazing video.
Fantastic !
Refreshing to hear from a man of such skill that he ascribes much of his career to "luck" when clearly it was an innate and practiced talent.
Fantasticamente incredibile.
