Seemed Alex Shearer wanted to repeat the success of his comedy The Two of Us, given Janet Dibley is appearing here (and singing the theme). Unfortunately John Diedrich was no Nicholas Lyndhurst. (Diedrich's main role had been on Special Squad, an Aussie drama series shown as regional filler in ITV regions - hardly a sitcom like Only Fools was).
