I love this trailer, because it feels far less like a traditional advertisement and more like a surreal painting/film. The music and ambience are mysterious and dreadful. The lack of any dialog gives a feeling of isolation and suspense and makes you concentrate on the world itself. When it was first released, each time I watched it I noticed one new detail after another. The trailer in general feels like (a piece of) a puzzle that draws the viewer deeper into a rabbit hole.
No matter if the game is good or bad, no matter if I ever get to play this myself (don't have ps4), this trailer will forever have a place in my heart as a piece of art.

Kojima truly has a mind of a genius. The Metal Gear story about nuclear weapons and America vs Soviet Union, the cold war. If I was a billionaire, I would 100% support his ideas in story telling and would give him all the money and resources he needs. He can take any idea and make it into a true vision. Something unique. We need more developers like Kojima.

That's more true than you know. There's more to the story than what you have when the game ends. Remember when Amelie says:
"But, to connect the dots, to make sense of everything, you need perspective. You need time."? That's not Amelie talking to Sam.
That's Kojima talking to the player. There are so many clues hidden in the cutscenes to a mystery the player is not even presented with.

While the game itself is a lot of fun and one of my favorites, it would have been just as fun if Death Stranding had just remained a bunch of highly conceptual, loosely connected trailers for a nonexistent game.
Also, remember reading Kojima tweets that suggested dying was going to be a more involved game mechanic - I.e., dying (and perhaps destroying the world [this was before the concept of voidouts was announced]) at the right times and places being how you progress - but the delivery man sim with light stealth and gun combat that predicted Covid-era isolation and loneliness was just as novel. The perfect game to herald in the 2020s.

Been doing some research about Death Stranding.
Death Stranding Definition: Also known as a Cetacean Stranding is when a whale is discovered dead due to becoming beached.
Limbo: The waiting room of the dead, often depicted as an infinite beach. In Christian mythology, it is where unbaptised babies and those who have lived a good life, but never converted to Christianity go after they die.
Dying: In interviews, it has been said the dying in death stranding will instead of being a game over, will actually play a part in the game.
Revelations King James 20:13: And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Daryl's Dog Tags: It has been discovered that on Norman Reedus' dog tags, as seen in the trailer shows equations related to quantum physics and blackholes.

This is synced with the first trailer!
When the baby disappears from hands of the naked guy, it appears in the machine of this guy.
When the naked guy cries, this guy's feet start getting flooded.
They're also both wearing one side of a cuff, indicating a link I believe.
When their backs are turned, they both look further down into the distance. In this trailer, further down, there are those FIVE evil weird soldier things. In the first trailer, further down, there are FIVE weird floating things.
I think the naked guy in the first trailer is linked to the baby doll here as they both have that same scar.
Furthermore, that baby doll bumping into that guy at the end could tell us that the naked guy did indeed advance towards that sea.
So we're seeing teleportations between different dimensions/ life and death/ I have no clue. I love this game already.

“The characters are very dualistic in (Kojima’s) games: There is no such thing as a bad guy or a good guy in his games,” Mikkelsen said. “It is all a challenge; you have to go through these characters to achieve certain things. And it’s also a learning curve, and they will be an obstacle for you sometimes, and sometimes they will be a help for you.”
Mikkelsen went on to suggest that the roles of Death Stranding’s characters may shift as the plot unfolds. “(Kojima’s) games are not as black and white as Hollywood is sometimes,” he said. “So there are more nuances of gray in his world. You’ll have to encounter these characters in different ways throughout the game.”

    Hello Mr. Kojima,
To start you are one of my absolute idols. Your story of getting into the video game industry and vision and passion for making triple A games has inspired me since the, "Metal Gear Solid" days. I remember being a child and playing the game for the first time on my step-brothers Sony PS1 and actually having a connection to the game as if I were an actor starring in a movie. I loved that feeling and ever since then I have followed you and your creations as well as your career. Right now I am 24 years old serving the U.S. Military but still aspiring to become a video game designer. I love the idea of bringing a story together from scratch and I've been really good a story telling for some time now enough to make a current project I've been working on since my high school days called, "Utopia". The game is about 9 children being abducted by an unknown entity and put in an environment made by the entity for experimentation on survival. My biggest influences for this game are the psychological horrors from the silent hill series, Metal gear solid for it's child soldier theory, The classic film, "Lord of the Flies", And various Sci-fi films. My question to you Mr. Kojima is what wisdom and advice, from an experienced person in this field such as yourself, can you give me for my project and my future ambitions to becoming a great video game designer in today's video game industry? I look forward to your response if possible and I cannot wait for your next masterpiece, "Death Stranding" to be released.
