I am not a snake fan but I appreciate seeing people who are passionate about things......seeing how many snakes are out & about in these videos makes me realize how many I probably pass by on any given time out in the woods that I never notice.
It’s been a while since I’ve gone Herping. I’ve kinda been stopping Herping because of all the work I have and then I saw this video. I use to watch you all the time like 1 year ago and now im back! Can’t wait to go Herping again!
So much radness. I appreciate the content. That was a nice greenish rat. And I loved the timber in the tree trunk that was so pale. Name him Talcom since he was kinda powder white. Super dope video. I'll catch you in the next one. Richard from Arkansas
Nice vipers and turtles. This habitat is quite different. Nothing has prepared for the winter really, other than the large snakes. Even chorus frogs made the jump from fall to spring.
long ago i knew people who had land near tallahassee. they told me one spring they were clearing some land and they pulled out a stump. when they pulled it out over 100 rattlesnakes came out. they showed me pictures of 6ft snakes that would sun themselves on their front porch.
From 4 years old I was flipping wood, tires, car doors, corrugated tin, etc, for my Grandfather hunting Rattle Snakes in Jackson Entry, Alabama for the yearly Rattle Snake Rodeo. Drove my Naval Officer Father CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen some Big Ones!!!! There is a good reason what The Rattle Snake Rodeo is in the late Fall. Slows them down and a bit more manageable....
as a resident of South Ga we’ve had 13 c’head and 3 t’rattler encounters in our yard in 15 years. Each rattler easily exceeded 4ft. One night alone we had 4 c’heads in the yard. One evening sis-in-law was bitten by copper and hospitalized 3 days. Within a few mos stepped on another amazingly w/out getting bitten.
The gray rat snake mimicking a stick so hard, its every muscle is tensed for the end of its life... It even thinks its eyeballs are camo. But like you say, it is really out of place in this terrain. Surrounded by green pasture it would make a shadow of a stick and be very hard to see.
Probably a long shot, but would you consider shipping a rainbow snake? I’ve been wanting to study and do research on them. I’d consider coming down to collab a search.
Can I ask you a serious question? I live on a acre of land in FL very close to a lake. A couple of turtles ( we call gophers) have dug hugh holes in the yard and I see the gophers from time to time. Do the holes attract snakes?
The snakes aren’t necessarily attracted to them, but the entire ecosystem (scrub/sandhill where your house is located if it has Gopher Tortoises) revolves around those burrows. Not just snakes, but literally hundreds of species of wildlife from birds to alligators have been documented using their holes for shelter from heat/cold.
Hey man. I was wondering if you could help me find areas around me in northwest Georgia for some timbers. I wanna catch one to keep as a pet. I got the go ahead from DNR last week
When you are making these videos can you tell us what county or city you are in/nearby. I am a land surveyor and walk in the deep woods all over Ga. Would like to know where these bohemoth creatures are living.
You are mighty brave walking around the woods in south Georgia in Mid November, the PEAK of deer season down there. Lots of dumb trigger happy hunters. Be safe. Wear orange vest! We dig your videos! I'm more worried about dumb humans than any snake.
For sure man, I’m a hunter too so I’m usually pretty savvy about when/where to go this time of year to avoid stepping on toes or getting shot. Most of this video was filmed in areas off limits to hunting.
You can catch them rattle snakes and sell them to colleges my buddy would sell them to UAB college to make anti venom they dont kill them and you make money and help save lifes
Not a good idea this time of year, a recent meal and a cold spell could kill snakes and most species will just refuse food during the winter. If I could track him down in the summer I wouldn’t be opposed to giving him some food.
My good friend Mike Pingleton has great praise for you! I see myself in your forty years ago! Good to see the torch goes on! M
Noah appreciate the grind man - I learn more from you than anywhere else about reptiles- so thank you
Thanks for still pumping out content in the middle of winter bro, even in Georgia I know that's gotta be tough!
It’s tough sometimes but the good days are always some of my favorites all year!
At 16:37 I guess you could say that cottonmouth was just doing his fang 😂😂

Thoroughly enjoyable video.

Suggested name for your palefaced Timber buddy: Finn. Old Gaelic name meaning fair or blond. Handsome snake!
Nice video, thanks for sharing!
I know the news…lol watched bobs video yesterday. I thought for a moment that rat snake with the meal looked familiar 😂😂
Up in ashtabula ohio , we got 57 inches of snow , yay!
Mentor Ohio.. I feel your pain

I wish i had spots like these to check
Nice!
either Oak since its a lighter shade of wood just like his stripes, or Amber because of the lighter colored stripe.
I’m in South GA, I’d love to tag along some time just watch you do your thing.
Where do you live in South Georgia, I lived in Thomasville for several years, 80’s
@ I’m outside Savannah.

The snake should be named ol faithful….because he is ❤
I have a question….. why are there so many pieces of random metal sheeting in the middle of the woods?
Herpers put them out for hides, I've put hides of many kinds in my yard/woods
is it not cold?

What’s a slender or a mimic?
I think it was a lizard.
I like the name Jack.
I love the watersnakes. but why are they always so bitey?
"I think it's about time this guy gets a name". "Even his face is pale". I think that the timber rattler at the 10:20 mark should be called "Moby".
Cain gets my vote.

He doesn't say because people will go there to hurt snakes. The snakes are everywhere but they try their best to avoid humans.
Brave 😂
Pale Tim

That's Ghostface Killa right there
Pale Pasqual. A name for your pale timber.
Albany ga ray Charles residents in here 😮😮
Why are we still saying garter snakes are harmless??
Obviously you name the rattlesnake Tim
My friend if you cut your carbs you can at least break through a couple more hours before you need to feast
Where’s your shotgun?
At home where it belongs, like most secure men that respect wildlife…
@@NKFherping😆
