Not quite...If u got paid 4 ur personal data & attention 2 ads, & were asked 2 pay 4 all social media as in a subscription model, u would have enough to spend and spare because ur personal identity (both data & attention) is much much more valuable. Btw how does collecting ur personal info & compromising ur privacy make them more efficient? U mean Spotify and Netflix are less efficient coz they don't collect ur personal info at least 2 the degree with which FB, IG & Google do???
This is extremely small thinking. Imagine if a person’s data could be secured on an infinitely scalable, feeless & fully interoperable distributed ledger technology. Dana should look into Constellation’s Hypergraph. JennyCo is a project building on them that allows people to own, control & monetize their health data, which is valued around $1,500 annually. People should truly get paid for the value of their data.
