Even crazier if you go 20 years in the other direction: 2045 When I was a kid, my science books were all talking about flying cars for everyone in 2050. Let's see if that becomes reality.
Love it. You're so right. We don't celebrate thanksgiving in France, but, that's great you use your visibility to recaall this basic principle : tech is a tool for humans, humans are not tools for tech.
Thanks for making me laugh and cry whitin a few minutes, which is not an easy task, and for reminding me of the good old days and, most of all, for the heart and soul you put into your videos. Happy Thanksgiving!
As with all things, nuance is important. Of course avoiding family during the holidays because of petty squabbles (politics is clearly implied here) is ridiculous. I'm not sure that that is the intent behind most of that kind of messaging, though. Everyone's experience and family dynamic is different and there is no shortage of people who have been abused in multiple ways by narcissists in their family who keep the abused in a vulnerable position by manipulative appeals to familial allegiance. These people are putting themselves in harm's way by needlessly subjecting themselves to their abusers, and if encouragement from a stranger to listen to their impulse to avoid that situation is what it takes for them to give themselves permission to avoid that situation, then that encouragement is a charitable act.
Yeah exactly, not everyone is lucky enough to have a family where the biggest issue you have is a disagreement about policy. You need to be selfish and protect yourself first and foremost.
Recently bought a Fuji XT-5 during my vacation in Japan, inspired by your videos. Using a camera instead of my phone was such a refreshing experience. I found myself looking for every little moment to capture, and now, looking back at the photos, they bring those feelings and sensations back so vividly. This video and your gear reviews might not be directly related, but they’re connected in a way-through your ideas and inspiration. Thanks for your amazing content! Cheers from Brazil!
I wish you and your loved ones a wonderful Thanksgiving and lots of years to come. Forever is definitely definitive. I know all too well. I miss my sweetheart every day again and again. Thank you for being such a nice guy and your wonderful thoughts.
In Australia there are actually restaurants now where when you walk in you can give them your phone and you get a 5% discount off the food and it's an incentive to actually get you off your phone and it works really well when I go to weddings now if I'm the photographer I ask everyone to put their phone down and that is also effective
A Very Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! As always, thanks so much for giving us something to think about...and be entertained by at the same time!
Chris, your videos are a unique blend of the playful and the profound. It's really impressive! Straight from the heart of Italy! Ciao from the Bel Paese!🎉. Eugenio G.
Happy Thanks giving Chris. All the best to you and your family! Once again a great reminder to try and keep technology from creating stress in your life. Family and friends are what’s important. Like you mentioned spend time with them while you can.
Warm greetings on this Thanksgiving holiday to you and your esteemed family. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your time and the insightful video you shared.
As always, a great "presentation"! :) This proves again, if needed, that it's not the technique nor the equipment that's important but the creativity, the idea, the imagination. Bravo P2T, and happy Thanksgiving to you from France!
After I stopped grinning insanely at the 2005 video, you made a very deep point there. Thanks for the jogging the grey cells. Have a great Thanksgiving. It’s a day as normal here in he UK
Man this is really deep. I love this Channel! Great Speech Chris! We dont have Thanksgiving in Germany but this counts for all of us and everytime! I can remember when my dad bought his first Laptop that had WiFi onboard, it was like from another planet and look what we have today! Never forget what we humans are made of and what makes us unique - its NOT digital! Spend some time with LIFE! Your device can always wait.....except a good Fuji ;-)
2005, I was an undergraduate college student finishing my thesis about interfacing AGVs thru the wireless network. Your old vid hit me hard, as WiFi really was at its infancy back then, and I have to struggle connecting my desktop's WiFi card to my prototype microcontroller-based wireless network interface for an AGV that I just DIYed. 😅
Love ya pal2tech! Great video. Not too long ago I turned 70. I've looked in the mirror and asked myself, "what the hell happened!?". Great advice. Slow down and enjoy your family and friends. LIfe is way too short.
What a very likable, fun video. I'm often asked by my wife, "Where's your phone?". My answer is always the same, "..at home ..". Yes, phones are very convenient and sometimes necessary. But I see people walking in my neighborhood wheeling their children in baby carriages in the middle of the road (we have few sidewalks in our area) talking or texting on their phones, oblivious to the traffic and their children. I think my kids would require my uncompromised attention.
Happy Thanksgiving Chris. You are so right. Another thought... my family don't drive me crazy so I guess I must be the one driving them crazy 😂 so I'm thankful for my lovely family and their tolerance of me all these years too! Things don't matter, people do, and family most of all. I shall be clinking a glass to you and yours 🍻
I work in addictions and I do some exercise exercises around getting people to get off their phones. I should share them with the channel but they're kind of funny and we often have a bowl. Yes what we do is when we go out for dinner or we go somewhere, we put all the phones on top of each other in the middle of the table and no one can touch their phone. No one has it in their pocket and we are good to go.
Never in the History of mankind, have we been so gaslighted, disinformed, bombarded and poisoned as we are today. All we have to do is switch off, Happy Thanksgiving from the U.K.
Omg Chris… where do you come from. According to me ur a brighteing soul. Thanks for all ur kindness knowledge ur share with us. Happy thanksgiving from France uncle

You are the man.. I love how you can explain things logically, even outside of the camera field.
As always, a great "presentation"! :)

In that suit there was a hint of Mr. Camera Conspiracies..
Thanks! Stay safe and cool!
2:23 That’s actually Michael Scott.

Still love my ancient Thinkpads....
2005 I was fussing with a Palm Treo in the middle of nowhere Wyoming. It connected about 30% of the time.
Great message. Happy Thanksgiving, Chris.
Have a great one Chris. See you on the other side of the WiFi signal!
😉
Dude, I did the same thing in 1993 with a Lotus Freelance presentation regarding the benefits of ISDN vs dial-up modems.
The car scene reminds me a bit of Tom Cruise in Jerry McGuier 😊
Love the parrot.
