So I just got into wood carving and I have just recently come to really appreciate the skill and craftsmanship that is required for woodworks of this sort. Well done, sir.
I get the basswood at Rockler.com. It's really nice because they ship it planed and it's good quality wood free of knots or blemishes. It's nice for people that don't have the equipment to prep their wood for a project.
Beautiful piece! so rockler.com for the bass planks. I've had problems in the past with the dremmel shaft so im thinking of getting a Foredom set up. Do have any other carving tools that you use and like?
Thanks! Yeah besides my gouges and dremel, id say my set of mini files were good tools to add to my collection. They really help out when you're working on cleaning up tight spots in a carving. Another thing that's been a game changer for me was my DIY honing station I made. I can hone my gouges so much faster now.
Sorry for the late response, I didn't notice your comment... oops! I currently carve them for fun and I usually just give them away. I would like to get into the selling at some point in the near future though, and I would accept requests if I was given one. At this point I just don't advertise for that kind of stuff though. That's my plan for the future hopefully, I'm just taking the journey one step at a time.
Chiseled Outdoors Custom Carvings So let’s say you do another carving... what would it take to get my name on the waiting list for giveaway or purchase?

Where do you buy your panels?
I see some on ebay but something that size I'd have to glue up
I get them from a local sawmill

Wow !!
Thanks!
I am also curious; do you sell these particular pieces? Were they made per request and then purchased? Or perhaps do you sell them online or locally?
