Nowadays they can tell you just how many people touch a doorknob in a hour or less and identify each person.
This one strikes home with me because I knew one of the deceased quite well in the years before this happened... I used to shoot darts with the guy at the local bars, and he was damn good! I'm glad they finally caught the perps around 9 years later... RIP Tom Mennes, prayers to the rest of the victims...
So glad this case was finally solved. Grateful for the advanced technology that is able to identify these criminals and remove them from harming society any further.
I was 17 lived in the Apartments behind Brown's and worked at McDonald's across the street..
My family owned and operated a restaurant from 1990 to 2001 So this incident could happened to anyone who happens to operate a restaurant business
Kevin Degorski should be in jail. He was hiding his brother out for 10 years Jim Degorski 3:32
Yeah, I wonder how many other people knew. If they told a couple girls, I really doubt that it stopped there. And, you know, people talk, so there was probably a whole network of people who knew second- and third-hand.
@@thirdcoast5755 Degorski‘s whole family Knew
Monsters!
I remember this vividly, and now my cousin owns all of the Brown’s chickens in Illinois
Horrible. Palatine Police initially tried pinning this case on employees or former employees except they had alibies.
The police were real good at pinning cases on innocent victims in the 90s and earlier due to lack of technology and knowledge of law from the average person
😢 Same thing happened in 1994 in Gadsden, AL in Popeyes but it was 3 who died there not 7
I was only 7 months old when this happened.
Hopefully they can do that for the people in Lane Bryant
I remember that case. You would think that it had to be someone that she knew.
I can't believe the state gave one of the killers half a million dollars.
You actually should read the Jamea Degorski article claiming innocence.. the DNA evidence only lined to the other guy.. and Degorski had an ex who was offered a 240k reward for any conviction 9 years after the fact and was in a psychiatric ward and stuff. He has a 7 chapter article with supposed facts so I'm not sure the 2nd guy has been proven guilty. I just read the full thing and these detectives can be forced into getting convictions.. there's a lot of detail take a gander
@@jeremylachajczyk321Your good buddy, Degorski, is guilty as sin. I read his tripe, too.😅
Browns chicken never recovered from that
We are not out from the woods, it seems
😢
I remember this from when I was still a teenager
I get that DNA evidence wasn’t that common but I still wonder why no security cameras were mentioned. I don’t think there were digital cameras then, but it was still a fairly well established technology.
Someone came forward. Cops solved nothing.
Exactly. Palatine Police initially tried pinning this case on employees or former employees except they had alibies.
Oh, is this reason why browns in not popular??
Yes. Brown's Chicken was fabulous with great corn fritters and honey to dip.
Progress made, yep this happens every day now
Don't worry, it wasn't intentional so they can scare the peasantry into giving up their 2nd amendment rights. Don't worry about why they keep letting killers out on bail either.
They got Luna from the chicken, how'd they get the other guy?
He confessed to his girlfriend and then she went to the police
Jim Degorski he was hiding out at his brother‘s house in Indianapolis. His brother kevin also knew about the murders
My grandpa almost went there the day of the massacre but he took a day off and my grandma was the babysitter of the killer
JK
Sorry I meant to say that my grandpa loved chicken from browns and my grandma bought chicken from browns when she babysat us
@@Blade434 Does your gramps know that you're trash?
You could just edit the comment. So glad your grandpa didn’t go.
