How to crochet a RECTANGLE with T-shirt yarn FOR BEGINNERS || Tutorial || Easy to follow

- Опубліковано 13 бер 2021
- Hi everyone!
In this tutorial learn how to crochet one more shape of a base for your baskets, bags or anything else - a RECTANGLE.
This video will be very helpful for beginners because I tried to make it very detailed, show every step slowly and accompany everything by verbal explanations.
You can choose any width of T-shirt yarn and any size of a hook that will be convenient for you. You will also need 4 stitch markers, a needle with a big eye and scissors.
In this video I use 7-9 mm T-shirt yarn and a 7 mm hook.
If you will have any questions, write them in comments under the video.
I wish you a cozy time! ♥

Ausome tutorial and an awesome teacher, and I agree with all the comments before me. You are the only one who really wants to make videos to teach not to get likes and subscribers. Thank you a lot
I have been doing this base follow other UA-camr but they aren’t guiding well and I gave up trying until I found ur video! Thanks and looking for more.
I'm glad that my video was useful for you :)
Hello Julia!
Can you tell me where I can buy this T- shirt yarn that you use?
Thank you!
Thank you very much for your very well explained way of how to crochet a rectangle. It’s perfect and well detailed ❤
Long time crocheter here. Just had to say thank you for this great tutorial on how to make a rectangle - which is exactly what I'd been looking for to make a bathroom rug. I have previously made several baskets after watching your tutorials for square baskets - and they also came out perfectly. You are one of the best crochet teachers I've ever come across and I highly recommend watching you - for any level of crocheter. It's never too late to learn new and - better - techniques!! Cheers!
Thank you very much!❤🙏🏼
great tutorial. Thank you so much. I never would have figured out that starting sc.
U r the best teacher on you tube👏🏻👏🏻love from India 🥰🥰

You explain things so well and show each important step clearly… instead of assuming we know where to put the hook or how the stitch should look. Been crocheting a while but I’ve learned a lot watching you!
❤

Ily❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for this video! I am going to do a handbag and this base looks perfect!
This is one of the best tutorials for the rectangular base I have followed. You made it very clear especially the invisible join. The only thing I couldn't work out was when you closed the hole with the end of the yarn. As I followed you, you carried the end yarn with the first row so when I came to close the hole the yarn wasn't in the correct place to do it. So I had to re do it without carrying the yarn. I hope this makes sense to you. Thanks again I will definitely be recommending your chanel.
Thank you for your comment ❤
As you can see I've almost made the same mistake of leaving too short end of the yarn and therefore it was not very easy to close the hole with it. That's why I wrote at the beginning of the video at 1:35 a tip for all of you to leave a longer end of yarn than mine, so that you don't have the same problem as me.
I did the same thing just now, was about to close and realized the yarn wasnt there! 🥲 time to redo
Thanks a lot. You are too kind to give clear instructions.
Excellent instruction! Thankyou so much!
Thank you for your tutorial, it's very clear. Looking forward to more tutorials from you x

She is great
Best tutorial of a rectangle. Thank you so much! Also am I able to use this pattern on any stitch? This stitch for me was creating holes on the ends and I did it too tight it was hard to get 3 stitches in 😩
Wonderful, wonderful tutorial, thank you, could you please do a video on how to work the sides after you finish the base? Thank you so much 💝😊
Thank you 😊
You can use the square basket video tutorial
@@CrochetwithJulia brilliant, thank you so much 💖

Hi Julia! Thank you for sharing your knowlegde and your expertise! I am crocheting a rectangle starting with the oval, but mine is lopsided. I, too, am joining, but don't like seam it makes. Your technique seems to make that seam disappear! Can you please explain why you crochet your sc into middle of the stitch? Is that part of the technique to hide the seam? Does this technique work when changing colors? My project has 1 line stripes throughout. Thank you for your assistance...hope to hear from you soon!
Thank you very much for your great tutorial, but can you please help me with the rows for this rectangular base
Hi Julia
Your tutorials are SO GOOD!! Thank you!!
How you start a new colour on the rectangular circle please?

Hi thank you for the tutorial!! ^^ But may i ask you? In the last chain of first foundation chain you make 5 sc, is it just for tshirt yarn or any yarn? Because i've seen another tutorial they just make 3 sc. Thank you in advance ^^
It's just two different ways of crocheting a rectangle :) You can try both and see which one you like more
can tou recommended which of your videos to watch in order to turn this base into a basket? im a complete beginner
How would I adjust this to make a base 11" w 11" d?
Can we use another yarn instead of t shirt? Excellent tutorial. Great for beginners.
Yes, of course you can😊
Thank you!
I was wondering that to I like using cotton yarn
@@CrochetwithJuliathanks julia
My hands would hurt using that thick stuff
Wow that’s amazing
Please lemme know can I follow this same for bulky yarn to achieve recatangular base
You can use any yarn 🙂
Thank you for this tutorial! My rectangle won't lie flat for some reason, is there a way to fix this?
Did you see how my rectangle looks like in the end before the wet heat treatment? Does your rectangle look even worse? If it's the same as mine then you just need to do the wet-heat treatment 😊
Hello dear thank you so much yr the best can u ecplain to me what is the wet heet treatment cz i have the same problm
Please make a vedio tutorial of big basket croche with lid
Hello Julia, I've just started watching your video to make a crochet rectangle. At the beginning you say if more chain stitches, then the rectangle will be longer but narrower and vice versa if less stitches. I am trying to make a laundry basket 50cm long by 30cm wide. Can I use your pattern amended? Can you help?
The walls of tha basket will be the same as the circle one ???
Yes
Hi, I am looking for a video tutorial for a rectangle basket like yours but want it to be 32cm by 25cm, can you help? I'm a beginner and don't know how to make it bigger than yours. Thank you so much 😊 Carine
Hi... I just started a project using this pattern and I have a question. How do attach/connect if I want switching of colors?
Hello how much t-shirt yarn did you use on this projects
can i use this to secure the bottom of bags? i wanted to make a crochet cross bag but i cant find a thing that could support the bottom😔
Very interessing but can we do it with macrame
You can use any material :)
Très lent dégoûtant
Julia can u make in half oval increasing only one side
How do you make a rectangle basket please. Can do the base but not sure how to do the sides.
You can use this video: ua-cam.com/video/erBMJ3D_1Es/v-deo.html
How do I keep from getting big holes at the end of my rows? I think I am messing up the first sc or the last 5. I end up with a big circle in the middle.
Send me a picture of your rectangle on Instagram or by mail so I could see the problem
n chain.
n-1 sc, on the nth chain, put 5sc (mark 2 and 4)
move onto the other side:
n-1 sc, on the nth chain, put *4* sc (the 5th one you already put in!!!!)
15:02 how to join
After that first round, you do the same but addingg 3sc at the ends not 5. You mark the 2nd stitch.
48:56 how to join when you finish the last row (aka how to end/close
Can you make a backpack 🎒?
Rectangle basket with t shirt yarn
How many inches was this?
9.45
What brand is your hook and yarn Julia? They seem easier to work with 😁
I don't remember the hook brand but about the yarn I use you can read on my channel in the Community section or in the description to my latest videos
The hook looks like a Tulip Etimo.
What does this make a basket ?
I don't understand how I see the bumps in your chain, but not inine. 🤔
How can you add sides would you do it the same as the square one
Yes🙂
@@CrochetwithJulia thank you
@@CrochetwithJulia can post a video on how to start sides it seems you connect rows different then the square size I would appreciate it Julia
