I thought that might be the Pyrex Starburst when I saw the title. My late Mom lived with me the last 4 years of her life and had Alzheimer's disease. I used to buy bags of jewelry and buttons from the thrift store. We had hours of fun digging through the treasures and sorting them. ❤🇨🇦
Aww, that is such a tremendous memory! Alzheimer's is a devastating disease -- my greatgrandfather had it (we just called it being "senile" back when I was a kid), then my grandmother, now my aunt -- I am so glad that you were at least able to enjoy your time with your mother digging through those bags of treasures from the thrift store!! I am sure those hours meant a lot to her too!
For not knowing anything about pyrex about a year ago you have spent some time educating yourself about it. I used to be an appraiser for the Salvation Army and am self taught also. The things that interest me the most are the things I know nothing about. It is just as exciting to find something unusual or a bit different and learning something of its history and value as it is to find something you are certain of the value.
Wow, great finds! FYI: Some older "costume" jewelry earrings actually have solid GOLD studs and backings. Most are hallmarked really fine on the stud itself and require a magnifying 🔎 glass to be seen.
Love your videos 💯 Allways learning something! Spend a full day watching the Potter Marys Home ! Next day a video popped up with the trashed House??!!! I was just as heartbroken as you guys 💯 Feeling that i know all those great people, spending hours after hours of hard work and effort😢 You have so much great material on this Channel! Allways entertaining to Watch you and family opening boxes, finding Strange and cool Strange stuff 😃 Any treasure! So Well deserved! Thanks for sharing Knowledge and find you funny, on dad jokes and stuff😂
Alex, the earrings with a ‘screw on’ would definitely be more expensive jewelry because of the screw on back. That is a typical Asian/ Indian style earrings, being gold from 22-24 carats gold and that’s why the screw on backs
I have a pair of gold and enamel earrings with the screw-on posts, and I've only worn them once. Painful to put on, painful to remove, wrecked my piercings for a week while my lobes healed. I considered having them changed, have never gotten around to it, so they sit at the bottom of the box. 22K.
What a fun video! As a fellow jewelry treasure hunter I always enjoy seeing what people find! Nothing is more exciting than getting a big box or bag of jewelry to go through and find the treasures in it! Loved your drawer of watch crystals, my husband and I need to find something like that ! Wr have kits of different batteries but we need to find some kind of collection of crystals ourselves because we buy ,repair, and sell a lot of watches! Thanks for another fun video and congrats on the great stuff you found including those rare Pyrex! Hope the stuff you’re going back for turns out to be really great stuff!
Waiting for the day when Alex does a jewelry video without at some point saying they have to find the loupe. Where do they keep that loupe? Among Chewie's toys?
Well he isn’t the age when your arms aren’t long enough to be able to see things. So it must be tiny. I think they should have one in his office, 1 in the garage, one in the new sorting area of the pool house, and one in the kitchen. We should all send him one 😂
Got a bulk purchase of vinatage costume. I had some of the same ones you have. I did find some nice items worth more. Some of it I couldnt give away. Especially the little artists ones you found.
Back in the early 90's , I had that exact same "black snow flake" design pyrex casserole dish - with the lid. I'm not sure how I acquired it - but it had been in my cupboard for a long time. Then, when my Border Collie had puppies - I used that dish to feed the puppies once they were weened from mother. It was used through three litters of puppies and then the dish disappeared......it may have been broken.....I just don't remember. Well, easy come - easy go.......
I can't help it I am officialy nuts...I am screaming ad my tablet again...its there...right there...lol. I love old treasures like that, sadly the juweliers of my grandma(88) and so also from her grandma was stolen 😔
The “Starburst” Pyrex 575 Dish with 550 clear glass Lid is a promotional pattern from 1960 that would have also come with a Cradle (a metal holder) that had plastic handles and dual candle warmer that was originally called a Cinderella Serving Casserole. Worth closer to $400-$800 US without the cradle. Nice find but not quite the holy grail of Pyrex sorry. Mod Stars… now THAT’s a super HTF Rare Pyrex. Best wishes!!
Len Lunde born in Campbell River, BC totally awesome. I am not much of a jewellery person but love looking through old coins and the history of folks that you buy from their estates....
The Morgan looks to be in pretty good condition and nice score on the Tiffany earrings and gold watch!! I think you will discover many more items of value in the alleged "junk" jewelry. ( Caveat: Unless that plastic Cameo is Bakelite, it's worth about 50 cents). As far as Pyrex worth more than a grand...give me a break. I believe you but just must shake my head at what the modern buyer sees as valuable. It's cookware!! Give me a break. Right up there with the Glassy Babies...sigh. Thank you for a fun video!
Hello Alex good to see you again love watching your videos . Please pass hello to Melissa and your kids as well 👍🌺🦋🌈💖❤️😘😊🙏🏻from Edith in cairns Queensland Australia 🇦🇺
Yes, the 50s to 70s jewellery goes well here in NZ too and I get around US$12 per item. I sell individually, and 2-to-1 brooches sell to other jewellery.
Most excellent Brother and Sister. Can't wait for more treasures from this Legendary Hockey Man's estate. Thanks always for sharing Your passion and adventures from Toronto Ontario Canada 😎👍♥️🇨🇦♥️💯💯💯💯💯✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
Love watching you go through jewellery. I also like going through it when my dad gets some from people. How can you tell something is actually ivory? I have a couple pieces that I believe are. One is a necklace charm of two different-sized elephants stacked on top of each other. Love that Starburst pyrex!
There are lots of other vintage jewelry brands that are as collectible as Sherman: Boucher (who worked for various companies), old Trifari, Weiss, Krementz, Rafael, Juliana, and many more. Then there are the good brands that will bring you some money but aren't top tier: Coro, newer Trifari, older Monet, etc, etc.
It pays to research any name on a pc.. I've found things that research showed it was very collectable. Speaking of Ukes... I got one at an auction in a $13 box with other things and after research found out Kamala is about the most valuable ukes. I got $175 for it at on line sale.
Thanks for the jewelry video! The earrings are more 70s and 80s than 50s and 60s, but there sure are a bunch of them. 04:07 magnetic bracelets; my name for them is "annoying". The cameo pin definitely isn't. (actually a cameo, that is. It's 60s plastic nothingmuch - ask Melissa) 07:26 Test the bracelet before declaring sterling. I've found more fake ones than real ones of that design. All marked silver.. as if. 11:09 PEONY Alex. Molded early Japanese plastic or even celluloid probably.
No mint mark US coins are minted in Philadelphia. The Morgan dollar 1878-1921 then, the Peace dollar 1921-1928 also 1934-1935 then, ,Eisenhower dollar 1971-1978 then, Susan B. Anthony dollar 1979-1981The first of many subsequent "quarter Size" dollars. Hated by the US public and still undesirable here. 🙂 🏴☠ Lovely content, will be watching in the future. JIM
Hi Alexander, 1st you said you needing a piece of glass for the trophy barometer. Then you showed the draw you had full of watch crystals. You don’t think 1 of those would fit in it’s place? I also thought that Melissa might want the mint green Pyrex casserole dish. I know it’s not the exact same color of her other ones, but it’s close, isn’t it? God bless and take care.👋🤗🙏💗
Here's an idea for ya... of course you'd have to do some homework first and be able to test the way it works... Take the old costume jewelry and raffle it off. It really might not be worth the time but as another comment I just read maybe the old saying of 1 man's junk is another's treasure. Hell if it works well enough in the future you could raffle off an unopened box of jewelry and fly someone or you fly and meet someone and open and video for a video... Just a random thought
The (hockey) cup your holding is 100% from Sweden. Our highest league here "SHL" (swedish hockey league) was called "elitserien" (elite series) before they took the name SHL as it is named now. You can also see three crowns on the cup, which is what our national hockey teams is called "tre kronor" (three crowns).
Len Lunde played and coached in Finland and Sweden. He was the head coach for Västra Frölunda IF in the Swedish top league Elitserien in 1981-82. That is probably when he got that trophy.
I love watching you go through jewelry! And the way Mellissa never wants to keep anything that can sell, what a sweet lady she is and her loving husband that say's no, you keep it you never know where you can wear it.
Love the mid century Pyrex. Ladies are using clip earrings to dress up their shoes 👠 Whoever had this idea is a genius. I laughed when you said the crystal was broken on the watch and luckily you had one. Then slowly slid open a small drawer filled with different size crystals. 😮 😂 Alexander your always prepared. 😊
You really found some interesting things . Clip on earrings are hard to find for those of us who can't wear pierced for one reason or other . Love the Jewelry mix . Sifting through that would be so much fun . Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤

Melissa, wear your waterfall pin on a jean jacket. I love my vintage pins and wear them on sweaters and jean jackets ❤
My mom collects vintage pins and displays them on vintage lace, there pretty to look at in a bedroom or bathroom ❤
I would love to see you go to England that’s when you will find real antiques in things worth money. With a metal detector.❤❤❤❤

Celluloid, not cellulite 😂 that made me chuckle haha
......the fat from the backs of your legs......
Perhaps Alex might sell some of the "cellulite" jewelry by the pound? 😅
That Pyrex Dish is Fabulous!
This is the 2nd time I've watched this video & I can't tell you which time I loved it more!

I’m staring at the earring he’s looking for, so frustrating. LOL

Love the Pyrex! Look at all those watch crystals! If I ever see you coming I think I'll hide my watch!😁
Vintage clip on earrings are quite desirable for dressing up a pair of plain pumps. Totally changes the look.
I looked up the mint green atomic starburst Pyrex and one sold Aug 21, 2023 for $750 US. Great find!
My mom had some of that Pyrex design. Makes sense, my father worked for the company that made it back in the '50s...
Treasure, I love your jewelry sorting videos.

the bakelite jewelry is collectible, so is the Lucite
What is the approximate price of a CANADIAN MAPLE LEAF 1 Ounce 999 or 9999 Coin (New) we pay $27.00 to $33.00 US.
i tried to sell back my silver and gold tiffany bracelet. i didn't get barely anything for it. it was purchased for $2k usd

The only way to guarantee authentic jewelry is to get it from the manufacturer.
The technical name for those copper bracelets is Scam.
Yay! Liked, shared and commented!
let melissa do the jewelry. she's the expert.
hey double check that Rolex it might be white gold i had a wedding ring set that i thought were fake and got 200 for them

The fastest way is going over it with a big magnet. That separate s it .
