Hey there! Thanks for the vid, usually do all repairs on my own car. But recently I inspected my transmission fluid, and Its dark know it could probably use a change.. however, on older vehicles I’ve been sceptical .. not sure if the flashing d could also do with that.. maybe not just the sensors

I have 07 Acura TL Type S. Engine light came on and sometimes the gear indicators on the dash won’t even light up or the D blinks. I scanned and got P1717 TRANS RVS Switch Circuit Range / Performance. P0615 ENG Starter Relay Circuit. P1717 MOD $0E RVS Switch Circuit Range / Performance. Any idea what sensor it actually is that needs replaced w those codes?
I’ve had this issue since I bought the car but I worked around it by holding the gear stick in it’s sweet spot...today however the drive light started blinking and even if I had the gear in reverse and the reverse light was on the drive light still kept blinking. If it is the park sensor..is it the same part that you replaced on your other video with access through the driver tire?? Also do you think this could be a different issue??

In Edmonton, the last two weeks was extreme cold. I was -30 to -45 average. One night my honda odyssey 2007 was started kind of pushing/ jerking and I noticed that the D was blinking and the engine light was on the dashboard. The next day I took it to my friend's house to see if I can see the code. He looked at with his machine but he deleted it to see if it is permanent code it will come again. But he forgot the code and I was not able to know the code. After that extreme the Van was okay and no D blinking situation. But I feel a kind of pushing very light not noticeable. Can you please advise me on what can I do in this situation. I have kids and I do not want it to stop middle of the road.
Just a quick thanks for the vids over the years. Question for you if you have a minute. My 05 TL automatic threw a code up and it is P0957 auto shift manual mode circuit low. In addition the D light is blinking on dash with check engine light. It can be driven some if the auto shift is used. It will not change gears automatically. Any ideas? I just put 2k into the car for a water pump, belt etc.. Thanks again.

Have honda fit 2005. First start in the morning, shift to d, and car doesn't move and d blinking. After 5 or 8 minutes the car move slowly. I restart the car and everything is fine. Hey if you still have your ride to get rid of the engine sound you gotta change your pvc you must get the original part and not the cheaper one or else the sound will come back to know if that’s really what causing the sound run your engine and unscrew the oil cap and you will hear air come out and the sound should stop and when you tighten the oil cap the sound will come back but yeah about your video my D light is blinking but the transmission is doing good so I have to change a sensor do you know how much sensor will cost and for someone to put it on for me
I have a 2005 acura tsx ..wheb i get to 2nd gear my cause like over revvs around 20mph.. always around that speed...been like that for about 9 months...now today when i came from the store to park the car the D light was flashing..so i parked n turned the car off and back on and it wasn't flushing no more.. I have a 2005 TL and the Drive light was blinking. But when I drive it, the car will go into gears but at certain times the gear will feel stiff and slow my car down and I can’t drive unless it’s under 35 mph. Idk the car has to be scanned for codes and it sounds like you have broken engine mounts too.

My D light flashed once in my 2011 Honda accord. I had no rpms and speedometer read 0. I pulled over at a gas station turned my car off waited hoping it would start again and it did. I have 110000 miles on it and do need a tune up. Is there anything you could recommend.
Could be anything transmission needs to be scanned for codes you need a special scanner to scan these codes.

What if it's not giving a code? My light only blinks it i get on the freeway. And we took it to run a code and it didn't give one.
Could temperature affect it? Like today it was 10 degrees when I woke up and it started flashing after I drove a few minutes but then I turned off the car and started it later on and no flashing? Never blinked before but I did have it rebuilt months ago.
No blinking light means somthings going on get it scanned by a all system scanner.

What if all the gears are blinking except for park. D N and R are all blinking and whenever I hit the brakes I hear a clicking from the automatic shift knob. If I had to guess, I'd probably say it's the brake shift solenoid.
Hey i had a problem with my transmission like 5 months ago the car wouldn’t got over 35 then didnt move at all no lights went on or anything and so i got my transmission rebuilt and when i picked it up the D light would blink and then it stopped for a while and now on it does it on random days it does have like a little weird shift or something when going from like 35 to 40 what can this be
you need to scan the transmission for codes with a all system scanner
my 06 civic has the blinking D light. When im driving and kinda press on gas then it kinda jerks instead of shifting...then I let go the gas and slowly step on gas until it gradually picks up speed and it will shift with no problem. Only time it jerks between shifts is when i step on the gas more. This have to do with the sensors also?

It was late night, so I reversed it and suddenly when I put transmission into reverse D light also appeared and started blinking. I turned off the vehicle, restarted it and blinking disappeared. Hey bro when I brought my car last year's Gilbert again I put a new Cadillac converter on the back because it was throwing the PO420 code Bank 1 efficiency below threshold so I changed it now it started November and then it would the check engine light would come on and off and then when I will put gas in and the check engine light would come on to sometimes but now it's just staying on what could that be I don't think it's the Cadillac converter I think it's maybe a O2 sensor or something's making it run rich what do you think

I went online to Discount Cadillac converters and I got a Evan Fischer brand refurbished but I never change the sensor
And I brought the car same time last year and I changed it at this time and now it's back to the same thing
PO420 code which is the Cadillac converter on the firewall side passenger side

@@dynoorawr69 no I have not bro. The best advice I would give is call some local shops and ask if they’ll scan ur car and if it’ll scan transmission codes. The cheapest dealer was $100. Most local shops are willing to do it for free

it all depends on how long the sensor was bad or is on its way out ask them what the code is or what is it on the transmission that's giving the problem ask questions cause they can replace a sensor and say its a rebuild have you ever changed transmission fluid if you can get the codes i can tell you what they are and what they do.
fabolousg4ever this has been an ongoing issue with this car for months. Mainly just sits anymore. I've replace the 3rd and 4th gear sensors, the speed sensor and the shift solenoid sensor with no luck. They said it's a torque converter code. Car has a hell of a shake when you get on it. Replaced the rear mount. It was in two pieces like yours and still acts up. I just dropped 2k on a transmission but still not convinced I need it. I've replaced the fluid 3 times but the first was burned and black which was right after I bought the car
I'm gonna put the new transmission in Saturday. if it doesn't fix my issue I'll be back to get your views on the next step👍. You've helped me fix my Acura so many times
Yea sounds like your transmission wasn't taken care of someone abused it and didn't service it sorry to hear that from that burnt fluid sounds like you are gonna need a rebuild.

You can go to a reputable mechanic or buy the scanner and check it urself

nope means it could be a clogged switch or somthing internally wrong best thing to do is to get the transmission scanned first
not changing the oil could be but sometime by that time its to late.

All you have to do check if any of the sensors is broken or you check the starting sensor which model of honda is that?

I scanned my car and the code P1298 popped up . It was the torque converter clutch solenoid. I replaced it with a used one and it is still doing the same thing.. any reasons why??
Don't use a used one buy a new one and reset the code for the transmission

Yeah I had to change my 3rd pressure switch on my 04 to at 130k 2 months ago. All good now. Get scan tools people they save you so much money.
Yes exactly they are worth there weight in gold the scanners tell you exactly what's wrong so you just fix that and be good to go
@ modsforever Funny thing happened when I change both switches the 3rd and fourth like in your video. A few days later later my d light starts blinking in the highway then after 20 minutes it stops and stay green again. Have you seen this before?
What kind of pressure switches did you buy oem or aftermarket.
@@fabolousg4ever I bought OEM switches. The d light was blinking a day after for 15 minutes. Been driving it since it happened and it didn’t come back yet. Hopefully it just adjusting to the new one or something. Just strange. Wondering if that’s normal

Mines flashing D intermittently. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I got a lil scanner but no codes. Trans shifts fine, fluid is fine. I've checked scanner as D was flashing but still no codes pull up. How do I get these stores codes? I got a 2007 Honda Ridgeline, not allot of info found on these except take to dealer.
No you need a scanner that can scan transmission codes the scanner you have probably doesn't have a scanning transmission feature go to autozone or advanced auto for them to scan it for you
Thanks, didn't know if I could jump pins and get fish codes or something. I remembered I had another scanner that I didn't like. It has the feature. Says the 3rd gear switch. They are cheap, I hear it's common. So I'm gonna change it. Thanks for the input.

my 08 civic hybrid has the blinking D light. One day while I was at the traffic stop the car started jerking and going from one gear to another, then I turned it off when I try to restart it, it won’t start again till date. I towed it to Honda and they keep charging me for more money testing but yet to find the problem
Has there been any updates done to the car has the transmission fluid ever been replaced and is the hybrid battery god cause when they start to get bad they start giving issues .
On my 05 tl with 205k the drive light doesn't blink but when you shift it into drive it sits for a few seconds then engages into gear once it does I hear a grinding noise I drives until warm then it won't move ( engine running)

@@anthonycapezio3990 I had a 02 TL also started having transmission trouble with it over time the repair was going to cost more than I paid for the car ( it was paid in full at the time ) so I sold it just to get rid of it. Wasn't until my 05 I did my research and found this to be a common problem.

I'm having a similar issue while the transmission shifts its starting to slowly taking longer to shift from 3rd to 4th gear otherwise I love my TL great cars 😎
Did you ever find out what was wrong with it I’m going to change all the sensor but want input
@Brito Cuevas I had the 3rd to 4th transmission sensor replaced and it fixed the problem
I have a Acura tl 2005. With the blinking ligth on D when driving it does want to go. RP M go up

I WOULD GET THE TRANSMISSION SCAN FOR CODES AND GO FROM THERE SOMTHING SIMPLE THAT A SCANNER CAN TELL YOU EXACTLY WHATS GOING ON.
