- Wow... not much preplanning .. packed and went for an overnight trip to Springfield, Illinois. Lots of things to see there. This is Part one in my adventure to get there. Had a few issues.. it's about getting there, not the destination. You really see cool things when you get lost...hahaha. I'm sure learning a lot of things by traveling by myself. One of the things is confidence... as a female motorcycle rider you have to be able to take care of yourself.

Good evening Crystal, I wish I had known about that kite festival I think my grandkids would really enjoy it. I didn’t know the old chain of rocks bridge was still open to pedestrians I remember walking out on it about 50 years ago, there were holes in the bridge decking that you had to watch out for especially if you were out there at night.
Yes, you can walk in it just fine, they put some cool stuff out on it. They also just redid the park on the Missouri side. I won’t go there alone… but in a group is fine. There used to be a lot of car break ins down there.

Have you tried both HDs out on the highway to compare them?
I love them both in different ways. I had the Heritage lowered 1 in and I can ride it pretty well. I’m just not entirely flat footed. The Hydra Glide was lowered 2 inches and it fits me great, it seems easier to ride. On the highway both bikes are awesome! The Hydra Glide is so beautiful that I feel like I’m in a parade when I ride it..
