  • The road home was long but we took the scenic route through I-40 in Tennessee. The mountains are breathtaking on a motorcycle! ‪@harleydavidson‬ ‪@saddlemenusa‬ ‪@khrome_werks‬

    Brother loved the content throwing down miles, your bike sounded outstanding! I’ll tell you, there’s some places out there they just can’t maintain roads. Recently rolled across I-70 in Colorado, and enjoyed some of the worst, beaten up, fractured highway I ever traveled on. They didn’t just get that way overnight or even in the last year or two.

    • @coffeehogs
      @coffeehogs  3 місяці тому +1

      I don’t understand how infrastructure in this country is not a priority right now. There are a lot of bad roads, bridges etc. they’re rough for cages. So much worse for motorcycles. Thanks for watching my brother. Be safe out there. ✌🏼🙏🏼

      @@coffeehogs Some states get it, and they can’t blame weather. Have rolled all over MT, UT, WY, SD where they get brutal weather, and for the most part, most their roads are top notch and/or they are actively out fixing and maintaining them. MN, LA, CO, NM, to name a few are a sleep at the wheel. Just watching other UA-camrs on the trail, you get feedback where infrastructure is ripped to shreds, and even through their cities and smaller towns. Another reason to justify upgrading our suspension and seat. 😂🇺🇸

    • @coffeehogs
      @coffeehogs  3 місяці тому +1

      @DeBa1226 true that, LOL. I did recently upgrade. That ditch I took would’ve for sure messed up a stock suspension and definitely caused real damage.

      @@coffeehogs There used to be a scenic highway I used to ride in the mountains often on an old Softail years ago. Every single time for years I tried to anticipate this one spot on a sweeping curve, I looked for it, even got up on my fwd controls a bit, because no matter how hard I looked, or how slow I backed off to, I absolutely could not see the buckle or a ridge in the surface that felt like it compressed every vertebrae in my spine, every single time; I never missed it! I nearly pulled off the road the last time I hit it, to walk back and see what the heck it was. It was a chiropractors dream, and I could never miss it and always thought, man I can’t be the only unlucky dude that gets tired of hitting what you can’t see. 😂

    • @coffeehogs
      @coffeehogs  3 місяці тому +1

      @DeBa1226 🤣🤣 that’s funny. It’s hard to see them on the bike for whatever reason. That training kicks in and you stand up at least. Avoid that chiropractor at all costs!

    I-95 turns to crap once you hit South Carolina. It may take me an extra 10 hours but when I go to Maine I use 75 to 85\26\81\84\90\295\95. Looked like a fun ride.

    • @coffeehogs
      @coffeehogs  3 місяці тому +1

      That’s a fact! I’m not very familiar with the backroads in that area but I would’ve preferred to avoid that road. It’s in such bad conditions. Nevertheless, we had a great time. Thanks so much for watching! 🙏🏼✌🏼

      It’s always such a good feeling meeting with our community of bikers out there. Such a vast yet small world with one thing in common. The love for everything bikes!
      That’s the most beautiful ride down that gorge. Even in the rain, it is so peaceful and awe inspiring. I love TN. It calls me. We may have touched on this when we talked. Thanks for watching! ✌🏼🙏🏼

    • @coffeehogs
      @coffeehogs  3 місяці тому

      I’m sure drivers in cages are not happy with that either. Thing is, there were several smaller ditches in that stretch of road. The roads leading to bridges were so uneven also. Very uncomfortable to ride through that whole area. Makes you picker up. And I don’t mean your lips 😂
      Thanks for watching! ✌🏼🙏🏼

    Awesome video brother! I live in Michigan and ride down to Tennessee at least once a year. Smokey Mountain Harley Davidson, the riders destination. I highly recommend the Milwaukee Leather deluxe rain gear, paired with Nelson Rigg rain boots. I have them and never fret the rain. No sense in getting wet when you don't have to!!

    • @coffeehogs
      @coffeehogs  3 місяці тому +2

      Sean thanks my brother. I frequent Smokey Mountain HD as well. Love that area of Tennessee. I agree with you. I have rain gear and waterproof boots. However, in this heat, it’s more uncomfortable at times than just riding through it and cooling off. Space is another thing. My son’s Street Bob can’t carry much so I had to take his stuff with me. It’s a little tricky going on long trips with very little room. Thanks for watching brother! ✌🏼🙏🏼

    Riding the interstate at night is extremely dangerous. Animals and debris are obstacles. A biker hit a recap at night and was killed on 95.

    • @coffeehogs
      @coffeehogs  3 місяці тому

      Although it’s not in my video, we did stay in Titusville that night because it got too late and we were just too tired. And you’re right, I-95 is a mess at night. But I really have to try that route one time.

    Looks like it was a long trip home but so cool that you were able to do that trip with your son. It was neat to see you go by Pooler, you had just passed my parents exit. It sounded a lot worse on the bike. The mic didn’t pick that up good. That ditch was at least eight inches or more. Only reason I got on that left lane is because we were about to exit for some gas. That whole section of 95 is awful man. I know now to stay on the left lane as long as possible. Crazy!
