I swear you work like magic! It looks so easy. Why is it that I watch a ton of videos, have all the equipment & tools I need, but when I pick up my scissors I just freeze? Lack of self confidence? I know I’ve heard that it will come the more I do it but gosh, it’s hard to be patient with myself. I feel like I know enough after watching so many videos but then I act like I don’t know a thing when I start to do mine! It’s frustrating. 😢
I just got my Maltese completely shaved for the summer he was so matted. Paid over 100.00 dollars + gave a tip. My hair cut doesn't cost anything like that.
What a beautiful well behaved dog to groom.Bless him. 🐶🙏Sat quietly allowing u do groom him without a murmur.Makes grooming so much easier. I have a Shih Tzu but when it comes to grooming his face and trimming his nails he's impossible. Started grooming him when he was 3 months old. Good video. I groom him every morning but his full grooming is once a month. He adores his groomer.
Wooow great work!! Such a difference before/after! 😍 I also own a Maltese 😊 and their hair require so much care to be beautifull. My Buffy loves to be groomed, I have quite profi eqipment and plenty of shampoos and conditioners at home, but am 1000miles far from your skills. So I combine salon and home care. Regarding prices, i would calculate how much more you need - time, shampoo, water/energy, ... and then just reflect this difference in prices. Dog's owner can do the same, calculate how much is monthly visit e.g.per year, compare to less frequent visits including extra costs, and then decide. In my region (central Európe) many salons have extra costs for "neglected" dogs, some even distinguish levels.
Regarding your question I think that a base rate works If the pet parent keeps up the coat reasonably. Extra work that goes past a regular groom pays extra Then there are the ones that only need a little tidy up And sometimes we would hold a price low for longtime senior owners on a fixed pension I guess the actual answer is “It depends “ 😂 What a little cutie pie! We used to call the rough- in “Quick and Dirty” Thanks for bringing us along
Maybe this one is closer to the cut I should do for Teddy? Oh I don't know what cut to try with him ugh. Thank you so much for these videos! I truly appreciate them all. Great work Suzanne, love your name btw, my daughters middle name. Teddy keeps stealing his brushes LOL. So naughty lol. See ya on the next one.

Abby is back for the first time since this video was made. The pet parents don’t tip, expect base price, and bring a photo of fancy instructions for the groom. Watch live Now.
I can't believe that her parents don't tip you !!😭 I'd never do that to Coopers groomer. She always gets at least a $10 tip....Cooper is a Multi/Poo, 10 months old tomorrow!
I’m a cosmetologist that recently rescued a poodle mix. I had her groomed at 4 months & tipped the groomer $15.00. Four weeks later I groomed my dog myself. I’m learning some tips from you. Your videos are my favorite to watch. Thank you ♥️🐾
In regards to your question about pricing of dogs that get done once a month than dogs that get done every 4-6 weeks….my answer if no, they should pay more because it takes longer. Just like our house cleaners…if they come once a month, it’s more than if they come every 2 weeks because the house takes longer to clean. That’s one huge transformation! Excellent work 🎉
Can you put a link on here to where we can get the “wrap” that you put around her head/ears please? Also, the bows haven’t been available for quite some time that you have linked on here. I’d love to find bows that are easier to put in than rubber bands because I can’t figure out how to get those burgers in my MalShi’s hair!
Im glade im not the omly one who dances around the table 😅 good work out to . I did my Maltese poodle today dancing around so i put on music and sprayed calming spray for travaling it worked until i nipped a nail omg blood everywhere poor baby hes not very good when it comes to nail trims so they were a bit long it finaly stoped i put corn flour on it bless him I cut his ears short but i do like them longer so i will let them grow 😮 . He dosnt like the blow dry he tryes to eat the air so cute Thank you for all your videos i enjoye watching them ❤
Why don’t you use the whiting shampoo ? Also my Maltese hates the bath, Conditionerthey have a whiting lconditioner that works so well anyway you are a very amazing Groomer, is this event about 60.00 dollars or more im in CA an it’s 60d an up. I try so hard to keep the knots out I get up at 4:am to comb her gently but she won’t hold still her eyes have an infection. They’re all red and I’ve taken her to the vet and she has shaved around her nose and eyes so it would the hair wouldn’t infect it worse and gave her a shot and she got pretty good for a while and now she’s got it again. Have you ever heard of a dog having I have a Maltese with a infectious eye problem. I would like to know I don’t know where else to take her.? you are so very good at what you do. It’s a blessing to watch you wishing I could do it half as good as you thank you for sharing with us.
I use the best shampoo for the dogs skin. If I perceive that a whiting shampoo will be too harsh, I will not use it on that dog. Many whitening shampoos are also harsh on the eyes. Be careful around the eyes with those products. Eye infections have many causes: According to an AI overview Maltese dogs are particularly prone to eye issues like glaucoma, cataracts, and "aberrant cilia" (misdirected eyelashes), which can cause irritation, redness, excessive tearing, and even blindness if left untreated; proper grooming to keep hair trimmed around the eyes is crucial to prevent these problems. Key points about Maltese eye problems: Aberrant cilia: This is a common issue where the eyelashes grow inwards, irritating the cornea and causing discomfort, often seen as squinting, excessive tearing, and redness around the eye. Glaucoma: A serious condition where pressure builds up inside the eye, leading to vision loss if not treated promptly. Symptoms include watery eyes, redness, and squinting. Cataracts: Cloudy areas in the lens of the eye that can impair vision, often occurring in older dogs. Other potential eye problems in Maltese dogs: Conjunctivitis: Inflammation of the lining of the eyelid, which can be caused by allergies, infections, or irritants. Dry eye (keratoconjunctivitis sicca): Lack of tear production, causing discomfort and eye irritation. Progressive retinal atrophy (PRA): A genetic condition that leads to gradual vision loss due to degeneration of the retina. What to look for: Excessive tearing Redness in the eyes Squinting Cloudy appearance in the eyes Pawing at the eyes Difficulty closing the eyelids What to do: Regular vet checkups: Essential for early detection and treatment of eye problems. Proper grooming: Regularly trim hair around the eyes to prevent irritation from eyelashes. Eye cleaning: Gently wipe away any discharge with a clean, damp cloth Consult a veterinarian: If you notice any signs of eye discomfort or changes in vision, immediately contact your veterinarian for diagnosis and treatment.
If a dog is not kept up you should charge extra. People do delay bringing the dog in to try to get a few extra weeks out of a groom because groomers do charge a lot. If the rates were more reasonable, people would bring their dogs in more often.
I think that if the pet parent cares for the coat in the time between appointments (no matting), then the price should be the same. I only groom my own dogs though, I would probably think differently if grooming others' dogs was my job.
I understand the frustration of the owners that miss appointments but that sweet baby just loves being pampered. I just turned off another groomer that was frustrated because the baby was matted and urine smell… But if you truly love baby’s and making them feel pampered then… let that go.. she doesn’t know the difference…. And to answer your question Absolutely not… owner needs to pay for time.. but that sweet doll on your table is feeling rambunctious and younger by the clip. You do great…
You should charge close to double for the amount of work you just did. People love to wait extra long to get more bang for their buck, but it’s twice as much work. You should be compensated for it. Plus they don’t tip. That’s absolutely rude.
The dogs that comes in every three months should be charged more. Why more, because they are in the worst condition imaginable, and the groomer has to work much longer to get that dog back in shape 😮

Ich wünsche mir für meinen Hund, daß er nicht angeleint sein muss. Finde dieses Baden für mich sehr unangenehm... würde mit meinem Hund wieder gehen...geht auch anders

Thank you!
Me too! I decided this time I am streaming this to our 85” TV and putting my grooming table in front of it! And doing one part at a time!
I just got my Maltese completely shaved for the summer he was so matted. Paid over 100.00 dollars + gave a tip. My hair cut doesn't cost anything like that.
Thanks for this video. You are doing it soo good, its a great help for me to take care for my Maltezer.
Adorable baby 🐶 and an amazing stylist !
The pup looks so cute afterwards. I enjoyed watching your video.
How is Abby so calm? My maltipoo puppy acts crazy! Great job .
She is a good girl.
Awesome makeover groom, Suzanne! Congrats on the 23.6K subs, 50K on the horizon!
Thank you so much!!
I wish you were in Dallas so I could bring my Mimi to you. Beautiful just Beautiful
So good 👍 👏 👌 A place I know of said it would take 3 hours to groom my puppy. It shouldnt take that long should it?

What a beautiful salon you have. What darling little girl! I have started to groom my Bichon mix with just a puppy cut. It’s a work in progress 😀

😂
Your amazing great job ❤
SOOO CUTE GOOD JOB!!!!
Is there a particular reason why you don’t use blending shears or chunk shears on her? Just wondering what your thoughts are….
Cutting through so much hair, and having the owner rush me, I found it faster to use straight shears.
I groom my dogs who have similar coats and thinning shears are a godsend! I think you would like the results.
What size blade did you use on her body? I have a 5 n 1 Kenchii and was wondering what I should use.
5 in 1 blades are too short for this look.
The Kenchii Flash5™ Standard blade is one of the newest blades to the Kenchii. The Standard Blade is compatible with the Flash5™! It has a size adjustable slider from: 30-15-10-9-8 setting.

Sono molto contenta di avere un maltese ancora ha 5, mesi ma il pelo diventera' cosi' da grande?
No debería.
Love your work! I also have a Abby she’s Maltese too😊🩷
So I have twin Maltese puppies and they fight me when grooming. Any tips for me?

Especially if the dog goes several months like this one. That is like cleaning a hoarders house.
What is done about the reddish stain under eyes?
There are options for the pet parent to try, however there is not much that a groomer can do.
I have updated the links to only include my Amazon Storefront, the wraps are under the dryers section. Bands are best for putting in bows.
I liked the scissor work
Like grandmothers who bathe their grandchildren, he was so overwhelmed that he had no choice but to stop to take a bath. 😂😂😂
There is wisdom in this statement.
Where can I buy a round table like you have? The link is no longer good that you have on here.
It is an Aeolus 28” Round Table with storage. I would imagine the Aeolus website would have one.

What kind of shampoo do you use
I use Igroom products
What original blade was used to knock off most of the hair?
5/8 ht
Great job on both dogs. What name brand of clippers are you using? I need to get a new one for my new Yorkie. Thanks for sharing.
Artero Spektra.

No. They should pay a different price due to the amount of time passed from the last full grooming session.
🙏❤️
When a dog is not groomed for a long time then it is easier to work with the dog as there is more fur to do so,i feel they should pay regular price
It is definitely not easier. You are mistaken.
You should charge close to double for the amount of work you just did. People love to wait extra long to get more bang for their buck, but it’s twice as much work. You should be compensated for it. Plus they don’t tip. That’s absolutely rude.

I thought you had to stick that ear cleaner all the way in the ear. This is good to know it’s not necessary.
I fill up each ear canal, and let them shake it out.
Even I’m not using that much water when I take shower….
She Such a Good Girl! Not so, my Cotton. 😥
