Ren met Sam Tompkins when Sam was 15-16 years old, singing his heart out. Ren was having a rough day with his health so he was heading home when he saw Sam. He went up to him & explained that he’d make more money if people could hear him better. Ren sat & accompanied him on guitar, not even knowing some of the songs (!) Sam said that Ren changed his life that day, giving him the confidence to make singing his career. There’s a short video clip of that day floating around online somewhere. 💜

As an addict who's been in recovery for nearing 30 years, this song really touched me. It spoke of the scitzophrenic nature of multiple personalities existing in the same brain, struggling to dominate each other. Near to the point of insanity, itself. Ren also relayed the hope involved with pushing through the darkness to another side. In my addiction and in my recovery, I have experienced much of both ... Thank you for posting this !

I LOVE that you keep sharing this song with so many. This is the kind of song that deserves as large an audience as possible. Thanks for spreading the Ren love. I'm not sure if you've listened to "Money Game" 2 yet, but if you have, you should make reference to it when Ren does the "she sells sea shells bit" in "Hi Ren", most people don't know that it's a call back to "Money game"2. (But more so when you know) Just more Ren genius. If you haven't listened to "Money Game" 2 yet, you really should.

It's obvious how much your friend knows about music. He knew within a minute that Ren is multitalented. I've seen a lot of reactors recognize his talent, but is the first time I've heard someone list the several talents within such a short time.
Yet again.. I'm back for this reaction.. So many of us knew about Ren & his gift before he started getting recognised..but to see & know that his talent reaches so very far is an absolute gift. I love Ren, but as a mom, my heart goes out to his mother. The worry involved in nuturing such a huge talent can't be underestimated. Good job all around.
One of the BEST and wisest reviews out there (yes, sadly there are other reviewers who used subtitles instead of listening to the heart and soul) and I appreciated it dudes! Cheers!
You picked a vocal for Ren that didn't do him justice, why not wade in the water, I shot sheriff zion hip hop for busking or bittersweet symphony, life is funny, and not to mention ocen ft Eden Nash or the hunger. Love these guest reactions with brilliantly credible people.
I’m from the uk, I’ve just subscribed, as a fan of Ren, I have followed your journey down the Ren Rabbit hole, & especially love how you enjoy introducing people to Hi Ren, I look forward to seeing you and Ren come together to discuss his music. Look forward to following your Chanel, your love & joy for music is a joy to watch. X
Might be wise to play Money Game 1 & 2 to people after they've watched Hi Ren, so that they have context as to what it means when he talks about selling sea shells. Everyone chuckles at that part of Hi Ren, but it's just because of the way he says it, not because they understand the reference - which was Ren's biggest exposure prior to Hi Ren.
I only ran in to Ren's music last week, i've been listening with tears in my eyes and a lump in my throath with just about every other song. The man is a genius and a troubled soul. This isn easy listening but absolutly brilliant!
REN kills it in this piece it's absolutely deep and his artistic chops are on spot! This piece is a breath of fresh air in a deep dark rotten place. Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter
Consider showing some of the more original performances with Sam Tompkins or The Big Push. You keep showing cover songs when Ren and Sam have several original songs they've written and The Big Push has dozens of originals. When you show cover songs you're excluding showing all the other things that they're capable of. Them performing their originals, shows it all. Further, the Music Crowns version of Blind Eye is probably the best performance available and it's live as well. Consider mixing things up a bit if you show future people Blind Eye rather than the busking version and this holds true for a few of the songs. Also it might be fun to go back and check out some very early Ren stuff. You can find performances from 12-14 years ago when he was just a kid. I think the oldest one I have is when he was 17 hanging out with some friends and someone recorded. But he was also in the band Trick the Fox when he was young and their UA-cam channel is still up with some of their songs.
Love it much respect for giving a newcomer a much deserved thank you- this kid is a musical and lyrical genius… every song has a full story … and sometimes continuous story
I think a lot of reactors have jumped on the Ren bandwagon for views alone, regardless of talent on show. However, I do believe you are in it to highlight his craft to fellow artistes and bring Ren to a larger audience. Big thumbs up from me.

React to Ocean next, it quickly turned into one of my favourite Ren songs, it shows all his musical talents and has Eden too.
After every Ren reaction I aaaalways come back to this one, this is the best ever.
I love the looks u make when reacting to people reacting to Ren. I love u have shown Ren is unreal. I actually love this channel
Beautiful reaction gentleman I've had the privilege of being able to watch Ren for several years. Truly the modern-day Minstrel poet musician and bard. I will check out your grooves and I am looking forward to it!🌿💔
I am here for every first timer you bring on 😊. Great reaction!
Thank you 1 Ton. No one else saw the blood on the "Pig-headed butcher". Like arrogant doctors. Keep it up the great work Black Pegasus
BP that was such an awesome reaction, I just love once again how you bring in such interesting guys, this one for me was a real real pleasure to watch, especially your facial expressions and just love the continued support for Ren.
Awesome!! Love the Ren reaction.
Recently became member and just saw the Nightwish reaction too.
If I can recommend (Avantasia - the scarecrow live at wacken)
Love your channel and I am watching your freestyles and original songs too.
Thank you
I’m seriously not getting bored of this. Shows how good Hi Ren is and how good you are, BP. Keep it up.
It's obvious how much your friend knows about music. He knew within a minute that Ren is multitalented. I've seen a lot of reactors recognize his talent, but is the first time I've heard someone list the several talents within such a short time.
Your smile when he mentions Em right before the Em bar is great
Yes , always here for it !
Just watched Chinchilla do an interview with another reactor.
She is so awesome
I love watching people experiance Ren for the first time. He really is impressive.
These are the only Hi Ren reactions that I watch now. I’m trying to get off this stuff😂😂😂
Yet again.. I'm back for this reaction.. So many of us knew about Ren & his gift before he started getting recognised..but to see & know that his talent reaches so very far is an absolute gift.
BP you probably won't see my comment..but.. Thankyou for sharing Ren's journey.. you're an absolute beautiful human. Sending ☮️💓 and light.from the UK.🇬🇧
You have the best reaction channel right now... I love that you bring real hiphop heads. I would love to see 1Ton react to the tale of jenny and screech ( Full )
7:19 WTF Recreational sadness 😂😂This guy right here on Left must’ve never heard of Professor Pyg from DC comics.
Gives me chills every time I hear this masterpiece
I only just discovered this song but this is my one of my favorite reactions for sure I hope Ren sees it ♡
I fu*king lov it when you do this, well done 🔥 reaction 👏
Black P I appreciate that you’ve taken the reaction format and just shifted it to a guy who is showing his buddies dope ass music. It’s something that all of us have done, yet you put it to video format! Love it brother keep it up! Y’all gonna hit 100k in no time 🎉🤌🏼🔥
i love the way BP speaks to us with looks though the screen
You got it 1Ton…he really is tryin to help people with Hi Ren. It’s very personal, he lets you in, but it’s very relatable too.
I love Ren, but as a mom, my heart goes out to his mother. The worry involved in nuturing such a huge talent can't be underestimated. Good job all around.
I think I read that she’s a vocal coach?
Who doesn't love showing people new music an seeing them vibe? It's like the first time over an over🍒 here for you and #Ren always ❤️
Absolutely spot on….

Fantastic reaction love these !
"I go by many names also...
Some people know me as hope ..
Some people know me as the voice you hear when you loosen the noose of the rope"....
Powerful moment. I felt that.
"So cower at the man I've become, when I sing from the top of my lungs"
I can't stop singing that part.
8:40 You litteraly watching a Live-Reaction everytime you introduce Artist to other People :)
Thankyou for sharing Ren...he deserves everything good..We are loyal fans..RENegades always.☮️💓🇬🇧
Love this you are so funny together ❤
Dude, 1Ton is sick. LOVE his insights on each video addressed. This is my first video I’ve seen of your channel. Thanks for representing us badass music lovers in our mid-ages. I believe in staying young not only by keeping a curious perspective and holding on the the wonder of life, but by always expanding and revisiting our musical experiences. Music is literally energy and experienced through waves in space. It can affect a person emotionally in seconds without the person’s conscious effort or approval and I know it is my secret to staying young. “Don’t let the old man(/woman) in” - Toby Keith. Stay young in your mind! Your body will follow. Keep that zest for life
Pissed myself at the roll eyes one the initial Eminem mention… 😂
Thank you for one great video!
I like reaction video like that because 1- I love sharing what I like with other people 2- I love looking at emotion on others people face. I know it sounds strangely vampiric, but seing people happy, or surprised, or anything, I always find that kinda mesmerizing,
And the emotion on both your faces man!!
The quiet joy to share something you like and seing the person appreciate it, the surprise and apreciation of something really great in 1Ton's look.. That was beautigul to see! And seing you singing along with some of Ren's lyrics... Strangly satisfying to know I'm not the only crazy one doing that when I really connect with someone's lyrics !
So yeah, thank you!
Maybe I’m wrong but I feel from watching your reactions that ren and edens ‘oceans’ might be a favourite and right up your street.. it’s sublime. Please check it out
One of my all-time favorite reactions, and lots of respect to 1 Ton! I never get tired of seeing people react to Ren either.
BP bout to have 6 dudes lined up to interview Ren with him!😂😂😂
REN’s voice is absolutely stunning. So incredibly beautiful. He stands out.
Ask your guest not to see anything Ren on his own. Invite him again to The tale of Jenny and Screech and Hunger. Show him Ren's width. Love his reaction
How can you tell BP has listened to this a few times? He's mouthing the lyrics as Ren sings. Love so much the community introductions to Ren. Thank you so much for doing this!!! Don't know your connections, but I'd love to see you do a reaction like this with Keanu Reeves.
Hail to the BardCore!!
Love these reactions as you're introducing people to Ren - I've listened to Hi Ren a ton of times since I first stumbled across it and every single time I hear it, it gives me goosebumps.
We don't tip, we expect employers to pay a living wage. But yes, throw money at the worthy.
My understanding is this was done in one take, multiple cameras. This one song and video caused me to fall in love with all his songs and writing. I can't get enough. Thank you for giving this the analysis 🙏✝️🙏
You tip your waiters/waitresses in America bc they don’t get a living wage. In Europe, they earn a living wage, so anything they get in the form of tips is a bonus for them.
Another great guest reaction!!
THIS was a great reaction. This man 1 Ton, is LOVE. Loved the props to buskers and he's so observant. I am so proud of Ren when I watch these music industry pros sit in awe. Please CONTINUE ON!.❤❤❤
I would have played him something different on the second track but hey that's just me.
I agree
Love all Rens work and he's so dynamic, he's a true artist
another great breakdown! Tho I disagree with Sam being the better singer (even tho I love Sam too) they have both have different strengths, It’s not all about the high notes 😉
I love Ren and listen to this particular song daily! Although I love & listen to all of Ren's music! This guy is EPIC! He is absolutely so talented! I can't wait to see his career blossom!
First time ever I don't think you've done Ren justice with the song choice
Man, you introducing people to ren who get it fills the void for me for all the times I try to share with people who are always disinterested lol they’re always responding like I’m wasting their time 😂
