I have a medium skin tone ( I’m mixed) and still all the shades ‘made for me’ are way too orange- I don’t think brands understand that the darker you are doesn’t mean the more orange you are😳

Yeah people have different tones some people are more warm toned and some are more cool toned but these companies seem to think just because you're darker your skin is warm

I'm genuinely gobsmacked at the fact that you complained about shade ranges in many brands. No other white beauty guru that I follow has mentioned or complained about it. brands - and drugstore brands in particular - need to realise that it's not just white people who wear makeup. as a person with pale skin it's hard to find a foundation light enough sometimes but foundation mixers work perfectly well if you're pale, however the undertones of foundation darkeners always make the foundation ashy which i know is not a look all dark-skinned people go for. most drugstore brands only cater to white people on the light/medium spectrum and imo it's a race issue. there's literally no other excuse for it (not that being a racist is an excuse). it's nice that they came out with a lighter shade but 3 shades for darkish skin isn't good enough really. the range needs maybe one more pale shade with a peachy undertone, some more medium shades and a shit ton more dark shades before i'll consider it a decent shade range. their fit me foundation definitely has one of the best shade ranges ive seen for a drugstore foundation tho
When fenty came out with their massive shade range, so many were sold out . It’s not an excuse for other brands to say that darker shades won’t sell cause they do🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️

I love the formula of the Fit Me concealers but I had to buy two shades and mix them together in order to achieve my shade. I’m so glad that they have decided to expand their range, but I just hope they release the new shades internationally. Great video as always 💙
Here in Portugal we only have shade 20 -.- yes because here there is totally only 1 skin colour in the entire country, we are all clones... Everyone complains in Us and the uk (and they should!) But here it's sooooo worse!

Patriciaaajones once they launch the shades here, they’ll move over to Portugal (hopefully). It sucks but they bring out new shades in the countries with the largest target market aka US and then Uk a year later and the rest of the world a year after that

I was pretty surprised when I found the 05 shade in stores here in Finland like almost two weeks ago. Usually we get new launches very late or not at all. Now I've had mine for almost two weeks and I'm so happy with it! Still waiting for Superstay 24h foundation launching here, that would be AWESOME.
Thought I'd add to the discussion about shade ranges, I'm mixed race so have a medium skin tone and I remember when I first started getting properly into makeup I was about 13/14 (2013/14) and obviously I didn't have a job or anything but I remember having all of these drugstore foundations and that were raved about by Zoella and other beauty gurus and I went into boots and found there were very few shades that were anywhere close to dark enough when I'm not even that pale, since then I've got a job and stuff so am more drawn to high end brands which tend to have a larger shade range so hopefully with positive steps like these I will be able to use the face products that everybody else can use. Xxx
Soph, I had the same problem as you were i couldn’t find a concealer light enough to highlight under eyes with so I decided to try the collection lasting perfection colour correction concealer in the lemon (yellow) colour and it works really well it’s so yellow at first but once I started to blend it was perfect if have the same type of skin undertone/shade as you and it worked perfectly and I really suggest you try it.

I love the way that Soph uses her platform to address these issues.
Here in America I have been to several CVS and Walgreens drugstores and they do not have the new Fit Me shades even though they’ve been out for awhile now! They do, however carry the new Ivory shade in the Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser concealer but when you put it side by side with Light and Fair it doesn’t look any lighter.
Try mixing in the NYX HD concealer in the purple shade. It will lighten and brighten any concealer. Don’t use a lot just a few dots.

I have a very similar skin tone to you, I might be a tad paler but the only concealer I can use to highlight is the Kat Von D concealer in L1, it is literally almost white! I also like the new lighter collection concealer, it seems less cakey on my skin than fair although I know you love that one 😊

I love the fit me formula but the lightest shade I could ever find is shade 20 which is too dark for me.The collection lasting perfection shade is so good for brightening my face but I don’t get along with the formula so I’m so glad they did this!

this is the concealer i use and i never see people talking about it! my only note is that sometimes it creases under the eyes. i'm so glad they came out with a lighter shade bc mine is 10 and it's a little orange for me.

You should try glamoflauge concealer. Their lightest shade is super white and full coverage. It does crease a bit, but it is affordable.

Try the collections lasting perfection concealor shade lemon which is a light yellow corrector that is a very light concealor n it would brighten your under eyes and give a fuller coverage ... try it 😊
Try mixing Kat Von D's White Out with your normal concealer. It is pure white and really good for highlighting the under eyes for pale people like us🙃

Collection should make a concealer shade between 1 and 2 cos I have them both and I have to mix them both so some days my undereyes look white and sometimes they look orange
I bought 05 yesterday XD was so so excited ! Brands need to get their shit together for dark and light shades ! Excited about collection releasing new shades. You should check out the new bourjois releases ( exclusive to Boots atm) new rouge edition velvets, primers and powders. They also have expanded the bourjois healthy mix foundation shades a while ago !
Hi soph, I wear the same foundation shade as you so I thought I’d give a recommendation! A concealer that actually highlights for me is the urban decay naked concealer in the shade fair neutral. It can be quite expensive but it is so worth it! Just thought I’d let you know as you said about highlighting xx
Win think sometimes with the shade range issue, it's because it's quite expensive to produce these products so brands can only limit the amount

believe it or not im paler than you and the lightest shade of the ordinary foundation is just about a close enough match for my face, even though my neck is even paler. the body shop white mixer has been a life saver if youre ever looking for a good one x

The shade ranges of some brands are ridiculous. I’m super pale too (usually ivory or porcelain) and find it so hard to find foundation and concealers that are pale enough and don’t look orange on me. I can’t even imagine how hard it is for women with dark skin tones to find makeup considering a lot of brands barely go past tan. Amazing that they don’t even cater for half the women in the world x

Rimmel lasting finish 25hr concealer in shade 001 light ivory is another good concealer for fair skin, similar to fit me 05 but it's not as pinky toned. And it's quite a thick concealer aswell.

I did 5 super drugs and boots to find your palette and couldn't get my hands on it when I traveled to the uk and I was so sad coz it's the palette I want to have the most, I would say I almost struggled less to get the Jaclyn Hill palette since it's now available on beautybay. (Also the freaking shade numbers make no sense...10 is darker than 15 but then 35 is darker than both of those? What?)

Have you tried the Kat Von D concealer? She dies the shade "white out" which is pure white but the next shade L1 is super pale basically white but better for skin!!!!
