Loved seeing how you organize your space! For the hand cream container from your Nana - you could make a watercolor palette that sits it inside using polymer clay. Depending on how deep it is you could make 2 layers that stack on top of each other. Like the Etchr porcelain palette.

Call me emotional, but I was so touched to see the way you started and where you are today. I remember all those locations and all the roads you took and how freaking amazing it is to see you in your lovely beautiful creative place. I love your studio so so much. I love everything about it. I love how it is SO SO YOU. and I feel so much inspiration just by watching you stay in it. my sweet sweet friend, I am so so so proud of you.

The studio I remember the most was the one I awkwardly shared with E. My studio became his room, we painted it from pink to a bluey-grey. He'd play on his play mat while I created. That didn't last long, but it was such a sweet time for me where motherhood and artisthood collided. I wish I had a video of that, but it's always in my heart.
      Thank you

I loved that you showed some of your old studios along your journey, but gotta say, your new spot is Such a beautiful workspace. So unique! I wish we had an art incubator space where I live.

I wish I had more videos of those spaces. I'm making sure I document the heck out of this place - I have photo folders like "Studio in July" littered across my photos.
I wish you had one too! I wish everyone could stay in this one with me :)

Caylee: I was most interested in your creative space. I liked that whole complex idea that you have your studio in. I wish we had one around here. Unfortunately the land is too expensive.
With that said, it looks like you are doing very well and congrats are in order. Is that area that is adjacent to your locked area secure enough with your tools and products? I am just curious. I noticed that there is very good natural lighting for creating. That is so important. Thank you for the your tour. Studios are usually very private and personal. I know, I don’t want anyone visiting me at my studio. Carol from California

Thanks so much for your comment, Carol ♥ I love hearing from you.
You're so right about studios being a private place. It's been an interesting journey for me because this space is very open. The reason I started here was because I was very lonely. I had worked from home for the longest time, and hadn't made any friends in my new country. This was one of the steps I made away from that deep loneliness.
There is a cafe at the front of the building that is bustling and it feels like it keeps me company over lunch time. The building itself is also often part of a tour for architects so there are often people wandering about. Every now I'll look out the window and then I'll spot someone wandering about, so I put a barrier made of lace across my area.
I used to have the apothecary drawers inside the container, and only desks outside. I would move my supplies in and out and that extra step prevented me from creating. One day I thought, you know, I'll just move it out. As a South African I'm extra wary of thieves but so far it's been okay. I'm okay if a paint tube or sheet of paper gets stolen - it's worth it to me to be able to keep it outside. I won't keep my camera or more expensive stuff out there. That gets locked up.
I love the lighting. When I was on the top floor, the lighting was better since it was coming from all sides. But this one has some softness to it

Caylee: it sounds like you are on top of things and alert. That lace drawn across that area is a gentle way of telling people not to enter. A very clever idea. Good for you. I hope you have found some new friends that are excited about the same things you are interested in. Look forward to your next video. Carol from California
