Like I said in the video, this look is really just a documentation of one moment in the space - it's really never like this where everything is clean and organized. The one thing that's stayed the same / has been consistent since my last art room tour is the mess!
I'm the same way, I started to end the day with tidying up which is relaxing before bed and I know that when I wake up in the morning everything will be neat.
“People have done a lot more with a lot less.” Thanks for the last words! It inspires instead of frustrates when some couldn’t get hold of those awesome art supplies. 😅
Hello hello! As I mentioned in the video, I would love to hear what your favorite children's book is (or what book is the most memorable to you). This tour has been requested a countless amount of times on Instagram. Usually (like 99.9% of the time), my studio is not this clean at all so don't be fooled by this video! - please leave any other video requests or recommendations below as well!
PearFleur My favorite children’s book when I was little was Elmer the Patchwork Elephant ✨ it helped me realize that it’s okay to be different and that I don’t need to fit in :)

My favorite children's books, as a super young kid.. Comet's Nine Lives by Jan Brett and The Sea Chest by Toni Buzzeo/Mary GrandPre. As an older kid, Watership Down by Richard Adams.
I love your giant jars with water, I imagine they look pretty when you mix bright colours! Oh! And for children’s books I love the work of Amélie Fléchais: “The lost path” and “The little red wolf” have an amazing style.
I am absolutely obsessed with your aesthetic and your accumulation of art supplies! I have been following you since I was a child, and it has been inspiring watching you grow as an artist.
Favorite Children’s books: Anne of Green Gables, The Secret Garden, The Jungle Book, The Eleventh Hour, Chronicles of Narnia, The Little Prince, all of the fairy tales-blue book of fairy tales, red book of fairy tales, Irish fairy tales (yeats), Russian fairy tales, American folk tales, The People Could Fly, etc. I could go on...SO MANY GOOD ONES. Thanks for the tour!
Your studio looks so peaceful, like a good place for a nice cup of tea while sketching (also, a book from my childhood was Moonbird to the Rescue by Mike Higgs
Two favorite childhood books - I have my set and my mother's as well. A A Milne: Now We Are Six, and A A Milne: When We Were Very Young. I am 72 now, just to give you a sense of how old the books are. You'll need to get your London on to fully appreciate them.
8:13 I love these four trilogies, howl’s moving castle by Diana Wynne Jones, Wildwood by Colin Meloy, The expeditioners by S.S. Taylor, and his dark materials by Philip Pullman. All of them are fantasy full of magic, I read them when I was 15-18 so not really a child but will always enjoy them and probably will reread them
yes finally a real artist/art student studio. totally agree that it is a constant revolving state of mess, cleaning, recleaning. it has been 10 years since i left art school, this tour brings back so many memories of supplies i have since let go. ❤️❤️❤️
I've always admired your curation(?) As much as you emphasize how there is no rhyme or reason to your room, I see thoughtfulness in every object you choose to acquire and keep. And to top off a video of such a beautiful space with this note: "this art room is chocked full of art supplies and other materials but it really doesn't matter. Having a well stocked studio or an art room at all for that matter doesn't make an artist. People have done a lot more with a lot less." Amazing. This is why I love watching your videos, and following your content in general :)
I found you a couple weeks ago, and I can’t stop watching ur videos. I love for Your decorating style it’s so organised and spacious. It looks like it’s a really positive space
I got excited when I saw Maus in your book collection 🥰 also thank you for linking the desk! I have severe scoliosis and that desk would be so wonderful for my back and posture! 💕
The trumpet of a swan by E. B. White was a favorite of mine as it’s a story about a mute trumpet swan who becomes a famous when he learn to play the trumpet. Another would be My Life in Dog Years by Gary Paulson and it a bunch of short stories of the author and the dogs he had. I read these books from elementary and middle schools they were great.
My "stuff" is never in the same place 2 days in a row either, it was very nice hearing that! lol A very short list of my favorite books growing up: Charlotte's Web, James and the Giant Peach, Island of the Blue Dolphin, and any Lady Bird fairy tale (Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Jack & the Beanstalk, you name it...IMHO the illustrations were amazing) I love that you collect children's books, too. :)
Kind late to the party (sorry), but I didn't see any Maira Kalman books on your shelf. She's always been one of my favorites. Thanks for the tour -- lovely space.
One UA-camr has never brought me as much joy as I get from here. I absolutely love everything about this channel. Just watching this really improved my day which was helpful because I was in kind of in need of that. This channel tends to act as a hand lent to stop worrying for me, thank you, I adore your videos
I remember my two favorite books as a child being "A little Princess" by Frances Hodgson and "Mio, My Son" by Astrid Lindgren, I still have them today as a memory :)
“The last Elegant bear” is a short-ish story I remember reading as a kid and it never quite made sense to me completely but I thought the cover was really nice and I liked the picked inside.
One of my favorite books is Richard Scarry's Best Word Book Ever, I used to stare at each page for long stretches of time and come up with stories in my head and put myself to sleep every night like that as a kid
Hi PearFleur, I love your videos! Funny that you mention children's books since I'm taking a class on children's literature. My favorite children's book is The Phantom Tollbooth.
I have the privilege of a studio to work from since I got married recently and moved out of my parents' place into a house with more space. I'm collecting ideas, and yours is spectacular. I enjoy seeing less clutter and more space. But what I really like is that line you ended with "People have created a lot more with a lot less." Beautiful! Thank you for sharing this with us! Oh, and one of my favourite children's books is 'Olivia Saves the Circus' by Ian Falconer!
What a STUNNING art room - my perfect dream workspace...so calming!!! Please give info. about the folding/unfolding rack that holds your waterclolor papers. Thank you!
my favorite book growing up was a poetry book called "walking on the bridge of your nose" and I also love the book "a monster calls" for its illustrations.
Everyone reccing really interesting and aesthetic books and im like...diary of a wimpy kid lol but growing up these books felt special to me: - The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams - Inkheart by Cornelia Funke - Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren Love the video!!
I do not know if it is considered an children's book but I had one with a collection of Akutagawa Ryunosuke's short stories. I also loved the Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen.
Your videos are increeedibly inspiring, I watched this and now I'm feeling a urge to draw just because of how inspired I am. The aesthetic is just refreshing, I dream about having my studio some day, so this made my eyes sparkle.
I really enjoyed Watership Down as a kid! For a title I haven't heard a lot about, I loved a book called "The Un-Magician" by Christopher Golden & Thomas E. Sniegoski. I didn't realize it was a series until years later, though, and hope to read it again someday!
My lime orange tree by Jose Mauro de Vasconcelos! I read it in Korean as a kid numerous times growing up and it always made me happy and feel nostalgic.
helloo i've been subscribed to you for five years and i don't comment often but i just wanna tell you that your channel means a lot to me and i'm absolutely in love with your art and your videos AAAAA i hope you have a nice day!!!
When I was young I adored the Brambly Hedge series by Jill Barklem! Her books are extremely charming and quaint, featuring anthropomorphic English mice. The illustrations are to die for and I still love flipping through them to relive childhood memories.
my favourite books as a kid were "the magic fan" and "if you're afraid of the dark, remember the night rainbow". both super random- but i love them so much.
One of my favorite books as a kid was one specific version of winken blinked and nod. I don't remember what version sadly, it was a long time a go, but it had such beautiful art!
childrens books - the giving tree, falling up - both by shel silverstein. another one i love as an adult but had childlike wonder is the ocean at the end of the lane by neil gaiman. i would also recommend flowers for algernon by daniel keyes
books i loved growing up are inside a house that is haunted, Maisy Mouse books ( especially the one where she bakes and goes to the pool) and angelina ballerina books. I also really loved a book where two girls wore pink tutus everywhere but can't remember the name of it. I have so many favorites but can't think of all of them :)
What a beautiful studio! Thank you for showing it to us :) Best children books in my opinion (for children aged 7-12 yo.): The Borrowers (Mary Norton), When Marnie Was There (Joan G. Robinson), the Moomin books by Tove Jansson (in Finland every child has watched or read Moomins! In a Moomin museum located in Tampere there is a nice collection of her art work :) ). I also loved Debi Gliori's childrens' books at that age (Pure Ded Magic series) as well as A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Chronicles of Narnia (C. S. Lewis) and Diana Wynne Jones and Astrid Lindgren's books. I would also suggest books with folktales from all around the world! :)
That standing desk is amazing. I feel like I need one now, hahah. My favorite book when I was little was The Velveteen Rabbit and my 5yo son’s favorite book is Goodnight Moon 🌝
I really loved "A Princess in Boxland" and "The Big Blue Book of Beginner Books." There was this other book that listed facts about various animals and insects that I really loved. I love your art and your videos. Keep up the good work!
As a little kid, my favourite book was the Brambly Hedge collection by Jill Barklem. It's full of the most beautiful watercolour illustrations by the author, which I can still get lost in for hours. The Little Grey Rabbit books by Alison Uttley are also a delight! I guess my favourite kid's novel (besides HP) is the Magyk series by Angie Sage - pretty similar to HP but with it's own sense of humour and a really wonderful setting 💛anyway, thank you so much for filming this gorgeous tour!
my favourite book series from my childhood was Malory Towers by Enid Blyton and also the Famous Five and Secret Seven series by her. The audio book for Malory Towers is also really good!
I have so many favorite childrens books however I remember reading with my mother the Lewis Carrol books. Loved the Walrus and the Carpenter. I did love the illustrations in the book. The mouses tail. was cute. poem written in the shape of the tail. :)
8:17 , my favorite book growing up, and that still holds a place in my heart today is a children's book called Zorgamazoo. It is a rather obscure book(atleast in my home town) that uses a rhyming narrative throughout the story. It is very hard to explain my love for the book as explaining FEELINGS isn't really easy for me but I hope that you atleast give it a chance. It really is a book to read once in your life. I'll reply to this comment when I remember the name of my other favorite.
The Phantom Tollbooth was my favorite as a kid, and it's got great line illustrations. I'm fooling with gouache now, and a goal is to get good enough to copy the map at the beginning of the book. I think you'd really enjoy the Mathmagician, King Azaz the Unabridged, and Tock, the watch dog.
Love the big open windows and green plants. Your studio looks so clean and relaxing. Especially love the prints on your walls, thanks for sharing and stay safe!
Great video, as usual. I really loved the colors of the thumbnail and I think I prefer them to the flat log (I assume) grading you did on the video. I really think that if you did the same grading as you did in the thumbnail, it would be looked really really nice.
Book suggestion - My grandfather's favourite book when he was a boy and subsequently my favourite book when I was a young girl is Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome. And from looking up his name just now to make sure I've spelled it correctly I've discovered that there are sequels?! I had no idea and this has just made my day! Wouldn't have discovered that if it weren't for your request for book suggestions! Thank you!
Tashi was a HUGE love for me growing up! Not sure if you've heard of it or not but they're really fun books (at least from what I remember of them hahah)!
I really love your space and in regards of childrens books, I just adore Michael Ende ... among other stories he wrote "The Never Ending Story" and "Momo", two outstanding tales!
You definitely can do more with less. You can even make paint out of ashes and eggs! That’s oversimplified but I think it gets my point across. Also, children’s books are one of my favourite places for inspiration too. The most memorable one from my childhood is called “Time for a Rhyme” by Lucy Kincaid. The poems are super old fashioned and the art that goes with them is absolutely amazing. Also, John Bauer, the stories are in Swedish so I don’t have a clue what they say but the paintings are gorgeous.
I LOVE your last line in this video - ‘people have done a lot more with a lot less’ - speaks volumes!! I also came here to tell you about a great children’s book called ‘The Little Prince’ - we used to read it in my high school French class! Enjoy!
lovely collection!! my top 3 favorite books are howls moving castle, the talisman by stephen king and peter straub, and sabriel by garth nix! i also love the dragonlance saga, pride and prejudice, and there is a 3 part book :dragon song, dragonsinger, and dragondrums!!! all of these books i have mentioned kept me company growing up!
A children’s book I absolutely adored when I was younger was this book called “Fairy Houses” by Tracy Kane, i actually have just discovered it’s a small series! The illustrations and story are so nice!
I appreciate how she stated that people have made a lot more with a lot less because although we all want a studio like this (a damn dream if i say so myself) that shouldn't hold us back on my artistic journey.. love that ♡♡
if you’re looking for some charming children’s books, you’d love the moomin series. this studio is beautiful, totally the sort of aesthetic i hope to have someday 🌿
Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy, this was my first and is still my favourite book from me childhood, illustration is adorable as well as the story
Your studio is so lovely! I love your figures of astro boy :D as for childrens books I grew up reading Michael Morpurgo, my favourite being Alone on a Wide Wide Sea
When I was little I read a book about a girl who finds a old round window in the attic of a old castle-like house that allows you to travel through time when you climb through it. It's called Moon Window and the cover art really left an impression on me as a little girl. It's absolutely gorgeous.
your brother is me 😂 your creative space is beautiful also, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane always has a special place in my heart, from the stunning pictures to the story
One monster after another by mercer mayer. It's simple yet totally complicated and the art is amazing and frog and toad is timeless and celebrates friendship like no other. Great space full of light ❤ thanks for sharing😁
When I was younger, I think I read more for story than image. Only later in life, I became a little more studious of images. But these are some titles where I think the images linger because of their particular charm. Frog and Toad (Arnold Lobel); Barbar the Elephant (Jean de Brunhoff); The Tale of Peter Rabbit (Beatrix Potter); Where the Wild Things Grow (Maurice Sendak); Ernest and Celestine (Gabrielle Vincent). I learned of Vincent by way of introduction through an animated feature based on her books... Your studio looks so organized. Enjoyed seeing all your art supplies.
How the f do you keep everything do tidy if I organize my desk it lasts MAX a week 🤒 it's so nice
Like I said in the video, this look is really just a documentation of one moment in the space - it's really never like this where everything is clean and organized. The one thing that's stayed the same / has been consistent since my last art room tour is the mess!

I used to love The Balloon Tree when I was younger.
I don't know if it counts as a children's book, but I absolutely adore The Little Prince! I'm pretty sure you've already read it though. 😅
The complete children's works of AA Milne are my absolute favourite, especially his poems
Really great space! Like the little Tri-vane fan too.
The workspace god himself 🙌
I know who you are.... I had met you, you were with Chris do. On futur Channel 😁😂😂

OMG, this Studio is so beautiful and peaceful. I love every detail of this room.
Love the big open windows and green plants. Your studio looks so clean and relaxing. Especially love the prints on your walls, thanks for sharing and stay safe!
My favorite kids books are If you Give a Mouse a Cookie books and the pigeon books! They're cute.
Thank you!
Down the Road to Jamie's House by Beverley Birch was given to me in pre-school and is probably the one I hold most dearest to my heart
Tashi was a HUGE love for me growing up! Not sure if you've heard of it or not but they're really fun books (at least from what I remember of them hahah)!
8:20 The Grand Old Tree! i forget who its by, but it was my favorite growing up. its very good.
also, your studio is so nice!! I'm getting artenvy rn
The "yellow peril supports black power" print 💛💛💛
So peaceful and your voice is soothing.
A children’s book I absolutely adored when I was younger was this book called “Fairy Houses” by Tracy Kane, i actually have just discovered it’s a small series! The illustrations and story are so nice!
I love children's books too! I like The Boy, The Mule, The Fox and The Horse. I also have The Little Prince. I have heard The Faraway Tree is good.
I appreciate how she stated that people have made a lot more with a lot less because although we all want a studio like this (a damn dream if i say so myself) that shouldn't hold us back on my artistic journey.. love that ♡♡
if you’re looking for some charming children’s books, you’d love the moomin series. this studio is beautiful, totally the sort of aesthetic i hope to have someday 🌿
hey, you can get the soil map to have less creases by ironing it. put a cloth on top of the map so you don't burn it however.
Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy, this was my first and is still my favourite book from me childhood, illustration is adorable as well as the story
Pls introduce ur cats!!!!
Your art studio is also so dreamy and I love how whimsical yet practical your storage is.

as for childrens books I grew up reading Michael Morpurgo, my favourite being Alone on a Wide Wide Sea
My favorite book was pippi longstocking and the letter for the king ! 💗
When I was little I read a book about a girl who finds a old round window in the attic of a old castle-like house that allows you to travel through time when you climb through it. It's called Moon Window and the cover art really left an impression on me as a little girl. It's absolutely gorgeous.
your brother is me 😂 your creative space is beautiful
also, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane always has a special place in my heart, from the stunning pictures to the story
Marc Martin's "River" is one of my favourite illustrated books, I love his use of texture and colour.
I love the scents of Christmas by Patricia Scarry. My niece and nephews favorite is the going to bed book by Sandra Boynton. ❤️
One monster after another by mercer mayer. It's simple yet totally complicated and the art is amazing and frog and toad is timeless and celebrates friendship like no other. Great space full of light ❤ thanks for sharing😁
Beautiful 💙😻 as for books, I loved all of Brian Wildsmith books as a little child and I adore them as a grown up!
Loved all of the Beatrix Potter books as a kid and the illustrations are gorgeous!
