Hi Caylee! Borrowing your idea from a previous video, I recently made a travel journal before a trip to Venice, Florida 🇺🇸 (The Shark Tooth Capital). I filled it with maps and ocean and shark and shell book pages. It changed and enhanced my trip. I stopped at the Florida welcome center and picked up an insane number of brochures for ephemera. I looked at things differently, more closely, more observant. I took thoughtful photos knowing I would print them with my sprocket just for my journal. I combed the beach for flat, small shells I knew I could glue onto the pages. I brought home some sand to glue in. I did some Journaling at the hotel.. When I got home, I spent about a week filling in the rest....with memories and anecdotes, pics, drawings,..... Thank you so much for introducing me to the travel journal and how it can greatly enhance the experience and the memories.

“How do you have time to journal on your trip?” I get that question ALL THE TIME TOO and I always just say “I make time.” Also my journals are more writing heavy, so I tend to do some of the decorative bits beforehand and stick ephemera in as I go, but yes. I like to find a place to sit and just journal. That’s always fun cause I also like people watching and I can do both. Sometimes I go to the touristy spots and sometimes it’s just a random pretty spot I stumble across. Like you said in your previous video, walking everywhere is key! You see more pretty places when you walk around esp. off the beaten paths. Taking a little dedicated kit helps loads too. I wish I could be as minimalist as you though! I think I always take too much, but I also managed to use up most of it haha. I always love your travel journals and can’t wait to watch your next vid to see the completed flip through! (Also wasn’t expecting you to mention my pouch tut lol thank you!) xx

I totally understand the pleasure of sitting in a coffee shop and journalling, however, I am usually with my husband who pretty much reads and writes only for practical reasons. 🙄

I agree - it's always fun to see how differently artists look at the world. Happens to me and my bf all the time, even when we draw the same thing.

Hahah! My husband's an engineer and is the same. Sometimes when he comes with me he'll just read or I'll chat while glueing papers down :)
