You are definitely missing out by only playing banana mania and the 3ds game. Super Monkey Ball 2, or Super Monkey Ball deluxe are by far the best games in the franchise. Control of the ball in these games feel so much better than the newer games. Many custom track rom hacks have been made for Super Monkey Ball 2 and can be played very easily on the dolphin emulator.
I would just like to point out that you can in fact control the "RNG" of the platforms by "setting the cycle". Nearly every situation where there are moving platforms, the platforms are always moving regardless of which level you are on. This allows you to time a self kill (default is the k key) on your last life based on moving platforms to manipulate where it will be. This is what setting the cycle means. You can do this to setup your 2nd set of runs if you fail the first as well as set up the next level if the platform is visible. I should mention that prism is the only map that I can think of that has fixed cycles regardless of when you self kill, and it is not every moving/spawning block of prism.
i think id love a more in depth video on tower unite, my only exposure to it (aside from your vids) has been Richter overtime and he kind of paints it in a bad light
So remarks, the game fundamentally is not monkey-ball-like if you aren't tilting the stage. This game is more like the marble series games, marble race and marble it up. And you should definitely look into the actual fan favorite monkeyball games, 1 and 2. It's kinda like saying a Roblox GTA clone is better than saints row reboot. Like...yeah of course
Played the new ball race map and had an absolute shit time. Miserable map design. Meanwhile i couldnt get enough of super monkey ball. Legit feels like a skill issue on your part.
