How To Whitewash Pine

We've made our trim and now its time to finish it with whitewash!
I'll be using Bulls eye 1-2-3 Primer by Zinsser, and a clear satin topcoat of 'NanoDefense' by Varathane to ensure a durable, scratch resistant, finish.
The casing and baseboard is a flat stock material, chamfered on one edge. All of it is clear pine

Thanking you for posting this video. I already had the Bull's Eye 1-2-3 on hand and mixed the primer with some water in another container. I tried it out on my table leaf and I got the white wash effect I wanted. Now I have a pine table with 6 chairs to do.

Thanks for the tips. Getting ready to white wash a couple of barn doors and will use the Bullseye.

Most welcome! It’s a good trick, there are plenty of other methods but this one was the easiest and cheapest

Do you have to wipe the Bulleyes off with a rag after brushing it on?

Hi! I didn’t. I just diluted it and applied it, no wiping necessary like a traditional stain

1/4 of water, per quart
But it really doesn’t matter, different woods may require different ratios, it’s best to test on some scrap pieces like I did
