Leg Side Batting - Whats the Correct Front Foot Alignment?

- Leg side batting requires correct front foot alignment and in this video I show you the incorrect foot alignment as well as the correct foot alignment. This will help you improve your leg side shots like the leg glance, leg flick and the on drive.
If you are struggling with your leg side shots and are not able to score runs or missing the leg side balls, this video is definitely for you. The main reason why a batsmen misses leg side balls is because their front foot alignment is not correct. In this video I show you the 3 incorrect front foot alignments and so you can figure out which mistake you are making, and fix it!
Another important way to improve leg side shots is to make sure your head and body weight are going forward and into the shot. Some batsmen fall to their side and this also needs to be fixed to improve the leg side shots. I go through this in the video as well to make it simple for the viewers. Watch and enjoy!
All the best with your practice.

Line in wickets and height of my waist balls always give me difficulties
Hi Neelam, are you afraid of the waist high balls hitting you?
@@ResultsCricketAcademy i kinda have the same problem
@@Aaronthegreat4 Okay, will make a video on this soon!
Very nice 👍 i am struggling with this becz by wearing the pads... Its very tough... Kindly make another video on this how to judge the ball length and how to decide the shot to hit
Hi, will make a video on that soon!
Thank you so much for all these information.
I’m having trouble to judge the length to hit for six. Also how to play the fifth stump line?!! I have no problem playing with front foot. But I can’t connect if I want to hit it over cover.
Hi, to hit a ball for six, different lengths have different shots (e.g. short ball can be hit for six with a pull or hook, back of good length can be hit for six with a lofted drive). I would suggest experiment with six hitting in the nets for next few weeks, you will get back at this skill. Let me know how you go.
@@ResultsCricketAcademy thanks
Hey how to keep your head still any drills for head still my head falls to the off side when bowler is about to bowl the ball
Hi! Try this simple way - put a cone on your helmet when batting and try to keep the cone from falling to the offside when playing the shot. Try to drop the cone straight towards where you are playing the shot (this means that your head went straight and did not falling)!
Hope this helps!!
Please help to make a video how to keep the ball grounded while playing the flick shot.
Hi, will make a video on that soon!
Superb
Thank you! Cheers!
when I do a heel to toe movement the toe gets closed after landing and does not point at the line of the ball. It sometimes also happen while playing cover drive shot. Is it due to the heel of the shoe ?
My two grandsons struggle to play the straight drive. The ball travels about 10-20 meters before it touches the ground. How do I get them to ground the ball closer to them?
Hi Jannie, firstly great to hear your grand sons enjoy playing cricket!! In the below video I show 1 simple drill a batsmen can do to hit the ball along the ground more consistently, it will help your grand sons -

Hi Stephen, thanks for commenting, shall make a video on that soon!
@@ResultsCricketAcademy thank you coach 🏏
When I bat, my front leg goes to the side always. Somehow I am middling the ball but it's not proper technique because my front foot is to the side and where I hit the ball is on the other side. Do you have any videos for this?
Sir we can give directly trials in any domestic cricket ?
I'm 22 so I can join cricket or not & what platforms are available for me ?
Hello,
Various countries have different procedures. You will have to contact your local district cricket association to check for the upcoming trials as per your age group.
Sir how can I judge the ball , weather I have to play it leg glance or with straight bat
Hello and thanks for your query,
for an over pitched ball on middle and leg stump always present straight face of the bat and then cork your wrists on follow through, aim to play the ball towards or between mid on and mid wicket. If the line of the ball is further down leg stump, present the face of the bat and cork wrists quicker to play finer towards fine leg. Ensure bat meets ball in front of your left pad and you are leaning over your shot. Weight on follow through will be on left foot.
Hope the above information helps,
kind regards

Straight drive
Square cut/drive
How can we play a flik shot against inswing ball plz explain
Hi, playing a flick shot against inswing bowling should be the same way as straight bowling. The swing does not matter, it is the final line of the ball when it is near you. Hope that makes sense?

Hi sir I am Karthik please join me in your cricket academy 🙏
Hi Karthik, we are based in Sydney, Australia
How good you may teach but you need to show them by playing not by simulation in thoughts
Hi, we are in lockdown in Sydney, so cannot meet anyone to bowl to me or throw the ball to me. Therefore I am explaining the information, which if you understand it, it is very valuable.
