Cricket Batting Tip - Attack or Defend the Ball? (For Beginners)

- A cricket batting tip on how to decide to attack the ball or defend the ball in cricket. Decision making in cricket is important when batting to save your wicket as well as score more runs. In this video I show you a simple drill for beginners to learn this ability of decision making when batting. This will help them decide when to attack or hit the ball and when to defend or leave the ball.
For all beginner batsmen, learning when to defend the ball and when to attack the ball will make all the difference for their confidence. A very simple batting tip is to use cones (or any other object) to make a good length zone on the cricket pitch. This good length zone is then used as a guide to help the batsmen know when to attack the ball and when to defend the ball.
Practice of about 1-2 hours is required to improve this skill (depends on the age group). But the decision making skill can definitely improve!
Enjoy!!

Over this time I have worked with close to a thousand cricketers of all ages and abilities helping them develop interest in the game and guide them towards better cricket technique.
This UA-cam series is directed towards players, parents & coaches anywhere in the world who can take a step into my coaching sessions and benefit from my observations as I work through some of the common batting and bowling issues with my players.
If you are still struggling with your cricket technique, feel free to send me your batting or bowling videos via a UA-cam link and I will be more then happy to send you feedback on how you can improve your cricket technique!

This is an excellent approach. Will be useful if this is used in the academy on more regular basis.

@@syedhamzalla3694 Hi Syed, how long did you practice for?
So are you saying block / leave the good length ball? Maybe look to nudge for a single?
Anything too full is the one we attack? Or also too short.
I always thought if it was full, defend it. Are you saying hit the full ones, defend the good length ones?
