  • Welcome to the NEW Filthy Rides interior car detailing video series! Our first installment is a deep cleaning project on a family minivan, which hasn’t seen a good cleaning in YEARS. This 2008 Toyota Sienna is completely covered in the dirt, grime, sand and dust you might expect from heavy use - but with kids, we’ve got the added bonus of food & drink spills, mystery muck, stains from markers and more.
    To get all the dirt, stains, marks & funk out, we had to pull out the seats and get to work vacuuming, extracting, drill-brushing and detailing the entire interior. After 8 hours of work, we were able to transform this old Toyota minivan into a nice ride once more… until the next family road trip!
    Even better: we did it with tools & materials that rang in well under $100 total.

    Dang, loved this. I owned this same year and model van. Had it 10 years with 3 little kids and cleaned it often. But the worse clean up was adult vomit (not mine). We left our van with an extended family member while they were watching our kids for the weekend. It took months to get the full smell out. It was awful. I’ll never share my car like that again... and I might still hold a silent grudge against that person for not offering to have it professionally cleaned.

      That's what's great about Simple Green - it's orally non-toxic, with no harsh fumes or damaging chemicals! Though Griff was certainly wishing he had them with that mystery gunk in the side paneling...

    I spilled a gallon growler of Ballast Point beer in my car on the way to my work’s Oktoberfest. It was a tragedy in more ways than one and I could never quite get the smell of old beer out.

    Is simple green safe to use on leather seats?? It says on the bottle to not use on leather but i see detailers use it on leather all the time. So is it safe for leather or not??

    FYI when you’re cleaning those door hinges/sliders it’d be a good idea to spray some fresh grease in there when you’re done, you don’t want it completely without lube.

    Do you have to dilute simple green to a specifc ratio for cleaning vehicle interiors . Or straight chemical.

    What about an steamer for the headliner

    • @simplegreen
      @simplegreen  4 роки тому +5

      Steamers are fantastic, but can get pretty pricey, and if you don't have one on hand it may be a bit much to ask someone on a budget.

    • @romeoseatingchannel4720
      @romeoseatingchannel4720 4 роки тому +5

    • @Kezpool

      Romeo’s Eating Channel probably not as would over saturate it and it’s hot water so would defo effect the adhesive

      I’m a detailer in Arizona and it varies by the size/condition of the vehicle. Also what state you live in and what type of “pro” you hire are other determining factors. As everyone is different and every vehicle is unique, it’s hard to have just a single price per vehicle. Also the statement “You get what you pay for” is extremely accurate in the detailing world. 🙂
      I’ve detailed a handful of Toyota Siennas all in this condition, if not a little worse with dirt/stains all over the carpet and leather seating.
      In my area, depending upon the detailer, it’s about $500-$800 for a full interior detail of this size/condition adding in a steam cleaner and other techniques. It's a good 8-12 hour nonstop hard working day!
