I live in Wisconsin. I have made the trip to to SoCal three times in my lifetime. The Pacific Coast Highway is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. I take my "America" CD and play the song "Ventura Highway" as we drive that section of the PCH. I hope to return soon.
I use to say, I want to visit overseas to see beautiful places, but a coworker from Michigan told me, if I wanted to see some of the most beautiful scenery there is, I should drive up PCH, and she gave me a booklet highlighting gorgeous places to see. I took her advice, and I have NOT regretted since!! I’ve driven solo about 4 times up PCH, and she was right, because now I’m hooked!!❤❤❤😂
Yes, it's stunning! I agree! You don't have to leave the USA to see spectacular scenery! And even northern MI is gorgeous especially Petoskey on a sunny day! Breath taking beauty on the bay! Also Charlevoix! And the Mackinaw Bridge and Mackinaw Island!
I’ve been all over this country and nothing is better than this place and California is absolutely the best place in America. It’s got it all, mountains, desert, ocean, and the most beautiful women there is on planet earth.
I always had this vague bucket list wish to one day travel down the Pacific Coast Highway, but with all the stuff you hear about the state San Francisco is in now, I don't know anymore whether I still want to do it.
So you are hearing the power the of Right Wing media that wants you to think the most Liberal city is terrible. Dallas and Houston TX have higher murder and violent crime rates than San Francisco. Are you afraid of going to Texas?
Have done the drive from Oregon to the Mexican border. There is an area further north from the starting point of this video. It is called the Lost Coast. It is sparsely populated and there is no through north / south road along this section that is right on the coast. There are a few east / west roads that feed into this area, so you will be doing a lot of backtracking. Hearst Castle is just south of the Big Sur area, before you get to Morro Bay. Built by newspaper magnet William Randolph Hearst, it has several tours. Reservations are required. Also before Morro Bay is the artist colony of Cambria.
I'm not familiar with the Lost Coast but it sounds amazing. Maybe for a future video. I've been to Hearst Castle (I lived in Santa Monica for 10 years.) Thanks for the info! ~ Sean
In what universe is it a 30 minute drive from Big Sur to Morro Bay 😂. More like 90 minutes in the best circumstance with a possible need to cut inland and maybe backtrack a bit to avoid a commonly closed section of HWY 1.
FYI: it’s a drive worth taking if the road is open. Lots of incredible views. The Julia Pfeiffer waterfall, Hearst Castle, Cambria and Ragged point are are worth a stop IMO (even though they aren’t mentioned in the video). But don’t expect it to take 30 minutes to drive from the main part of Big Sur to Morro Bay, even if you skip all of those possible stops along the way or go around via HWY 101.

Nothing is better than America….California is fabulous, I have done it all.
Nothing can stop you
OOPS!. at 4:12 it shows a picture of the welcome sign to Monterey Park. Monterey Park is in Southern California, about 327 miles away from Monterey.
Yes, we noticed that, too. Duh!!! We'll fix it in future iterations. Thanks ~ Sean
Nice piece
Excellent
