  • Shop organization is king in this shop. Join Kevin with his shop and the organizational skills he has applied to his garage. Shop organization is essential for efficiency, safety and productivity in any workshop. Whether it’s an equipment garage, welding shop, etc. Here are some tips to help you organize your shop efficiently.
Start by decluttering your workspace. Remove any tools, materials or equipment that you no longer use or need and donate, sell or dispose of them as appropriate. Divide your shop into functional zones based on the type of work you do. For example, create separate areas for tasks like metalworking, fabrication, assembling, painting, etc. Invest in storage solutions like shelves, cabinets, pegboards, etc. Use clear containers and/or labels to easily identify and access your tools and supplies. When organizing your tools, use tool chests, wall mounted tool racks or tool boxes to keep them organized, clean and readily accessible. As always safety first.
Dedicate a visible area for safety equipment such as a fire extinguisher, first aid kits, ear and eye protection and washes, etc.

I had to stop the video 8 seconds in and just lean back and admire the art. The sofa, the chimney flue ....the little yellow tractor parked by the stairs.
This is the kind of sanctuary you run to...hide and hope nobody finds you for hours.

Incredible! Your organization is off the charts! Major inspiration for me. I had a 25x35 wood shop but it went when we sold our house. Will be building a shop soon and hopefully I can attain this level of organization. What great memories I am sure you and your family create in there. One suggestion is quieter music in the video. Thanks again!

UA-cam has closed a lot of distance for everyone.
I got hooked on Andrew Camarata from New York and Curtis from CEE down under!
Without UA-cam, the only way for someone into technical stuff to expand his perception, would be checking out other craftsmen.
Which in Greece, are not very keen on sharing knowledge.

Thats a really well set up and laid out shop, I like that you've taken some steps to actually make it comfortableto be there rather than a chore.
Its really true (and a lot of people don't get it) that if something isn't available and accessible then it isn't useful. So many guys will just store things in gangboxes and under boxes and boxes in a big jumbled mess and then they will either NEVER use it or they will spend half their time just finding stuff.
    Appreciated, God bless you.

I have watched about two hundred shop tours and yours as far as organized "stuff" ranks in the top five. You would never be at a loss to find anything or any tool you needed to do work on. And neatness, organization and utilizing every space is amazing. I will admit I am envious as hell with your shop. I have a lot of work to do to get to half of an organized place like that. BUT - where is the shop dog or kitty. Holy Moly that is great.

@yContracting Absolutely! It has been too cold to go out to the barn and work on anything. I am starting a YT channel when it gets warmer with the build of a 1928 Morgan Brooklands style hillclimb cyclecar. Are you here in Pa? I was a rig welder when I graduated high school and went out to Abilene Texas. Started out as roughneck and after a few months started welding on the rigs. After I made enough to go to school I went to get my Master's and PhD in Chemical Engineering. I really miss those long days welding and the camaraderie. A couple momnths ago I was riding my 1957 Harley Panhead to work and was run over and wrapped around a telephone pole so I am stuck watching YT videos for a while till I can walk again.
