  • In a previous video I showed you how to install an aftermarket trailer hitch and 4 pin wiring harness. But, that project left me with a messy trailer connection wire that is too long and does not look very professional.
    In this video I will show you how to fix that with a nice product that gives a much more factory look to the trailer connection.

    This is going to be one of those channels that will absolutely blow up once Ford is able to consistently produce Broncos

    Thanks for this video, very helpful. Installed my Curt hitch and wiring in about 3 hours. Honestly the hardest part was removing those plastic phillips clips. Two of them refused to come out and I had to drill them out. Easy to replace. My Bronco has the LED taillights so no need to clip any wires. Wish the hitch came with a integrated plug holder. Overall a fairly easy project.

    You should have bought the mouny that also includes the pin adapter perch. It's permanently mounted to the left side of the receiver and the waterproof cover fits perfectly inside

      Yes that is a good option. I don't recall there being any like that available when I bought this 2 years ago. But you can definitely find them now, and if you have one this adapter just clips right in.

    Installed the connector, great instructions as always. Your videos are perfect for me, I’m already waiting for your next project, kinda hoping it’s a fold down table that doesn’t cost $$$. So far I’ve done 3 of your upgrades!!

      Awesome! Glad you are putting my videos to use. Which other ones did you do?? A table is on my idea list. I am not sure how easy it would be to build from scratch, it might be better for me to buy one and do a good review on it. Thanks for watching

      Hi Tim, I’ve installed the hitch, the wiring harness, wiring connector, and mud flaps. Where did you buy the bronco hitch plug? Thanks again.

      Cool...I got the hitch cover plug from my local Ford dealer. Part number VM2DZ17F000C, cost about $13

    Have you looked into the ETB7 wiring harness yet to convert it into a 4 pin with a Curt Echo brake controller. Allegedly that’s all that’s needed to get 7 pin. I ordered, but haven’t installed it yet.

      No, I am not familiar with this. But I just did some searching and I think this is the product you are referring to: www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/etrailer/ETBC7.html If so, it might work, but the key is getting the brake controller input (blue wire on that product).

    Looks good. U think those screws will pull out of the plastic after a while?

    • @BudgetBronco
      @BudgetBronco  2 роки тому +1

      It is secure but not SUPER secure...it could be pulled out if you really gave it a good yank. I might switch to something like a wall anchor or blind rivet if I feel like it is getting loose. Thanks for the comment!

      @@BudgetBronco wonter if there's any way u could make a bracket to mount that directly to the hitch. Also an aluminum or stainless rivet might work if u get a metal top plate and sandwich the plastic between that and the mount.

      Riveting is a great idea, I do have a rivet gun, I wish I would have thought of that! If it ever comes loose I will definitely do this next.

      FWIW - the connector itself snaps in perfectly on the Ford version of the hitch. No need for drilling. I saw another aftermarket hitch that includes the mount for the plugs as well. I can’t recall the brand. I’ll respond if I come across it again.

    If your going to do it why not just do a 7 way?

    • @BudgetBronco
      @BudgetBronco  2 роки тому +1

      A full 7 pin connection is a lot more difficult to install and requires purchase of Ford towing module which is hard to get
