That's the way brother your doing the rightchise way with truck campers you can park them anywhere its not like a house dragging around you can live off the grid in that Lance truck trayler I been looking for one now for over a decade
I have the same camper a 1989 Lance squire 4000 / 9.4 . this is my 4th camper and its a fixer upper . What sold me on it was the light weight ( 1730 lbs .) and the one piece metal roof ..... I just got it 3 months ago and have been up grading and doing all the repairs on it . --- 210 watt solar panel on the roof , roof rack , built a battery compartment inside and added 2 deep cell batteries , installed a diesel heater , LED lights thru out inside , added cabinets in bed room area , got rid of the black water toilet and replaced with a camping compost one ...... Oh the list goes on (HA) ! But yep getting er done and ship shape for the winter camping I do in the mountains ..... Thanks for the video and have fun with yours and happy trails ....!
The lance Camper Manufacturing plant is in the city of Lancaster CA where I live I've seen them loading those truck campers on flatbed trailers for delivery to dealers. They make a nice camper
Thats an odd question.. 1 is between the kitchen and bed space, placed for a tv. The other is at the dinette. I added one under the sink for a battery charger. Glenn
I have a 1990 and I’ve been struggling finding parts. Wondering what websites you use? I would like to know what led bulbs you use for outdoor lights and where you bought that replacement light cover for where the door handle is. Thanks
The porch light cover, I found on ebay, I recall there was only one at that time. Replacement LED Bulbs are simply an LED 1156 bulb, there are hundreds to choose from on ebay or Amazon, don't buy the cheapest but don't need the most expensive either.
Awesome thanks for the info. It’s hard to get info on these older campers cause the dealer lance in california only sells parts back to 2004. If you have any idea or info about purchasing new window shades for these to that would help out a lot too. Thanks
The issue is keeping the weight center in front of the rear axle so... No. You will need to find a camper designed for your box size. If the center of the weight sits behind the rear axle it takes weight off the front axle. I have seen it done, but think of all the bad things that can happen.
This camper iw way lighter than the 11.5 ft Alpenlite we used to haul. It was fully equipped, slide, generator, 2 fresh water tanks, front bath with a tub, I think that one was 4500 lbs, this one I am guessing 2700 lbs. Truck loves this one. Just have the rubber blocks taking the space between the stops and factory overloads. My truck has a factory camper package, rear sway bar and all. I had 19.5 truck tires on it with the old camper.
My Superduty has a Factory Trailer Tow and camper package. Has same axles as an F350, heavy springs, overloads and large rear sway bar. I replaced the bump stops with Timbrin rubber springs and put the spacer blocks on the overload spring purches back when we had a much bigger camper. This camper is at least 1500 lighter than our last one. This one feels like a light weight. I can tow a trailer now and not feel like I am overloading it
@@driverkpk 1730 lbs. .....thats what mine weighs -89- Lancer 4000 ..... I have it on my 2000 Dodge ram 2500 and it rides great ..... I do have air bags but really I don't even have to air them up with this camper. If i do i run like 10 lbs air pressure .
Not the best idea due to the lateral forces combined with the weight of the trailer. As well, horses' spines aren't meant for riding and can incur lasting damage. If you wouldn't like being told where to go without your consent, best leave such practices in the past.
Torklift dual receiver with a super truss. They have two models, one is rated at 20k the larger one is rated at 30k. It will cost you $1500 to $1800. Expensive but very worth it, especially to ensure the safety of your horses
Very nice!!! my wife and I just purchased a 1997 Lance Legend 890! Love it!!
I added up that I spent over three months in my Camper in 2023

Where do you order the replacement cover parts for the trailer from?
RV Parts.... Mostly Amazon.

I bought LED replacement marker lights for it and will replace all of them when I get time, there are 10 LEDs in each light and are bright and shiny.

@@GlennsSpeedShop is that for all exterior lights? I’m looking to swap my tail/brake lights, running lights, etc.
@@GlennsSpeedShop also, do you know the orange running light cover sizes?
Is the heater sufficient to go winter camping in it or should you supplement it with another heat source? Thanks for the post.
Yes, the 110 Amp hour battery will be done by morning, or before however.
Do you think this model would fit in a short bed 2002 f250 crew cab?

I see that you have the camper on a SRW truck. How does it handle? What is the weight of the camper empty?

Where did you order your fantastic fans? I have a 1998 Lance squire, I love the burgundy color scheme of yours.
Bought my fans on ebay. I too love the color of the interior, for some reason my wife is not a fan...
