I had a '50 ol' yeller 3100, awesome looking with Nova clip 350. Eye brows really enhanced the look as well as front lowering. But, all I could really do realistically is look at it....for 15 years! So I bought a new yeller, an '05 SSR. Now I have something I can look at and drive anytime and anywhere. I drive it like an old lady.....intill the old man likes to be a kid again! 🚀🗽🇺🇲

I own one. There’s nothing like it old or newer. The SSR is unique and misunderstood. So many people ask me, “What is it” or “Is it new” overlooking the big bow tie on the front and rear. People say SSR is that like HHR. Really what an ignorant thing to say. I doubt very much if we will see another like the SSR.

"I doubt very much if we will see another" - I hope you're right, they sure are ugly.

Sort of. It's supposed to be a revived 50s truck for the 21st century but that works too

Bull. I had to replace again the upper & lower ball joints. I used MOOG because no Chevrolet parts were available. Then to take to get front end alignment? LOL Both places I took my 04 SSR said that getting a correct alignment on Trailblazer chassis is elusive. I tried to go to dealer service department. The two I went to don't even know what a SSR is. Service managers are brain dead? Oh well I can tell you that if you don't drive your SSR? It is going to have the same & or more problems than a High mileage vehicle. Never leave your SSR sit un started. NO TINKLE CHARGERS! They will fry your ECM. ABS is a constant problem because GM & Chevrolet placed the ABS controller right next to Catalictic Converter. The heat radiates up from converter & reflects down on to the ABS controller. Melting solder & burning circuit board. A Easy replacement if parts can be found or a rebuilder to repair. The speedometer is sensitive to voltage fluctuations. If the SSR is jump started or battery is allowed to discharge due to lack of use. The SSR goes into anti theft mode & shuts every thing down. Best way to fix is to replace battery with the best battery you can buy & every 5 years. Tires should be of a all season type. Like Continental tires. The Goodyear standard equipment is at best a bright sunny tire. Wet conditions or Ice & Snow? Forget it. Traction control has to be turn off to move & back on for ABS & traction.
