  • In this episode I go back on the hunt for thornback rays, we head to Eastbourne Bandstand to give it a go at a different location to what we have been usually fishing.
Fished the tide down and back up three hours which to be fair was the only time we could get out to try, usually the rays come over the top of the high tide, but did we managed to get one?
We was also joined by Karl Page who come down from Birmingham, always good go meet new people, cheers Karl.

Let's be honest, we'd all be moaning if there were no dogfish. Much prefer a dogfish (fest) to a blank any day (or night) of the season. Besides which I love the way their eyes shine and glow in the light of a headtorch beam as you reel them in. Enjoyable video and in so far as thornback rays (or roker as they are know in Essex) are concerned, all I can say is "better luck next time". Cheers. Ken

      Cheers Ken
Exactly I would rather catch dogs than blank any day and I know in the sessions to come when it super quiet a dogfish will be a welcomed site :)
      Onwards and upwards :)

Hi Jason, Great work on the re-homing rods for the youngsters. No doubt many of them will watch your channel. It's really not a good idea to show those youngsters how you fillet that bluey. As a matter of safety, ALWAYS ALWAYS CUT AWAY FROM YOURSELF. Never towards yourself as you so clearly demonstrated.

Hi Bob thanks for the comment
I know its a bad habit and something I need to sort out
But thanks for pointing it out as sometimes I don't even realise I'm doing it
