@@RB-Raj after following Reef Builders for so long and being a big fan of Jake obviously any change in something you love is a bit worrying. But I really like what you and the team are doing 👍🏻
Fun fact, if you heard what sounds like someone tapping on the desk it was my neighbors shooting giant fireworks while we were recording. The fireworks show was literally a couple hundred feet away.
Than is the man. Love this dude. Funny thing, I have been watching him for over 15 years. I took a 10 year hiatus and when I came back to the hobby, I immediately found one of his lives. I was same old Than just white hair now.
I totally agree with Than, most coral looks better under a whiter spectrum. Though for most non-Acropora coral, white lighting isn't natural, so it's kind of a trade off. Even my Cynarina like white lighting, and they wouldn't encounter a speck of it in-situ, so there must be something else to it. Can't wait for the video at the farm, been following Tidal Gardens for years. (PS, the name is pronounced Nem-at-oh Lab, mix of Nematocyst and lab)
I feel your pain with the custom stand build. I’m a custom cabinet maker and just finishing up a stand and canopy build. I needed exact dimensions for the tank and kept hearing two more weeks for the tank, 6 months later it showed up. Then ordered the 80/20 frame, waited 4 weeks for that. Then built face frames and ordered my doors. Used to be a week lead time, now 5. Had to weigh the flip up canopy doors for the correct lift mechanisms. Surprise, they were back ordered for 5 weeks. Finally getting it completed next week. I feel bad for the customers but I don’t even know what to tell them anymore when they ask for my lead times.
@@RB-Raj I wish I was able to, but work and life stuff didn't line up for much travel this year. But that means I can save up for next year! The only event I'll be able to attend this year is fishtoberfest in Portland Oregon, which is still in it's early years, it's our local clubs 3rd annual show. We have guest speakers, tons of vendors. But it's all freshwater, which I'm hoping to change that, get some salty vendors and hopefully some saltwater speakers too. I'm just a newer younger club member, not on the board. Ive been saying from the start we need to do some saltwater, no one listens 🙃 I love that reef stock started to bring some freshwater stuff, even reptiles bringing all the worlds together!
I’m curious on how dif a coral farm is to insure compared to other businesses. Is there a difference? Flood insurance etc. i would think its a bit more intricate. I’m sure livestock wouldn’t be covered. Nice to see Than on the channel
Yep Remy, welcome to the St. Louis tornado belt, not an issue in Chicago or MN where Im from. I need a generator. Ive lost power south city a couple of times. Than thats a SCAM dont fall for the Mercedes/BMW warranty crap. V8's are tougher than that.
Grew up in the middle of Illinois and am very familiar with severe weather but this was different. So weird and out of the blue. St Louis is also known for ICE so I feel better knowing I've got backup for the winter weather too. Thanks for listening! ~Remy
I couldn’t be happier with our 16K Generac whole home natural gas generator! Now when the power goes out we're completely back up and running 8 seconds latter, even better yet I no longer have to live with vacation anxiety!
Raj, if you need or want a good cabinet builder in the Atlanta area, I know a really good one who would almost definitely be able to help. He's a brilliant designer and has built a stand or two for me in the past.
Thanks for visiting guys! Always a great time hanging out
Great one Than!! You and Andrew at polo reef are my heroes!!!
Thank YOU for your hospitality! Still thinking about the gelato! ~Remy
@@ReefTherapy The gelato is worth the price of admission. Next time I will make vanilla and we pour espresso on it
Gelato for breakfast was amazing
Love seeing Than in all of these You Tubers channels!❤ His farm facilities look amazing!!!
Videos on the main channel coming! We went back to the greenhouse! Hot take: I like the coral in the greenhouse better! ~Remy
@@ReefTherapy interesting to know Remy! Was under the impression the corals in the greenhouse would be less interesting!
Just when you think that it can't get any better! Bravo 👏🏻👌🏻🙌🏼✌🏻😊
We love you Than!
This was a great episode and great collection of views and opinions. The more I hear from Raj the more I am so glad he is involved in ReefBuilders now
Awe man, I don't even know what to say. Thank you!

Than the man with the ultimate coral growing plan.

Haha, I thought that was a thunderstorm at first. Bummed we didn't get to see the show; it sounded like they had the good stuff!
Than’s sage advice and realistic perspective on maintenance and tank size was greatly appreciated. Well said.
Glad to hear Than the man gaining some traction! Good podcast. I'm going to be ordering an MRC kalk reactor soon so I'm happy to support.
Love it!
Loved this episode! I’m a big fan of the scoly fragging idea!

my first time watching/ listening to the new broadcasters… but it sounds like raj has expendable income 😂. but i get the point.
A custom stand is a ton of work when your a hobbyist trying to think of everything without having it already in place to measure from
That's why I tried to keep this SUPER simple. You'll see it shortly
I wonder if the natural seawater Monsoon uses add to the better growth they have?
No, it's definitely all because of the MRC gear 😉🤣
