In that program, amateur groups perform skits by faking various situations. Their ideas are judged by pannel. It looks the middle-aged man in the video who was tired in the daily life is trying to win the program with the idea of performing billiard. Including me, many of Japanese had dreamed once to be performed in this stage, especially when we were children.

This is song is more general though and about locked in societies like a lot of Japanese business men have to experience. They used to hide losing their jobs from the family and dress up in a suit, as usual, and then sit in a park/bar and then go home again to see the family and have a simple dinner cooked by the wife. Many of the men ended up taking their lives. To me Japan is the most techno focused country and in this song I believe Neil is singing about detachment. Sorry, I studied politics and I think it is great that this song has helped you to make your life better. All the best from me. 😎🐘

PSB大好きなんですがこの曲初めて聞きました！
PVも相まって一瞬にして引き込まれてしまいました。
ミレニアム前後の日本が色濃く出ていて、当時を思い出します。
あの当時は不況だデフレだとテレビや世間の声を聞いて育ったためそういうものなんだと思い込んでおり、どこかでデフレがストップして豊かな国にまた戻れると思っていました。
今考えれば十分贅沢で、先進性もバブル時代の遺産も、昭和の良い匂いも残っている最強の時代だったなとPVに出てくる人々や町並みを見て改めて思い直しました。
当時20代前後で思い入れの強い年代だからそう思うのかもしれません。
今後もことあるごとに見返したいPVですね！
