The interactions between Zeff and Garp are something completely unique to the live-action adaptation and it's something I didn't know I needed in my life until now. It really shows the love and dedication the writers have for the original. They are taking liberties but in a way that keeps the spirit of One Piece intact.
I'm really happy that you like the live action. I know a lot of people hate it but I think (as far as it goes for live action based on anime) they really did their best. Thanks for watching :)
The "Luffy... Help me..." scene is really one of the most important in the series as it's the moment when a bunch of good-hearted individuals with different dreams came together to help out a friend. To free Nami in order for her to achieve *her* dreams. This was the moment when the Straw-Hats finally became *a crew.*
And for the most part... The live-action did the original work justice. Emily Rudd and Iñaki Godòy knew how important the scene was and they absolutely *nailed it.*
I am really happy One Piece is in good hands.
I’m glad that a lot of people like live action and actors. I have personally really enjoyed watching it and the acting felt so real I was able to totally immense in OP world 🥰
I think the garp whiskey comment is a reference to that whiskey just get better with age. And he is referring to himself when he says he wants that over wine.
Nami is my favorite character in the One Piece anime and the live action series because she's so cool, and I love her so much because she's so beautiful. The actress who plays her in the live action show is also very attractive.
she is indeed! I thought you might say that
By the way, according to Oda, the series creator, if Nami had actually managed to give Arlong the money, he would have honoured the deal and freed the village. Arlong doesn't break promises regarding money. However, Nami was too valuable for his plans so he used a loophole to keep her in his crew.
Arlong is a very interesting villain. He faced hatred and discrimination from humans who kept enslaving his own kind so he decided to rise against it. But he let his hatred of humans get the best of him and he ultimately becomes blind to the fact that he became what he was fighting against: a racist enslaving tyrant who sees all races other than his own beneath him.
The live-action merely mentions his past but the original work actually shows it and let me tell you... It's *brutal.* You don't actually forgive Arlong for what he has done but you do get to understand him. At the end of the day, Arlong simply did to humans what humans kept doing to his people. And he ended up becoming like them
The world of One Piece gets *too real* at times.
What he did was definitely awful but Nami had no choice but to believe that if she works hard, her effort, pain and tears will pay off. It's kinda like what's happening in many companies. People work themselves to the bone believing that their hard work will pay off and they'll get a promotion but they will never ever see it other than being SNATCHED by others. Oda must have gone through some real rough time in his life. He understands human nature so well.
@@ExpectoRidiculum Funny, you say that, you are actually right. Oda had been working on the manga industry since he was 17 and his ideas for a series were continuously rejected or discontinued before One Piece got started. So he knows what it means for hard work to go to waste. It's a feeling we all felt at some point in our lives.
Sadly, yes 😅 oh well 🤷🏻♀️
Fishman = race
Fisher-man = occupation, man who fishes for fish to eat
The wine is a metaphor.
Nami's actress Emily Rudd is a mangá geek from childhood, and she was already on pair with the anime and manga whem she was cast. Nami is her favorite character and the "Help me" scene, as for a lot of other fans, was the scene that hooked her on One Piece. So she was took it very seriously. Mackenyuu is also a OP fan since childhood and is also playing his favorite character. The Showrunner of the show, Matt Owens is only 35y-old and diehard one piece fan. His favorite character, Miss All Sundays, will debut on season 2 (already in filming, thank god).
I honestly can’t wait for the next season. I’ve watched few videos with the actors watching OP or reacting to fav moments. They are down to earth and I can tell some of them are big fans ☺️ it’s amazing!!
Oh thank god. I seriously needed this just now.
wow, thanks - I'm glad you came back for another episode :)
Props to the actor who played Arlong tho. Watching the live action makes me hate Arlong again.
You’re right. He played the villain so well it’s hard to even think he is not real.
Best episode imo
The most emotional in the live action series so far
❤❤
And now we wait 8 seasons until Jimbei makes his debut.
Jinbe? Will he be the next to join the crew then?
@@ExpectoRidiculum Why would you think that?
@@jshadowhunter because you've mentioned a character you have to wait long time for? XD
@@ExpectoRidiculum I mean, we'll be seeing the rest of the 7 Warlords of the Seas as well (one being featured in the next season in fact).
Ah, okay 👍 ☺️
Luffy my Captain

I see One Piece manga books in the background. Has she not read them?
Hi, ive talked about it in one of the previous episodes. I’ve got these mangas (and the hat) from a friend who wanted me to display these in my videos. We also went through first chapters and compared the character design and that’s how I have learned about the differences. I’m watching the anime privately with my friend. I don’t react to it
@@ExpectoRidiculum It just seemed like you were reacting, asking certain questions, as if you didn't already know where the basic story was going. With the manga in the background the genuinity of big reveals are brought into question.
@@ginjaninja6585 it wasn't a wise choice to put these mangas in the background but I love the look of them there
Yeah definitely is not looking good rn but this crew will pull through
They are strong together
How long before you remember that the correct term is "fishmen" and not "fishermen"?🤣
I will probably need one more episode hahaha
fishermen?
beats me!
❤❤
