I used the same brilliant strategy marketing my new experimental album recorded straight to tape. I achieved spectacular success with way over 5 streams mostly coming from my Mom! 💪
Step one: Be famous.
Do a smaller, cheaper(free) version of every step. Profit from it. Then repeat bigger each time or until you find a better strategy.

Great analysis I really loved hearing what you had to say on the topic Kyle. This is why when people look back on 2024 (maybe even the mid 2020s) the brat album cover and aesthetic will be one of the aspects that stands out the most to people.

You forgot that one should also be: Cool, a sexy goth girl, someone with a somewhat edgy/ratchet aura, a "party girl" who has cool club clips, someone people idolize & want to be or fuck.... I don't think any amount of marketing savy will weigh up close to these factors(which I'm bad at identifying), along with her obvious industry connects...

As someone who is chronically online, I personally think it just carried on from the previous years of “hot girl summer”.
After that a lot of “summers” started to spring up in jest including Chet Hank’s saying white boy summer and for whatever reason, the mainstream media picked up on fans saying brat summer and went to town on it. I don’t think it was anything particular that Charli did but this was a really interesting video
He literally explained how mainstream media picked up on it. They didn't randomly stumble upon the phrase and all ran with it, it had to be marketed to them and it was. "fetch" still never became a thing...
@@avillianchillinskrillian ofc it had to be marketed to them but i think their point is that it was a lot more serendipitous than "genius". when an opportunity presents itself you need the initiative to seize it but the opportunity in and of itself is a unique privilege. people harp way too hard on the genius of these sorts of things. it doesnt take a genius to see that ag cook is at the top of his game rn.
