This song was written for him, about him. By Paul Anka. He did it his way. I was a big Sinatra fan. In those days. I would be laid off from work, collecting. unemployment, Couldn't afford to go out. So I would listen to Sinatra all day. I could tell what song he was going to sing in two notes.I'm 89 now.

Sinatra's life IS that song. His interpretation is by far the best. Sinatra life had deep downs and incredible highs. He stood tall and is greatly missed...

I always get emotional when I hear him sing this song. My Dad loved Sinatra and listening to this makes me miss my Dad. Thank you for this. Frank Sinatra was a giant and we will probably not see another like him. 👏👏🥰

This song always makes me cry. I don't cry just for me, I cry for everyone that traveled their own path and NEVER gave up or quit on themselves and their lives. As you said, Blunt, there were great difficulties, doubts and fears as we walked through different plans that we had for our lives. But when you held strong and got through those times without giving up, the rewards were and are that much more sweeter....and we know in our minds just how strong we really are. Thanks for your reaction. Take care and be well. Peace.

This makes me miss my father bringing streams of tears down my face. I grew up listening to Frank, and the boys, especially Dean Martin who was my mother's favorite of the rat pack. I know the words and have each note burned forever into my heart and memory. Thank you with all my heart for reacting to this song. I needed a good memory today. Love to you and your sweet loving family.

For better or worse, this is the most American song possible. It also never triggers the same emotions twice, it truly changes as you age. As a teenager I related to the exploratory aspect of the song. It is a true call to adventure but now in middle age that part is fading and I now relate to the part about time. It is really an amazing song and he just nails it.
Btw my friend, if you read this…. Awesome job. I came for Frank and stayed for you. Way to go

you are not only in a better position, you also are dealing with life today as a person who grew, by fighting through those days/weeks/months. You picked up valuable coping skills. Things like time management, prioritizing tasks and duties. Skills that will serve you well hen all hell breaks loose next time. And it will, and it ill again. It is like John Lennon said, life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans.

nobody commanded a room like Sinatra. I saw him in Vegas a time or two. Look up him singing OLD MAN RIVER 1946 to see what his young voice was like. POWERFUL....and girls lined up 4 abreast all the way around both sides of the block to try and touch him when he got out of his car and he was maybe 20....he was the first superstar like that

Your reaction is spot on! I was lucky enough to see Sinatra in Reno, he was older but he could belt it out. The thing about Frank Sinatra is that he inunciated his words. You could understand the entire song lyrics not just "I did it my way".....I think this is one of the Number one songs played at funerals because it's perfect! Thank you for being so articulate. Really enjoyed your reaction....Another pretty song of his is called "Something Stupid" which I believe he sings with his daughter Nancy Sinatra...

When Sammy Davis jr was blocked from seeing Sinatra sing at a hotel and Sinatra was told of it he said if Sammy wasn’t allowed in he would take his whole entourage and leave. Sinatra won of course like he always did😂 That wasn’t the only time he stood up for African Americans. He also was an extremely generous person. He especially helped people who were down on their luck in show business. And then there’s that voice … 🥰 He used to sit at the bottom of his pool and hold his breath to build up his lung capacity.
But it wasn’t only his voice it was his style. Also a great actor. My favorite is The Manchurian Candidate 1962 ✌🏼

This is the only Frank Sinatra's song I own. It is on my MP3 player which I still use. I have heard many others sing this song but none as good as this. I have been told but cannot not confirm, that he knew he had terminal cancer when he sang this live here. Which bring a lot more meaning to the song. "and now the end is near"

And by the way, I notice you've only done one more Frank Sinatra song since this one. Frank was arguably the biggest, most popular male vocalist of the 20th century. You could do worse than to take a deep dive into his library. You can start with such hits as "Witchcraft," "The Best Is Yet to Come," "I've Got the World On A String," "Luck Be A Lady," "Strangers In the Night," or his last big hit, "Theme from 'New York, New York."

Amazing the fact that in this specific concert , a night back in October 1974 at the Madison Square Garden , according to fans and music teachers Sinatra was in a bad shape
